I have 2 Galaxy S3's activated on Net10--mine is a GT-i9300 and my wife's is a SGH-i747. My mobile data performance has been intermittent since joining early last month. Their phone support has been provisioning me with the "att.mnvo" APN settings while my wife's phone got the "tfdata" set. Hers won't work on mine and mine wont work on hers. I've asked repeatedly here for help understanding why this is so but haven't gotten any help.
Monday afternoon my mobile data quit again so I made another call to Net10 when I got home (so far I've been on the phone with them 197 minutes in 6 weeks). THIS time they gave me the "tfdata" settings. It worked--even though I had tried that set as recently as Friday. THIS tech THIS time told me these settings will NOW be permanent. I'm doubting.
IF anybody understands how this works PLEASE clue me in why it works like this.
Please.

Hi:
I have a grandfathered data plan (updated from MediaMax when I got my original 3G phone).
When I purchased the GS2, the person removed it, and replaced it with a new data plan, and no text/mms plan (without my knowledge or consent). Well, I just now realized that I wasn't receiving or sending texts.
I called AT&T, who explained he had removed my grandfathered unlimited data+1500 sms/mms, after an hour and a half on the phone they were able to get my plan back on.
Well, after I hung up, I realized that my internet isn't working, so I called back.
After troubleshooting for an hour, the tech support guy said the reason my internet won't work is that I need a new high speed data plan, and that my grandfathered plan (which worked fine on my Captivate) won't work.
He wanted me to pay the same amount, but for half the minutes etc.
Is this true? I feel like he was lying to me.
I haven't heard of anyone else having problems with grandfathered plans.
Is it worth me arguing more with AT&T, or will they all tell me that a new plan is required?
Thanks!
UPDATE:
After I kept searching, I decided to try some new settings just in case.
I found settings here: http://www.unlock-htc.com/procedures/activate.php
Everything's working perfectly now. Just as I suspected the AT&T rep was a rotten liar. I had a gut feeling he was making up stories just because he didn't know how to get my internet working.
Anyway, hopefully this will help someone in a similar predicament.
I basically had the same problem, when I got my SGSII I immediately flashed the phone, did not even put the SIM in first. After I got it set up the way I wanted it I put the SIM in from my Captivate, I had no data. I wiped the device figuring I screwed something up and when it booted back up back to stock data still did not work. What I then did was check the APN and noticed it was different, so I created a new one based on the one from my Captivate and got my data working. I went to the AT&T store a few days later and asked about it, first they told me I needed a 4G SIM card. They changed my SIM and I tested it with the original APN from the phone, still had nothing. He then realized that I needed to have a 4G data plan, the 3G data plan I had was not compatible with the 4G phone, he changed my unlimited 3G plan to an unlimited 4G plan and everything worked, actually started getting better speeds as well. Only reason I even cared was I did not want to play with the APN every time I flashed a new ROM.
Hello everyone, I bought a Verizon S4 a little over a week ago. I put in my ATT simcard and it worked fine. I added the ATT APN settings and it worked. I was getting 4g. A few days ago, I was trying to see what LTE speeds I can get in my area, so I put it in my Note 2. It worked, I put it back into my S4. That's when the Data stopped working. I scrutinized my APN settings and nothing worked. I talked to ATT tech support and they don't know either. The data works on my Note. And the weird thing is I'm still able to receive MMS without wifi/data. Can any of you help me? I'd be utterly grateful! Thanks!
My stock, unrooted Verizon Galaxy Note 2 stopped making and receiving calls this past Monday. But only calls are effected. 4G and Text are fine. Went through the usual battery of Verizon troubleshooting steps with no luck. Did the soft reset, hard reset, replaced sim, switched between LTE/CDMA & Global networks, danced on my toes, and twirled like a ballerina. Verizon said it was their network and that it thought the device was asleep. Then they said it a faulty sim. Then poor reception. And....... And..... And...... Finally today they pointed me to the nearest store to buy a new phone. Anyone else ever just have the phone stop making calls? Calls worked Sunday night and did not work Monday morning. Very Perplexing. :silly:
Preface I am not an android fan at all....Despise it, but my mom uses Android and is having some issues and I can use some help/advice
She has had the desire 610 for about 3 or so months now, using it on At&t Gophone. She has been moderately happy with the phone aside from the camera. However, as of late she seems to be having some issues here lately with the data.
Sometime, even when she is out in the middle of the city with 4G her data is not working at all...No FB notifications, No Emails, etc etc and then suddenly they will come back in.
Twice(including tonight) she has found herself lost because her Google navigation crashes/closes and wont work(her words....I am not entirely sure the issue). However, when she showed me just now the GPS worked fine when I typed in the location.
I did call Att a few weeks back and they told me to turn the mobile data off for a few seconds and then back on...that somehow fixed it.
She said she tried to do that and turn the phone off and then back on and it still wasn't working. She claims it works fine when she gets back home...she keeps saying it is because of the wifi and I am like "No wifi has nothing to do with it"
Is it her phone(the Desire 610) or the Att gophone service.
We used att postpaid and they are the same company/network and I never had these issues with postpaid but she is having this issues a bit much now with goPhone.
its kinda hard to tell without the phone. I have a 2 year contract with the desire 610 and it works perfectly fine, although it could be a hardware issue, the gophone service or even that the service does not come in good in the city where u live ( which is highly unlikely). my guess is that it would be the plan
For those using your Z3TC as a phone - what carrier are you currently on?
Shortly after I bought the Z3TC, T-Mobile suddenly classified it as a tablet and I ported to AT&T. I ended up on Cricket for awhile and then MetroPCS. I recently took advantage of Mintsim's Black Friday deal. Mintsim operates on the T-Mobile network and is essentially a Costco approach to wireless; with taxes I paid about $81 up front for six months of talk, text, and 10GBs of LTE data each month. It is really an unbeatable deal.
So anyways, tonight I finally got around to activating my Mintsim account, and porting my number from MetroPCS. (UPDATE I got my account number wrong when porting, didn't realize the port didn't go thru, got that sorted out and data now works...I can now recommend Mintsim). And I can talk and text but...data does not work. I get prompted to 'sign in' to the network and forwarded to a T-Mobile webpage telling me that my data plan is incompatible with my device. Bummer...
So now, chances are I need to port elsewhere asap. Any ideas? AT&Ts network is less than ideal, MetroPCS isn't the greatest value out there.
The other option is to switch to the Samsung T719, but...would it be a big improvement? Z3TC is getting old, but it works well for me and there aren't many other true phablets out there...
I wanted to add that my first post was premature. It turns out my port never went through properly. I'll report back - if Mintsim works it is by far the best value out there.
Up and running. I am stupid, so far Mintsim rocks.
I don't know what you are talking about but I still love but Xperiaz3tc

Yes. I think it works on all T-Mo MVNOs
