To get rid of the red letters you need to flash a modified hboot look in sneakyghosts thread in the international forum

Hi,
I have unlocked HTC One X+ and the center part of touch screen stopped responding.
Will they accept rooted HOX+ or I need to unroot it?
EDIT: I live in EU.
you can send it
There won't be any problems (like. they will mail it back to me and I'll have to pay for this etc.)?
As long as you pay for it, there won't be a problem

How much I'll have to pay?
I've read this and I'm confused: https :// fsfe.org / freesoftware/legal/flashingdevices.en.html
I suggest You to relock Your phone and flash RUU to get phone to "stock" It will show relocked in bootloader but here where I live (in Poland) it looks like they still make repairs under warranty whn relocked.
You should call them and make sure

HI,
I'm from the Philippines and experienced the same problem you described (a portion of the touchscreen became unresponsive). I had unlocked my bootloader, rooted and flashed custom ROMs previously. What i did was to relock bootloader using the toolkit and revert to stock rom and recovery using a cid-specific RUU.
I sent it to the service center and they replaced the lcd and digitizer(they're fused together) for free.
It shouldn't be a problem if your screen was broken and you had your phone unlocked and rooted because the root doesn't do anything to break the screen.

So I've gotta ask and take it easy on me if this is a stupid question. But do only certain roms work with s-on. I'm asking because every Rom above 4.1.1 has never gotten past the boot screen on my EVO. So is this question legitimate?

From what i read yes, but same with s-off depending on what version you're on.. S-off is the way to go, i was having mad issues flashing with s-on and always ended up in a boot loop, did s-off yesterday and have tried three different roms successfully... Totally cool.. Try the s-off using dirtyracun and if you have issues, they will help you out in their irc chanel... Bigdaddy explained it best to me... Him and captain throwback ate good to go if you need help...

Some Roms will require you to flash the kernels first via fastboot or the flash image gui app. Pain in the ass if you ask me. Just go S-off..

Thanks guys....in some cases I've said I'm lucky to have all mac in my house but I feel unlucky with this s-off process. No one is supporting mac, and while I know terminal really well I don't wanna brick a phone I got 3 days ago

S off and it will save you time and stress while flashing roms. Just come to the dark side

If you don't want to s-off just use flash img gui to flash your roms.

I purchased, a T-mobile HTC One about 4 months ago, and converted the phone to the Google Edition including bootloader.
Now I found that the top grill (where the speaker is) is showing a gap, and I have about 3 dead pixels (they stay green and red all the time when the screen is on) Does anybody know how picky they are for replacements, and if I should restore to stock, or can I just send it back and they won't care about software mods?
You will definitely have to return the device to stock. I suggest relocking the BL, return to stock. So no red letters appear at the bottom during boot. I don't think the dive too much more then that.

Thanks, I will try the RUU from HTC and see how that goes. Do you happen to know what is the CID for Tmobile?
This is a little off topic sorry but I didn't want to make a new thread just for this. Recently switched to One from nexus 4 and I also converted T-Mobile HTC one to the gpe. Can I flash Roms from the international section on the T-Mobile device? It seems like they have the same hw

Thank you! I just wanted to make sure they didn't have different data partitions. My last HTC phone was like that and you couldn't flash international on T-Mobile version

Hi All,
Is there a way to s off my HTC 809d dual sim variant? It is a Chinese CDMA/GSM variant.
The fingerprint scanner was broken when I tried to root it with an App from the App Store. The hboot displayed "Tampered" at the first line. I even had not unlocked it through HTCDev!!!
I saw the thread written by @Punk9(here), he wrote the guide to re-enable the fingerprint scanner, he gives me the hope, although a Sprint variant.
Then I unlocked my phone, compiled a twrp recovery, flashed a unsecured boot, and rooted it. But the rumrunner for HTC One Max does not work, I have tried many times.
Can anyone provide me some helps or informations?
Thanks very much
BTW: The HBoot version is 2.47...

Use the UNIVERSAL rumrunner package.... The one you are using is most likely for the USA Verzion(it's a carrier) model.
Wow, thanks for the infomation. I am going to try it.

Yes, I tried that. It made no sense. But I think I need to find a way to remove the "Tampered" to re-eable the fingerprint scanner...

Yeah, I am going to do so. :sly: Lots of people with this variant lost the function of fingerprint scaner, currently has no solution for it.

I have the new AT&T version of the m8. In less than a week, I cracked the screen and called in my HTC advantage warranty to replace the phone. I have unlocked it and am using the venom rom. Is there any way to get it back to factory settings before sending it off to them.
Any and all help is appreciated
There are quite a few threads on this. Try a search and I'm sure you will find something.... Even your exact circumstances with cracked screen.

See theWarranty policy of HTC.
We don't have any RUUs yet so you'll have to find a way to Reflash stock rom + recovery, S - on and relock the bootloader.
