go back to .532?
If its that important, then the upgrade to .290 is not major anyway.

The update is on its way.. Just be patient.. You'll have a pop-up within a week or so..

Under 290, I was experiencing frame dropouts when streaming audio. And the occasional disconnect / reconnect with no apparent reason (my ZU was always within 100cm of the bluetooth device when this happened so it wasn't due to distance)
To experience what I'm talking about where the frame dropouts are concerned, grab an audio file, and open it in your favourite audio editor (I like Audacity), zoom into a section as far as you can, select one line and delete it, save it (renaming or in a new location), and listen to it, specifically in the section that you edited. Hear that click? Well, I was hearing a lot of those on perfect audio files, either streamed from my PC via Subsonic, Pandora or any other internet radio, it didn't occur straight away, it took a little time, and got worse as it went on, which in my limited experience, seems that it was caused by a memory leak, stack overflow.
With 136 those are gone.

Ah okay... About the disconnects I get them too.. I thought it was my sbh52's fault :-o
So I'll have to update to get the rid of those.. Thank you :-o
And about the second thing, I don't have any issues while playing songs through bluetooth, the sound is clear.. (or maybe my ears are not good enough to hear the bad parts )

April 1st update released! GPS and wifi issues solved!!

Hello Prime owners! Asus has just released the 04012012 update with the following fixes:
-GPS issues fixed!! GPS chip power flow enhanced, can now lock on while you are on the toilet! However, it is recommended that you open a window as using the toilet can interfere with the gps signal.
- Face unlock added! Just stare at the Prime's front camera and the Prime will open or be turned off based off your looks! Best to use after a morning shower as ugly looks can cause the Prime to reboot in disgust.
- Wifi has been completely fixed!! The Prime can now pick up a perfect signal 300 feet from your router. Signal can be enhanced if yuo gently rub the center of the screen with a circular motion.
- Battery life increased! Battery can now last two days in a singal charge. to activate this power feature, simply hold down the power button an select shut down. The prime will beep with a confirmation of the power saving mode being activated!
- Random reboots fixed! no ore rebooting when watching long sessions of porn via the web browser. Now you can stream safely without stopping your strokes with your right hand (or left)
The update will be released in the next hour or so in Europe, Germany, Africa, china and Iraq followed lastly to the U.S.
Also, Gary has chosen to pass on any secret info to me first, so I am now the official Asus contact person!!
Love you guys!

Hmm, that's odd as its working fine for me. Let me ask, did your dinner last night include beans by any chance?? I think the chemicals produce by beams are strong enough to still cause a weak GPS signal.

[Q] Problem with headphone jack

I have an issue with the headphone jack. I use third party headphones (I dont have the stock Sony ones) and when I plug them in, the sound comes out of the phone's external speaker most of the time. I get the symbol in the status bar to say 'Headset connected'. Sometimes the sound DOES come out of the headphones but seemingly randomly! Tried different headphones and applications on the phone. I have used Sony's Update Service software to download and reinstall the latest ROM but this has not fixed the problem.. My Ultra is on 4.4.2, buildd number: 14.3.A.0.757
Anyone had this issue?
Thanks!
I didnt have this issue by my c6802 and a stock headphone with rom version as you have, before i heared some peaple had this problem with other version(lower build number,i think) maybe this is of your nonstock headphone. Why didnt update to newer 14.4.a.0.108? Maybe it disapear againe.

if you feel comfortable you could flash a generic FTF so you are on the latest 4.4.4 (xxxx.108) firmware from sony. You dont have to be rooted to do this.

Yes I could do that but only worth it really if it actuall resolves the problem. I had a Z ultra last year and that one didn't have this issue. I think I will give that 4.4.4 a go this weekend - do you know if it would affect warranty at all?
Thanks

It might, depending on the service centre.
Have a search about speaker/headset issues, I think it only affected 4.4.2 and that was updated quite quick and resolved the issue for most people that had the problem

believe me it has for almost all users (the ones that haven't fixed the issue probably have a user error). there would still be outcry on here if it hadn't
Yes i have some apple earpods which work some of the time and some Astro A30s which dont work at all.

happened to me after having xzu for 3 or so months - I got a new warranty replacement (had a 6802, received a new 6833 ftw)
This happened once last week when I plugged the stock earplugs in when I also received a message, and it played the audio through the external speakers. I unplugged it and plugged it again, and it was back to normal. Probably a glitch in the matrix.
I have a C6833 and this problem started a few months back with my device.
Now it happens about every time I pause the music. When I hit play or resume the audio is coming from the internal speaker so I have to unplug the cable and plug it back in and that solves the problem at least for the moment. Some days my device does what it suppose to do just great. And other periods it just sends the stream back to the internal speaker all the time whenever I pause the music.
I have flashed the latest .108 but problem still exists. It might be some error with the hardware what do I know. For now I won't take the time to send it in for service. Perhaps I will send it to repair right before my warranty expires just to make some use of it
I use the stock headphones, and some Apple just some generic Apple earphones that you receive in the box when you buy an Iphone 5 or later
I have the sbh52 and the headphones that came with that work perfectly so far. Apple earpods work some of the time and Astro A30s dont work at all. Whuch makes me think its software.

Good here too. Clear and loud both ends.
Never been a problem since 402, actually.
mines as good as usual
Ok, sounds like it is a hardware problem then. If it was good it's still good and if it was bad it didn't get any better with this upgrade. Sad to here, mine just came back from repair and the only thing they did was an upgrade and reset. Didn't make any difference for me, still not good call quality on my end, no one has ever complained about how I sound so my problem is my speaker.

It actually sounds a lot better, in my opinion.

The only problem with call quality I've had is that the other person can sometimes hear an echo of themselves when using the speaker phone. Other than that, I find everything sounding great!

What the hell is wrong with the bluetooth on this thing???

I can not figure out for the life of me why this is an issue on my Verizon V10. I have an alpine radio in my car, and whenever play music with my V10 to the radio over bluetooth, it skips all the time and it gets very very annoying. Sometimes a restart fixes this, sometimes clearing the cache for the bluetooth fixes this, but it always comes back. I do not know if it does this with calls as well. It does it with every bluetooth device I have connected to it. My radio being the most used one. I have done a factory reset, and hat has done nothing for me. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I have the same issue and cannot figure it out. Quite frustrating. Please update if you figure anything out and I will do the same.
I had issues. I ended up calling Verizon as I had issues even installing updates! I had to factory reset a crap load of times and it was pissing me off. I have since contacted LG. The phone was under factory warranty so I sent it back to them and they "re-calibrated my gps" and re-provisioned the phone to meet factory specifications. Now 2 weeks in it seems to have fixed the Bluetooth issue. Hoping it doesn't come back. By the way, this is the second LG V10. The first one was so bad Verizon swapped out the phone for me.
It's a software issue with 6.0 which was fixed with 6.0.1 which was released by Google in December of 2015 which we haven't gotten 14 months later.

So it is a software issue huh? The way it acts would make it seem like a hardware problem, but anything is possible with this thing apparently.
I have the same troubles too. It will cut out for a second her and there. In my car AND with my LG Tones. I could be playing music or a podcast. I could have the phone less than a foot away with no obstructions and it still cuts out. Pretty Suresh it's not a hardware issue.

I keep reading on different sites that nougat may be around the corner. If that is the case then I hope it gets fixed.
To the best of my knowledge it was fixed in 6.0.1 which was released 4 months BEFORE the V10 got 6.0.
Ya never know, it could have been broken in 7.0 and I HIGHLY DOUBT we'll get 7.1.1.
Sent from my VS990 using Tapatalk
Maybe it's just placebo, but after pondering/testing this exact question since I got this phone the day it released, seems to me that closing chrome has the most positive influence on bluetooth quality. I tend to close everything but messenger and jetAudio just to make myself feel better. Also noticed that poweramp didn't work as well as jA under any circumstances. Test your running apps, test your music app. Just my .02
Had big expectations for this phone.. Bluetooth issues, screen burn-in, no root (yet), no oem nougat still, kind of let down

Bluetooth crackling/static

Is anyone else having an issue when streaming music via Bluetooth? It sounds like static/crackling, kinda like the audio is being clipped at the higher end.
I just got the phone on Monday so I have time to try and exchange it if it could be a bad phone. Just not sure if it is a common issue or not.
Sent from my VS988 using Tapatalk
It could also be your Bluetooth device. try yhe device with other phones and see if the static persists. make sure you test 1 to 3 songs across the devices and make sure the songs are the same.

I too came from a V10. my V10 had plenty of problems, my Beats Solo 2 wireless would crack a lot, as well as my Jaybirds x2. once I got my G6 the only cracking I got was when I stepped out of rage. anyways I'm just saying to test things out with multiple devices, multiple Bluetooth devices would be ideal as well. don't just quickly assume it's not something. doesn't matter if it's a car or not tech is tech and some of it may be defected.

I can try other things but so far it does the exact same thing in my car and my wife's car. I am fairly certain it is related to the phone.

Just tried it with one of my Bluetooth speakers and I get the same issue. It almost seems like the more stuff connected to Bluetooth the worse it is.
So far it seems like it isn't as bad when I am not wearing my smart watch. I might try it with my fit bit disconnected too to test that theory.

I haven't had any issues with BT on my VS988.
So i just exchanged the phone for a new oneand have the same issue. It is definitely something related to the phoneand how it handles bluetooth because my V10 with the same apps and devices doesn't have this issue.

I had the same problem and exchanged phones –after adding things Lil by Lil I had the same issue and narrowed it down to my Samsung smart watch - when I disabled the watch or the gear software it would stream fine – after a lil while with phone I'm realizing it is VERY VERY VERY BUGGY and VERY VERY VERY SLOW and Verizon's service is too

Yea, it somehow seems related to my watch too (Huawei), but I am not sure if it is the watch or just the fact that it is always using the Bluetooth as well.

It does kinda suck, but I have a feeling it has to do with Android Wear app. So I think at some point I am going to do a factory reset and only install apps that don't use Bluetooth at all and then keep installing one at a time to see if I can narrow it down.

I'm pretty sure it's a bug with the phone's bluetooth. It happens to me when connected to my Android Wear watch. If I turn off my watch, the crackling stops.
Yea, I am pretty positive it is Android Wear/Smart Watch related. I unpaired my watch from my phone and uninstalled Android Wear and the issue seems gone.
Weird.
EDIT: Nevermind, it's still there, it was better for a while.

LG & Verizon (SMH)
The Bluetooth is TERIBLE on these phones - The BLE doesn't work and too many devices paired (especially smart watches) messing up streaming something Awful. There are MANY software bugs especially using google music and many other programs/apps - the longer you use the phone to more the bugs will standout, but in LG's defense they have issued a software update, but with Verizon there's Really No Telling when will get it (if we get it)

How do you know LG issued an update? What's weird is my old V10 didn't have this issue, I wonder if it is Nougat related.
