I'm in the UK and got my one max on day of release and i have say I have become more and more frustrated with it. I love watching my movies and decided to get some ultraviolet movies, the only app in the UK that plays them here is flixster, which is not compatible. I am a sky customer and I can't use sky go because it's not compatible. I can't download from BBC iPlayer because its not compatible and its the same issue on and on. My old s4 which my partner has plays it all, and even my son's kobo arc. Come on devs and HTC sort this out

I excepted it with my butterfly s as it's not a phone released in the UK but I don't expect this from the max. The 2 apps th I am mising most a're sky go and gta San Andreas. I think we will have to wait and see if sky update their sky go app. Watching the footy on the max will be awesome. Although I disagree with you that the fault lies with HTC.
I think it's the app developers that need to to be told.

Can't you guys just side load it or do a mod/hack? i am not in the UK and i don't know what exactly is preventing you to do that, but i guess it can be fixed using mods - example - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1839871
Searching on the forum ( HTC one forums) might take you nearer to what you want.

Not htc. Must be country specific. I have san andreas available to install on my verizon Max running stock.

I just got GTA III 10-Year Anniversary but cannot use it until I get home. It wants another 432Gb of data over WiFi. Oh well............
I can see it in the market and already downloaded it. I've only played a few minutes of it but it works great so far. its on sale for $3 now. I know for a fact the photon is one of the few supported devices. If you can't see it on your phone's market then i suggest trying the android market website
Its up now and on sale till the 29th. I can see it on Market and Amazon. I'm on stock rooted latest OTA. It runs fine on the tegra 2. BTW, check out the disabled effects you can enable here:

I have need for speed hot pursuit, madden 12, and sim city I purchased from the market they all download, install and play fine on my captivate, but they won't download data the additional data on the flyer. Sim city and madden get to the download part and stay on 0% the whole time, hot pursuit says there is a server error and closes. What's the deal here? Anyone else have this problem?

I just attempted to use live chat for the issue. I tried Need for speed hot pursuit, and it didn't have the android version as an option for support, so I just selected PC, and when I got in the chat I told him I don't have an issue with the PC version, I am having an issue with the Android version, and he eventually told me he esculated the issue to the appropriate department and they'll contact me by e-mail within the next 24 hours...so yeah i got nowhere.
If there's anything I learned from EA, its that they don't take android seriously at all. Their support is terrible, and they literally let their games be broken for months before they release a patch that fixes the issue, but breaks many other aspects of the game. I actually uninstalled NFS shift on my Captivate because of that. One update broke the steering, and a month went by without a patch, and then they finally updated it, and after the update it no longer worked on my phone, force closed everytime I tried to race. I eventually just uninstalled it.
This is irritating though...I was looking forward to playing these games on a large screen!

Even that doesn't always work...
EA is making me mad. I mean I also contacted Rockstar on why GTA 3 isn't showing up in the market, and I got an e-mail back from them in an hour explaining they are testing it on a per device basis and haven't made it available to the flyer yet because they haven't tested it yet. I also contacted Gameloft yesterday about Nova 2 not showing up in the market and they contacted me back today stating it was an error with the market, and gave me a link for a direct download. EA? I e-mailed them 2 days ago and I've heard nothing back!
IF I had to guess I'd say alot of developers figure there aren't a whole lot of honeycomb devices anyway and Android is moving on to ICS anyway so they just didn't bother to port or get there stuff working right on honeycomb. I"m thinking ICS will fix most of the issues.
Well, I moved back to gingerbread to get my games working. I found a launcher that looks great on gingerbread (see picture near the end of the themes page)- and i haven't looked back.
Btw, would you be able to share the link for nova2? I bought it for my cappy, but it doesn't show up in my market. Actually wanted a tablet to enjoy that game better. I stopped playing it till I got a tab. Then it wasnt available!! Grrrr

Yeah its seeming thats the only way. I really do like honeycomb alot though, hate to go back. I just tried cutting and pasting the sim city game data from my captivate to the flyer, and it fires up, shows the ea logo, and then instantly closes. I think I give up for now. Would be nice if EA wern't such sorry asses and would fix this stuff, but apparently for now the only way is to downgrade to gingerbread.
I found a link on Google that had the additional data for sims. I researched the nan issue when downloading to find it. But id think the captivate one would work anyway. Someone's I wish I could dual boot hc or gb.

Oh god yes ea doesn't take their mobile division seriously at all. You have to email and wait for a response. You can't use live support or call them. And if you email them using the developer contact information in the Google play store they tell you to go to their support site. I never even got a response from them but you just got a canned answer anyway. Makes me wanna boycott their mobile games honestly

I've been through the same old rigmorole with EA games.
Most games work on my Sensation XE, but not on the Flyer.
They're development department can't be bothered to make these games work on the flyer in my opinion.
Tiger Woods 12 and Bejeweled 2 would be awesome on the Flyer.

Really screw ea, the issue is ea not the flyer. They pretty much have an email account no one checks for mobile support. You can call them or use live chat for consoles and pcs but they really don't care about mobile games

Has anyone got this to work on our phones? I have GTA III on my phone and it works flawlessly, yet on Vice City, whenever I get into a car and drive, the whole game locks up and I have to do a battery pull. It's quite annoying. All I wanna do is play the game.
I think many phones are having this issue. It seems to be a prob with the adreno 220 gpu

Is that why it's not supported for our devices? Is there a way around it or no? I tried installing the lite (lag free) version and it worked for awhile longer then froze again. I really want this on my phone.

Edit.....tried it, played for 5 mins then my phone locked up and rebooted
Same here, only thing is, it didn't even last for 5 minutes... I even enabled my 2nd core, over clocked it to 1556 and over clocked the gpu and same problem. Like I said, gta iii works like a charm but vice city just locks up. I don't know if I'm downloading the wrong data or the wrong apk, it just doesn't work.

It is compatible with HTC Rezound, same hardware but much higher screen resolution. So it should work better on our phones than Rezound as 3D's screen resolution is less.
I also installed GTA VC on Atrix 2 ICS 4.0.4 stock. It froze on it too while entering a vehicle and returned to homescreen even though it is compatible with Atrix 2. On Jellybean,it worked fine but with stuttering sound.
Jumping in to say I'm experiencing the same as the OP. Waiting for an update...

It isn't compatible with the Evo LTE either, though GTA 3 is and plays perfectly fine. Not a big deal for me, as I bought it for my Asus Infinity (TF700T) and it plays great on it. One of my main reasons for having tablets is for gaming. I'm just surprised that Vice City isn't compatible with more devices since GTA3 is.

It worked on my Evo LTE when I had ICS, since the JB update everytime I get in the car I get stuck, I'm theoretically moving but not physically moving. The game I downloaded was warez since its not compatible with my phone. I'm going to try to download the original 1.0.0 version and not the 1.0.1 and post my results

Are both GTA 3 and VC compatible with our phone on play store? It says not compatible with mine. Our phones are better than Xperia Play and same as HTC rezound (except screen resolution) then why are they not combatible? I guess HTC rezound plays them fine.
The Play Store lists GTA: Vice City as not compatible with my LG-E970. Yet, GTA: III is compatible, and Vice City is even it is compatible with my Acer A500 with a measly Tegra 2. I can't for the life of me understand why this game wouldn't be compatible with the OG.
Anyone have any insight into this?

The most confusing thing about this is that it's compatible with the Nexus 4 ! It's literally the exact same hardware, creating a port seems like an extremely easy task for Rockstar to do. Perhaps LG has to communicate with the publishers, regardless it's very disappointing to know that my superior phone can't run the same games my friends can for no valid reason.
Anyone think a build.prop edit would change that problem?

MrZim4, if you try a build.prop edit please let us know the outcome. I'm guessing it'll work as long as it tricks the Play Store into thinking the OG is an N4.

Have you tried changing build.prop to a different or similar LG or another android phone/tablet that is compatible with this game that also has similar hardware I would almost bet the dual core snap dragon android phones will work just edit the device name in build.prop unfortunately they don't update the device compatibility fast enough per app/game but this mod should work, it has in the past say for example to play certain games on the HTC one x I had to change device name to replicate another android I think the HTC one s and compatibility issue went away in market. I'm actually looking to do this for gameloft live which lol is not compatible with this device but will work.

If you really want to get GTA VC working you'll have to download the apk and sd data from a 3rd party site. I've tested this and it works fine. Only do this if you have previously purchased GTA VC on the Google market.

Purchase and install it on your A500 then pull the apk from /data/app and the obb folder from internalstorage/Android/obb and copy them to your phone in the corresponding folders. I think the asec file might be needed, too.

I can't get this to run on my Droid DNA, I'm wondering if anyone else is having or has had issues with it and worked past it.
Game downloads fine. Installs fine. It starts, I get the Rockstar info page. Then it goes to the rockstar social page. I can sign in. Then it goes from that to the screen with the grand theft auto logo and a loading circle. And then the screen just goes dark and stays that way. No errors, no messages, no sounds, just dark.
I have ViperDNA 2.0.3 and no ideas why this isn't working.
I can't really test for you because I haven't bought the game but viperdna 2.0.3 is a port of ViperOne so some things may not work properly. I think the latest version is 2.5 which is based off of the stock DNA sense 5 ROM. Have you tried the latest version?

I was under the impression that the version o ViperDNA that I have was the latest and greatest. This version I'm using says that it's based on Sense 5. I'll have a looksee on the version you mentioned.

It seems like the newest version doesn't work with the GT-N7000. It seems version 1.01 works. So you may need to track that down.
