[Q] [ROM][4.4.2][12/01/14]Beanstalk I9100 Unofficial - Discussion - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi.
I've got a few questions about issues I'm dealing with on this great, fully customisable ROM.
1. What can delay/disturb USB detection after connecting to a PC machine? Once it's detected, once is delayed, whether the USB debugging is ON or OFF, this issue still appears. Everything's going good after detection, no problem with copying files, etc., but everytime it takes mi a few minutes before I can establisha working connection. Any solutions?
2. What can cause problem with my applications syncing? It's the only ROM in which all my applications aren't downloading automaticly after flashing and setting up the account.
Beat me, I've spend a week looking for solutions, so I decided to start a thread and wait for sb to help.
My PC is Windows 8 and my CWM Recovery version is 6.0.4.6

I've solved problem with USB via Terminal Emulator... still having issue with Play Market applications... anyone?

Thanks for your reply. I solved Play Market issue with a TB. Got a new issues...
How to properly flash an Apolo kernel to my Beanstalk ROM. I've checked properly which to install I guess... I drew conclussions from what I read guess I needed one for mali v3 drivers, because Beanstalk is CM-based, so I downloaded Apolo_7.0_CM_Beta2b_Regular-TWRP.zip. I flashed it via CWM and reboot in TWRP, then flashed ROM and PA Gapps. I finished with a 3.0.64_CM CET 2014 in a kernel version, I guess that's stock kernel from ROM. When I try to flash kernal after ROM install I'm getting bootloop. What am I doing wrong?
Second issue is that I can't install newest PA Gapps mini, because I'm getting system partition free space error... Is it normal? Are those the only Gapps to install with this ROM, I mean those pinned to post: pa_gapps-modular-mini-4.4.2-20131215? No e.g. black Gapps?

Android revolution he with siyah boot problem

Hi I'm having trouble with my i9300
I used to have android revolution hd 23.3 installed but I was having problems with keeping 3rd party keyboard a reboot so I did a bit of reading and found that the issue had been fixed in android 4.2.1 so I downloaded android revolution hd 30.5 and ran that from recovery and let the aroma installer wipe my data.
So after it installed I let it do a full boot before I tried to install siyah kernal v1.8.9 when that installed in recovery I tried to reboot my phone it displayed the siyah logo then went black and stayed that way. So the only way to get back on my phone was to reinstall android revolution he but this time I didactic full wipe before installing rom. Still when I tried to install siyah it did the same. So I installed it via Odin and got the same results.
I'm now stuck I cannot install siyah kernal.
I wouldn't be that bothered but my phone doesn't work in my car dock with stock kernal and I like he stweaks apparently as it is the only effective way to remove root so I can open my banking app.
If anybody can help me I'd really appreciate it

[Q] HOX+ International STUCK after Cm10.1 by Lloir

Hi All!
I have an HTC One X+, International. I have decided to try and "play" with it and so I have Unlocked and Rooted and then tried Installing a Custom Rom, based on those instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2213910
Unlock and Root went well, and so installing TWRP (its present).
Then I got here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2067325
After trying to install the ROM (first image then zip - followed the instructions), the device is booting with the CM logo spinning, but then it gives out an "Unfortunately, NFC Service has stopped " error...
Please help!
I tried to go back to the original restore via TWRP - no luck. The HTC screen appears and then stuck in it.

Try and flash another ROM & Image. It appears the ROM might not have been downloaded properly.
BTW what happened after it gave the NFC error? Did you complete the rest of the process and simply restarted the device?
flash the CORRECT kernel! read the op!!!!!!! why do you people not read?! seriously!
full wipe the rom before flashing CM on top of whatever you had before!
the rom works correct! the problem is you
Cant flash another rom

I cant get a new rom to the device - the computer stopped recognizing it and I have no idea how to get a file on it (maybe somehow via the terminal/SDK.bat?).
After it gives the NFC error, there is an "OK' button. I hit it a few times and nothing happens. Then the screen goes off and I cant turn it back on, unless I use the power button/volume down...
I did though tried a different image... same result.

I am assuming you have latest ADB tools installed in your system.
You can use ADB sideload to copy ROM in the phone
When you are pressing the powerbutton + vol down - I hope you are getting to boot loader?

Hi Lloir!
I much appreciate the personnel response and the time you took to reply to me.
Before I had the original HOX+ rom+sense and I believe I DID a full wipe
I flashed the kernel from your post. I believe that my lack of knowledge lead me to download the wrong one (?) boot-BLADE-42-201305062233
Would you be so kind and please guide me to the correct steps? I have spent several hours allready trying to fix this issue.
Once again, your (and everyone else`s) help is MUCH appreciated!

sorry for my ranty response: anyway
the kernel you need is boot-BLADE-CM10.1-whateverdatehere
not the 42 kernels, those are for AOSP\PA\AOKP
soon this won't be an issue

This was FAST answer!
I see my mistake (reading comprehension) :
CM10 - for 4.1 based roms e.g. CM10 and AOKP 4.1.2
CM10.1 - ONLY for CM10.1
42 - 4.2 based roms e.g. AOKP 4.2.1 and AOSP 4.2.1
I thought that your ROM is based on the 4.2 (?)
Downloading the Kernel now.
By the way, when and how do I add the gapps?
flash kernel
flash rom
after rom flash the gapps

Thank you. I already flashed kernel and rom. Phone booted up and seem to work. A few issues:
1) I did not put the gapps zip on the phone before the process.
2) Though the phone appears as a drive in Windows, I can not copy any file to it.
3) Camera says NO SD Card and exits....
Thank you for your help!

Thank you! What do I do AFTER I get the gapps.zip to the phone? what do I do with the TWRP?
Is this what I should do to get the zip to the phone:
Set the device into ADB sideload mode. In TWRP you do this by going to Advanced then ADB Sideload.
From the command line, type adb sideload /path/to/rom.zip

New S3 International - Error 7 while trying to flash first Cyanogen Rom

Heres what I have done so far

- Flashed TWRP 2.3.3.0
- Downloaded latest nightly rom
- Factory Reset
- Install rom
It starts the install and then flashes up an error 7. I then have to do a restore to get the phone usable again. Did not see this error in forum and wondered if anyone knew anything about it?
Thanks in advance.

If you update your TWRP install to the latest version, (2.6.3.1), you'll be able to flash CM11 with no problems.
My issues are now resolved. I thought I would post for anyone else who finds themselves in this situation.
I used the Samsung Galaxy GS3 Toolkit to root my phone. The issue with this was that both options for recovery were out of date!
I flashed the latest clockwork mod and worked perfectly.
Thanks everyone that posted for your assistance!

[Q] Where to download CM Specific Basic Kernel v3.0

Hi!
I use the ROM CyanogenMod 7.2 - BroadcomCM [COOPERVE] [RC 4 - 16/08/2013]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2080065
and ThunderKernel 2.1 [UPDATE 22/10/2013]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2335947
and have a few issues with this combination.
I actually wanted to use the recommended kernel for this ROM which is CM Specific Basic Kernel v3.0, but I cannot find it anywhere to download.
In the thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2253010
there are only download links for version 4.0, but my phone won't boot the ROM with version 4.0 of the kernel...
I would love if bieltv.3 could offer the old version for download or if someone could point me to where I can download the old version.
Thanks!
u can use version 4
its better than v3

the post is old that's why it is saying to install V3.
But V4 is better than V3 and resolved many bugs and have faster bootup.
So my recommendation is to use v4 rather than v3
Thank you for your kind replies. The only trouble is that with v4 of the kernel my phone won't boot the ROM. It always gets stuck on the boot screen (while displaying its name Samsung GT-S5830i...". (Sorry, I forgot to mention that in my previous post...) I was hoping that with v3 I could manage to boot.
However, I might have some hardware issue. I bought the phone a few days ago for next to nothing with a shattered display glass (still usable) and immediately rooted it and installed CM7.2 RC4 without having tested the phone thoroughly on stock ROM...

Fix (Not official but worked for me)

Then do not reboot.

The flashing of CM Specific Basic Kernel v4 takes less than 5 seconds in my case. It seems more like 2 seconds. I tried several times and it definitely is shorter than 5 seconds.

No, I did not format in ext4, I followed this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44868197
and formatted /system, /data, /cache to RFS before flashing the kernel and then the ROM. The reason was that after the first install I was not able to download anything from the Play Store. The procedure described in the post seemed to have solved the issue.

Thank you very much for the great instructions. Just one question: I have permanent cwm recovery which I got when flashing the bieltv.3 v4 kernel for the first time on a stock phone trying to install -- I believe -- Slim ROM CM7.2. (Actually, I don't remember which guide I was following exactly.) Will your method work now that I already have a permanent cwm recovery or should I go back to stock ROM or stock recovery and then follow your instructions?

Sorry for the late reply, I was traveling without my laptop and wanted to back up everything before reflashing the ROM.
The good news: It worked! Great!
The only difference I made was to install the fix for the app store first and then the gapps package for CM7.2. When I did it the other way around, I had no play store on the phone.

My phone is s4 non lte plz help
Sounds like you might be trying to use Open Gapps. The Official CM12.1 thread for your phone suggested the TK Gapps found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/tk-gapps-t3116347 - Either mini or micro. They are a bit out dated, but they should work and you can just update once everything is set up.
Not working
Sorry friend it dosent work for me as i had already tried tk gapps and open gapps and pa today but i don know what the problem is just flashed the rom properly 12.1 cm nightly latest its not my first time though..
thx
maybe some one could seriously help me
Could be the recovery you are using. Are you wiping /system partition when reflashing CM + Gapps? You might also look into one of the optimized builds of CM, such as GearCM as well.
yes I am wiping dalvik and everything before flashing the gapps and rom and also I had seen many vids on YouTube regarding cm12.1 on s4 i9500 and downloaded from the YouTube link provided and follow the same procedure as they do but unfortunately I messed up don't know why.....
oh and one thing can you tell me is there any harm if I flash my phone multiple times... any storage disk issues.. like slowing and any ram issues??
i hope this help you:
download the latest cm12.1 for s4
and flash latest twrp recovery for this device
now go to google and search for "open gapps"
and select the open gapps project then
select "arm" and "5.1" and "pico" and download it
then go to device recovery and advanced wipe to system, cache, data and dalvik
and flash the cm first then flash the opengapps good luck

Don't worry flashing roms is very simple process it is only remove files and copy new files
if you flash a new rom even more than 1000 time your device will not be bricked
good luck

As i said installing rom for android device doesn't effect on the device performance
and the never cause any slowing for disks except if the rom you installed was too bad this is another problem
however, don't worry if your device bricked or any else just power it off and boot to download mode then
flash the latest lolllipop 5.0 stock tar.md5 rom and every thing will be ok!
remember DON'T WORRY

I mentioned a possible recovery issue in post #4. Glad you resolved it though.
