Dear members,
I have been installing and using custom roms on my i9300 (32gb) for over a year now. just a few days ago, i installed a stock rom through odin after encountering a problem with wifi from one of the custom roms. The stock rom i installed is;
Version: 4.1.2
Baseband: i9300UBEMH1
BUILD: JZO54K.I9300UBEMH2
phone became smooth again with wifi problem resolved. however one problem arised..now i cannot install any custom rom. i tried rooting thorugh cf-root and installing recovery through odin n all other methods including the s3 toolkit. the root on aforementioned rom works absolutely fine but as soon as i try installing a custom rom through twrp or cwm, the system shows no error while installing but as soon as recovery reboots, the phone gets stuck on samsung logo.
please help!!!
Using latest philz recovery, wipe for new rom then format internal sd card. Install firmware then leave first boot for at least 5 minutes.
If it still doesn't work then check efs partition, possibly downgrade boot loader.

ok i will check the philz recovery...plus there is no boot loop of rom stuck on boot logo..the phone gets stuck on the "Samsung galaxy siii" logo and does not proceed.
i would greatly appreciate if u can guide me or point me to the thread for downgrading bootloader...i think its the bootloader issue.

I have no idea what do to now...
When I get into download mode it says the following:'
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: GT-i9100
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: NO
CURRENT BINARY: SAMSUNG OFFICIAL
So, here's the breakdown:
I got no root or recovery
I'm not experienced in S2 rooting, this phone is my friend's.

There is a simple method of rooting using supersu and cwm files.
U can flash this files from stock recovery.
Once u install this files u will ve cwm recovery. Then factory reset n wipe cache n dalvik cache.
Your os will load out of boot loop.
Surely it will work.
Follow instructions carefully.
Just boot phone into download mode and flash Siyah kernel via odin and then you will have recovery and root, simple.
Guys I was flashing few roms and then what I did I used odin to flash my ICS official rom that I downloaded from Samfire and now my tablet i.e. Samsung Galaxy Tab gt p6200 or 10.1 is just struck on the samsung logo n it is restarting by it on and then again struck to the logo. I can access recovery and download mode. I think hard reset would correct it but when m going in recovery mode then its clearing cache but not hard resetting it, the same is with CWM. I tries to flash with bootloader in odin but that also did not worked. I tried to flash honeycomb rom but then also the same error. Pls help me guys its really important! M Scared :crying:

I hope you've flashed correct rom for your tablet.
If not try to flash stock rom for your tablet, and do wipes(cache, data) from stock recovery

its not wiping the data in recovery and now I'm able to go to the download mode but while flashing it fails and I'm sure that I'm flashing correct rom.
So I've got this issue I never had before.
It started happening after I screwed something up with the EFS I think.
I was flashing some custom roms after the 4.3 official update and then tried to go back to 4.1 official.
Had the no network problem, but fixed it flashing the vodafone stock 4.3 official again.
Reading all the stuff about EFS confused me, and I deleted the EFS folder and copied an old backup (or so I think, because I'm not sure. I had a EFS backup on my sdcard and extsd I think).
I no longer have the no network issue, but everytime I flash a stock rom through Odin the phone gets stuck at the samsung logo, so I have to root the phone and install TWRP using Odin and then wipe. I know this way fixes this, but what I'm looking for is to fixed the problem completely so I don't have to install a custom recovery or root after using Odin to go back to official samsung rom.
Any ideas?
What should I do?
Maybe the phone gets stuck at the samsung logo because all of this EFS thing, but, like I said, I no longer have the no network issue.
All I want is for the phone to boot normally into the setup after flashing a samsung rom using Odin.
It just gets stuck every single time since I had this problem with the EFS, when before this never happened.
try to install the rom in recovery mode

I had this problem before (flash 4.1.2 in current 4.2.2 by odin), here's my solution.
Maybe you can install your ROM in recovery mode. (CWM based)
Remember to wipe completely before installing

I can flash custom roms through TWRP, but what I'm looking for is to be able to do so again through Odin without ending up stuck at boot always and having to wipe through TWRP to be able to boot properly.
Any ideas?
I'm sure there must be a fix so I don't get stuck at the boot screen after flashing a samsung rom with Odin.
I know the trick wipe factory reset but what I really want is to simply avoid getting stuck at the boot screen after flashing a samsung rom with Odin.

Factory reset is also available in default recovery as well, then what is the issue? Flash then boot to recovery do factory reset.

Thanks.
I'm just trying to find out why my SGS3 now gets stuck at boot when before it never happened.
I'm hoping there's a way to fix it and go back to before, when it never got stuck at boot. There should be a way I guess.
Hi all,
For backup purpose , I tried to upgrade to the latest Recovery_CWM_6.0.4.7_I9100.zip using Install Zip from an older CWM of my Samsung Galaxy S2.
And I'm in big trouble because after installing the clockworkmod recovery the phone won't boot anymore. It's stuck on "Galaxy SII - GT-I9100 - SAMSUNG" splash screen :crying:
The CWM works and gives this log:
I:Can't partition non mmcblk device: /devices/platform/dw_mmc//mmc_host/mmc0/mmc0
I can mount partition and accessed it from my pc.
I wiped cache and dalvic cache without more luck.
There is no vibration on boot either.
As my data aren't backup yet, I don't want to wip them out with some ROM. Did I miss something?
Any hint about what I should do to have the phone boot again would be greatly appreciated! :highfive:
Cheers
@GalaxyS2u did you flashed the right cwm/kernel for your rom since they are included in one boot.img? If you cannot flash an new rom anymore in the recovery or reflash the kernel /recovery then you need to flash an kernel/recovery in odin. Try an odin philz kernel if there is one else flash siyahkernel with odin.
And that partition thing is that even an valid partition ?
Backup your data first in recovery then try my things i suggested. I still think that the reason why it doesnt boot is because you flashed the wrong recovery/kernel.
Are you on stock btw? I suggest to try to flash philz kernel if you are on stock.
@wulsic
Thanks a lot for your hint :good:. That saves my precious! :victory:
I can manage to come back to my old CWM recovery with a flash of siyah with odin.
The new CWM works only with a new ROM and not with my old stock. With this experience, I am even able to upgrade to the KitKat version.
Viva this model and this community!
@GalaxyS2u glad to hear you figured it out I also had that problem when i flashed S2 first i soon found out that kernel/recovery were in one happy flashing?
Hi guys, my mothers SGS3 is stuck on bootloop (well just freezes on samsung logo), it was on stock firmware when the problem first occured, i've tried flashing cwm via odin, wiping absolutely everything and then reflashing stock firmware, but problem persisted, i've tried rooting, flashing cwm, and then installing cyanogenmod to no avail.
does anybody have any other ideas that i could try.
Thanks in advance guys.

You flashed stock firmware with Odin, was the flash successful ?
If you need to use recovery, flash TWRP or Philz, CWM is not updated anymore
Try flashing one of the firmwares in this thread.
yeah as far as odin was concerned the flash was successful and set the phone to reboot, but it still just hung at the samsung logo, and right ok im a bit out dated using cwm then it's been a while :Lthanks for the links i'll give it another crack now
thanks again

i've tried flashing CM and MIUI using the two recoveries you linked, still no joy. The download links for the firmware doesn't work but i found an equivalent that also has bootloader, csc files etc and still no joy, odin does it's business and says in green pass at the end of it all but it still hangs on the samsung logo, even when i installed miui, it would install all as planned, but then on the reboot it just hangs at the MIUI logo.
i'm lost completely i've never been defeated by a phone :L
