Hide Sponsored Apps setting - Themer General Discussion

I am curious to know the point of this setting. I turn it on and the sponsored games are still showing. What exactly is this setting hiding?

Hi, the sponsored apps are used to help increase Themer's resources. However we received many complaints from them so we added this option to hide them from your phone. The setting is only used to hide the sponsored apps, or to un-hide them if the user wants.

I am not sure I understand your response. If I turn off the sponsored apps, should I still see your apps such as Candy Crush under my games folder?

You shouldn't still see these apps, if you do, try reinstalling Themer as there might have been a bug during installation.

I uninstalled and reinstalled themer as you suggested. When I choose to hide sponsored apps and look in the games folder, the sponsored apps are still there.

Can't disable all the ASUS apps :(

One of the main reasons I was looking forward to ICS on the Prime was the ability to disable apps without having to install TiBa, etc... turns out only some of the ASUS apps you can disable... others like "App Backup", "App Locker", MyLibrary" etc, won't let you.
Anyone else experiencing this as well?
are you rooted?

No, but that's what I was hoping ICS would let me do... not have to root to disable the ASUS apps. Wonder why some you're able to and some you aren't.

Apps like Google Talk are baked into the ROM and that you can disable... also some things you'd consider a system app from ASUS, you can disable... I can't determine the criteria for what makes one be able to be disabled or not.

The asus apps are "baked" in as well. google apps are no more protected than any integrated apps, its standard "you need root to remove me" software

Best bet would be to remove any apps you didnt get from the market or here. Any other apps found on other site contain this ads as well as worse things like keyloggers and software to upload all info to private servers.
Install this and start turning notifications off until you stop receiving the spam... Simple?

That doesn't solve the issue or protect against what else the app might be doing.

Just delete the app itself? If the problem persists you may have to re flash stock rom (risky) if its really that much of a problem.

Google search update - launcher ads

Hello,
I want to ask if there is any method to remove this annoying ads from latest google launcher. I'm using adaway, but there is still the white rectangle.
Method other than going back to previous version and other than changing launcher.
Xposed + MinMinGuard is good at getting rid of the ad space like that, but...what? Are you sure the ad is from the Google Launcher? I read like 6 different blog sites a day, usually more than once, and have not seen anything about that, and that's something that would be on the front page with plenty of complaints. Don't use it myself because I don't see the appeal at all, but still, Google does not usually do stuff like that. HTC, on the other hand...
Btw. the app drawer changed from horizontal scrolling to vertical too, so I suppose that is from launcher.
That happened from the Google search app update, oddly enough. I couldn't find anyone else mentioning ads in the launcher. Screenshot?
I just installed it to satisfy my curiosity. I don't see any ads. There is an option enabled by default that has app suggestions... Maybe that's it?
Aww maybe that's from seach app update, I'll try to uninstall update to confirm that.

Nevermind, I found the cause of the ads - "Premium wallpapers HD" app was the problem.

Ads displaying on the home screen left swipe

Anybody figured out to stop ads from hijacking the home page left swipe. I don't want ads to display on the home screen or in notifications and somehow miui displays their music ads as shown in the picture. I didn't find any settings to stop ads so I could use help from you guys.
My device is not rooted so can't use any adblockers.
Thanks in advance.

Disable App vault lol there's nothing more u can do about that. Settings>home screen and recents>app vault> disable.
There's an option in miui setup to enable personalized ad recommendations or not, you might have enabled that now find that option in settings, I didn't enable it so I never get to see any kind of ads.
Removing consent to be served these apps would plainly sound a good option (I've never yet used MIUI so I don't know how aggressive their ad service is). Blokada from Google Play is great and doesn't need root - might allow you to block these ads.
I'm hoping there will be some AOSP builds for this phone - MIUI is starting to sound a bit sucky

There's no system wide ads disabling option and I've have never turned on anything like this on my both phones one redmi note 5 pro and this poco. Options are there to not receive recommendation in individual app but I've not seen any option related to app vault.

Thanks I will try this Blokada app that you suggested. Noara999 said to disable ads services from settings menu and I believe this will stop ads app vault.

Disable ANY app notifications including those that normally can't be disabled? NOROOT

Hello. I just have a question that I have been unable to find an answer to. I have found apps which can disable persistent notifications and such and I know how to disable notifications from downloaded apps. However, is there any way to disable notifications that Samsung doesn't allow you to disable by default. I have the AT&T version of the S9+ in case that makes any difference.
Notifications such as?
All apps, barring a few, can be blocked from displaying notifications using native Android settings, without needing any app.
Hmmm. I didn't know that. I guess the ones that I've tried to disable must be the ones Android doesn't want you to, such as certain system UI or Samsung cloud notifications just as two examples. Any known way to disable those, without root.

Try the app "AutoNotifications" on the app store. I used that to get rid of the Gear connection notification which can't be otherwise blocked.
You'll want notification blocking. It's not a paid feature.
Sweet! Seems to be just what I needed. Thank you.
