Which ROM? - AT&T HTC One (M7)

Sorry, I am probably opening a can of worms here but that's not my intentions.
I am not trying to ask what's the best rom (I understand that's a highly debatable question). I only like to find a ROM that meets my needs well.
What am I looking for? A rom that is lean, fast, and reliable. I like to flashed it once and leave it at that. Maybe flash again in 6 months or so if necessary.
I am NOT looking for a ROM that's the most advanced, or one that's extremely customizable and comes with lots of bells and whistles.
I guess just a very solid, clean, light weight, and dependable ROM for the average/casual user.
Thanks for any feedbacks.

No one?
I guess no one is flashing their HTC One?

Everyone is but most people won't give you an answer to this because it's not very difficult to find what you're looking for on your own

why flash the rom on your phone?
which custom rom does what?
any specific rom for specific purposes?
and finally, what is the best place to start learning about how to do this...

To get certain things that stock ROMS don't have. Like: Speed, not loaded with Carrier crap.
The ROM post should have info about what is included and what isn't.
Some are made to have more RAM some are made to run Smoother.
Wiki.
I might be wrong, but that is what I have learned overtime.

Who is your carrier?
Good Question
I am glad you asked this because I have been wondering the same thing.
I have the VZW Touch Pro and was reading a LOT on unlocking and then flashing ROMs. I didnt know really what the benefits were besides speed and making it smoother. Does the ROM allow you to have better themes?
Eventually (sooner than later I think) they will be able to unlock the GPS on VZW as well.
I really wish somebody could post a video or something on YouTube on either how to go about the process or what it looks like after flashing a custom ROM.

Custom ROM"s are highly varried. You need to try them out.
I created a Custom ROM that allows you to stay with the 100% stock look, MUCH MUCH faster than ROM that came with phone.
Lots of others add a bunch of crapware and bloatware to the ROM. I didint do that to this one. I left it stock. It runs very fast.
Custom ROM"s also remove some securuity features like when youa re installing an app you are not questioned if its what you really want to do... Etc...]
Custom ROM's can also c ome with differnt themes like you inquired. They can com completly set up or come completely base. It all depends on what you want to download.
My Carrier is Sprint,
I am fairly happy with the phone as is
My only gripes are that:
it is not as responsive going from app to app as I would like
some of the apps I will never use, like the Sprint music store...
I love to diddle and play with my hardware
I do like touch-flo 3D, I think it's a nice UI, I just wish it was a bit more responsive

Thank you so much for the information scrosler! I also read your other thread about the custom ROM you made. I am very thankful for you taking the time to do this for us VZW allies. I am a first to admit that I am a noob at unlocking and flashing ROMs. I dont doubt that I could simply follow the detailed instructions that you have given us. I just want to make sure that the payoff is worth it.
Is there anyway (this really may be asking too much) that you could post a video so we could see exactly what your ROM looks like and the increased speed. Or even a video of the process? Maybe even some screen shots.
I know I will end up unlocking and flashing any day. I have my phone set up just the way I like it with many beneficial programs installed, but it is not fast enough or responsive enough. I personally don't use the Touch Flo (as sexy at it looks) just because the WinMo UI works a lot better for me and is more responsive.
Again, thank you for being so kind and sharing your knowledge and not demeaning us or being rude for all the questions we ask I greatly appreciate the time and dedication it takes to create something like this and I respect it!

I cant do a video, lack the ability, hehehe... I can however tell you this:
It looks and actis identical to the Stock ROM from VZW except is was built on a new CE OS. Its considerably snapier than the stock ROM in everything from boot up to touchflo scrolling.
Its 99.99% stock. The only differnece is the speed, IE 6, ICS, and Net CF 3.5 is all cooked in. It, unlike all other custom ROM's, has all stock VZW apps and the VZW touchFlow. Its a straight rip from a stock VZW leaked ROM. The details ont he ROM and the kitchen used are in the new thread.
Its just to easy to do.
Download file A, run it. Download file B, run it. Its not that much harder in all honesty.

Awesome Link!!! I just wish they had this same thing for the VZW Version!
Another stupid question...
Well I think this would be the appropriate thread to ask this.
I was wondering if there was any way to put 2 today screens into one instead of having to switch. Basically I am wanting a Touch Flo today screen at the top and the bottom half I would like to have a WinMo today screen with the two quick buttons at the bottom. Is this possible or am I just wanting too much? It seems like the themes for the Touch Flo look much better and I LOVE the black themes.
Any info. would be much appreciated!

What is the most stable Android Rom?

What is the most stable Android ROM?
Im not looking for any fancy themed ROM's or any with lots of bloatware
Im just looking for something thats pretty stable
Also something that would Allow the Extended Battery
trial and error......
search function.........
no definite answer ......
goodnight vienna............
try mdeejay 2.3 revolution and change kernel to the new mdeejay's S6.1 version...understood???
it just so happens that's the one I use as well....
sounds like a good place to start.....
I prefer he builds without sense so as much as I appreciate mdeejays work I do not realy like his builds.(Sorry, just my opinion, had to many problems with them).
I used to have Shubcraft, but was discontinued so now I use hd2one,nexushd2 or other non sense builds.

There isn't such thing as "The Best" all depends on your needs and wishes.
Like conantroutman says at the second post, the best thing to do is to test it by your self. And if you aren't satisfy; you take a other one.
its like asking which is the best colour to put on your room.....its "your" preference.
stable android
I actually had the same question..
maybe better qualifying the question helps:
it would be great if you could recommend ROMs which are easy to install, running smooth directly after installation, no big tweaks needed to get the basics (phone, sms, wireless etc..) running and where you experienced as less glitches as possible.
in other words: a beginner android ROM
of course it's taste and needs which will help choosing the perfect one, but similar to linux distro's it is good to know which of these ROMs out there are for pro's and which are a good point to start (@linux it was ubuntu for me)

Best Rom in your Opinion?

I'm not to sure which rom i should flash as of now and which kernel is best.
I looking forward a CyanogenMod Rom in the near future.
What are your guys suggestions?
Many of my friends swear by x rom, others swear by y rom, and some just go from one to another. I tend to agree with my friends.... I recommend finding one that suits you. This may not want you want as a reply however it is my experience that roms are like clothing..each has different tastes. Each feels different. Yes they are more similar then different but each one is unique. Speed your after...or looks...or functionality. If you are not sure..just pick one and try it out. Make a backup of one you like...try them all. I am not kidding. I am torn now between senseless and synergy. As I type this I am downloading Ava. Flashing is like a addiction that needs to be fixed. I am going thru the same pattern as when the OG evo came out...flashing everything in sight. Then after a while...I simply stick with one. I am a cm fan and used synergy then mik roms.

Well, sense 4, or 3.6? Two very different beasts. Best way to figure it out is to test all of them out.

Fast, smooth, and good looking Sense ROM?
Throw in good battery life and you are describing Nil's Business ICS 4.0.3 Sense 3.6 ROM.
The "best rom" is way to subjective to ask for... and you're really not supposed to make threads about best rome/devs, etc. There are 86,000,000 of them already, and it can piss of developers sometimes.
Not to sound harsh, just keeping it real

I was looking at his. But it's a global Rom which means I can't install sabastianFM kernel... Or am I wrong?

I would recommend ViperRez as a good Sense 4 ROM
I kinda want to stay away from sense 4. I tried it and ride.t really like it.
I think Ima try the latest Neil's business Rom with sabastianFM kernel. If that Dorset work, I'm gonna try an earlier version, if that Dorset work, onto.ceonyogenmod, if that doesn't work, onto stock again. Lol
This is the second thread that you have posted that is similar to this. I wish YZ would close both of the threads that you have opened because he's closed similar ones before. All you need to know is that all of the work that every dev here does is fantastic, and you need to try them on your specific device to know which one you prefer.
There's no "best rom" mate. Everyone has a different "taste". Try the ROMs available and stay on the ROM that fits you the best.
Thread closed,
YZ.

Most popular/Favorite AOSP ROM?

Hey guys, I've been checking out all of the AOSP ROMS our awesome developers created, but I was wondering which one of them you're currently on or prefer. I'm going to make the switch to AOSP after being on the Sense 5 Port for a while, but I'm unsure as to which ROM I should install. What do you guys think? Thanks!
These threads are really frowned upon bro. My opinion is to try them all. That's the fun part about flashing. Every phone reacts differently to each Rom so just jump in and get your flash on!

I'm really digging Slimbean. Extremely lightweight with just the right bonuses added in. Rock solid on my phone.
These type of threads are not allowed. They end up in arguing and flaming that we have to clean up. There are plenty of options, find the one that best suits you.
Thanks,
Jmz
