My phone keeps telling me it's running out of System Space but when I go into settings and look at the storage settings it shows this.

Look for recovery backups in data-media.
Available internal storage too low. If it gets below 375ish you'll get that notification.
Sent from my Optimus G using xda app-developers app
But look at how much available space the bar shows, and I added up all the "used" space and it's just under 8gb. Also no recovery backups :/
Sent from my Optimus G using Tapatalk
Did you hit refresh next to the bar graph or power cycle? The categories below that won't show all data on the internal sd, there are partitions and hidden files and folders that don't factor in to it, it'll never equal the 11.30 gigs.
Sent from my Optimus G using xda app-developers app
Yes I did refresh and yes I have power cycled, I have tried flashing different roms, completely formated my internal before.
Sent from my Optimus G using Tapatalk
And I know it won't be exactly equal, but it should be close right? Not many gbs off...
Sent from my Optimus G using Tapatalk
Not necessarily, there can be quite a discrepancy...

If you have games that store a lot of data, or download a bunch after install it won't show in the settings screen. You may find it in android-data or android-obb.

I was playing around with ics Rom on my phone, when I went into data usage I noticed that a process called "touch input" was using data. I never agreed to send data, so why is this there?
Running nocturnal xi36 ics
I can upload screens if needed

Mine too, I'm using a sense 4 mod keyboard which shows as "internal settings". I don't see why it would need to send data....

I don't know why it would need to send data either???
Is this a key logger replacement for CARRIER IQ?
There is a setting to restrict "Data on mobile networks" But it still sends data on WiFi. It's only a small amount, maybe its backing up keyboard settings to google?
Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515m using Tapatalk 2
I don't think it backing up setting cause my data usage is half of yours
smh ooooh lord HTC has some control issues lol... how do you key log ppl.!!!???

Really? Hmm is there an app that can deny system processes web access....????
Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515m using Tapatalk 2
I know Rom toolbox pro has some features in it that allow you to freeze push ads. Maybe this will work to stop this. You go into the app manager portion of Rom toolbox and long press and choose advanced freeze. It will bring up a list of services and click away lol
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk 2
Stopping it is good, but we still need to know why its sending data.
It bothers me that it just does it and we have no clue what it sends or to whom its sending it to, and no opt-out.

Even stopping data through Rom toolbox it still sends data.

Have you tried CPU Sleeper?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1745516
I used to have similar problems that you are currently having, but they stopped after installing that app. It does an awesome job of preserving battery life when the phone is on standby. I also used Titanium backup to freeze some apps that I dont use. The list can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1783132
I am running the Rogers stock rom (rooted) + CPU Sleeper. Feel free to PM me if you need more info or have any questions.
Been playing around more it seems to be the root causing it.. what root are you using?

That is the root method that I followed.
Why does this keep popping up and how do I remove it. It pops up every few seconds even when I hit clear. I don't like seeing a battery symbol up there if my battery gets below 30%!
Thanks.

Do you have avg antivirus installed? I used too and after every perccent drop it would pop back up
Via LG OG running Rootbox 4.2.2
Looks like you have jb. Long press on the notification until you get the little menu.choose app info and you will see what is generating it. You can also disable the notification from there.

I have 95 and I thought I had a good amount.
Lets see here my app drawer is 5×7×8.5 tabs long so around 450 total. I used to have 600+ but deleted some cuz i never played some or just lost interest. Im sure ill have that much and possibly more when we start seeing bigger internal storage phones being released.. 32-64gb the norm instead of just plain ol 16gb.
Yes i do actually play and use all 450 of my apps/games this way i have plenty of variety and never get bored of the same ol game or app lol.

Wow, holy crap lol! How long does your Play Store app list take to load up? At 227, it takes a good 10 seconds or so for me.

If you guys would have looked closely, it asks if you want to share data with TMobile to better assist with diagnostics. After reading these posts, I chose to NOT accept, or decline. After decline, the TMobile app still opens up normally and says NO data is shared with TMobile at the top and when I run device health, it says basically healthy etc with NO messages about rooted device :good:
Each time the app is opened, I make sure I choose decline and then I know TMobile has no clue......
It also states results will not be shared with tmobile. Guess I'll have to wait to find out.
Sent from my SM-G900T using xda app-developers app
thats why i always decline when they ask to share data or other diagnostics info, and one of the main reasons i root my devices, to get rid of this apps.. i dont care about warranty, i just want to be free to do what i want with my device without worrying about them having me on check.
