Hello,
recently after getting my phone back from repair the device will either charge very slowly or doesnt charge at all
usually reconnecting the charger back solves the problem.
i have seen in the forum many people complaining about this issue but i have never seen a real answer for this..
i did rule out the possibility that the charger is flawed, the charger is fine i even baught a new one and tried multiple others.
so it must be either the phone hardware or.. maybe software?.. in case its software i did try reformating the device
but that didnt help at all.
my question is, would reflashing the rom be a possible solution?. i never did flash the rom its the stock one from the day i got it
and it has neevr been reflashed or anything just reformat.
i have no interest in custom roms unless its necesery.
thankyou

He alr said he changed the charger. Also, charging on a pc will definitely be slower as the voltage is lower.

Return to the repairer .
Doubt if flash stock will help but worth a try as you don't know what the repair has broken .
Well there are two features added on all galaxy roms i guess, one which detects unstable power and decreases the charge rate to a point which makes it stable and the safety margin which does something similar i can't really remember however if you want the normal charging rate it is a necessity that you flash a custom kernel the only one i know of which has a feature of disabling these two options is boeffla's kernel and even increase the charging rate

I didn't say the charger was faulty i said that unstable power was supplied to the charger which led to unstable power provided by the charger

Changing the kernel will give you a whole lot of new options too you should try it
Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
well, i've tried it during the whole day and i plugged/unplugged the charger many times
it worked fine (thats after reflashing the stock rom 4.3), after that i did notice one time it was plugged for about 20 mins and no change of battery precentage. so that got me worried..
i download "galaxy charging current" to see the values of the charging and it said
max: 600
now:999
avg:600
now im just trying 2 get suspocious maybe its the charger after all it seem maybe alittle deffected even tho its new..

Yes you can flash it on the 4.3 rom
Wiping dalvic cache and cache should be good enough
And here's the link

I had this problem with my S3 using the stock charger. Sometimes it switched back to USB charging mode which was slow and sometimes couldn't even keep up while gaming. I fixed it by buying an other generic usb charger (try a cheap bulky one).

thanks! appearntly the charger i purchased from the same store arent genuine so that might be it..
i tried a couple of friend's genuine chargers and it worked great..
im gonna purchase one like that somewhere.. maybe ill find on ebay
and test it for few weeks see if it works fine
so i guess in conclusion this mobile is very sensitive toward non-genuine chargers..
but wat did u mean by "generic usb charger" exactly..?
like the ones that r ac to usb adapters and i just connect the usb cable?

Maybe generic is not the right word. English is not my native language : ) What I mean is just a regular all-purpose (not necessarily branded) power supply with a USB port. Look for the maximum current output. That should match or (preferably) exceed 500 mA. Don't look for a iPhone compatible charger. These look tempting with their 2.1 A current rating but your S3 could fail to recognize the potential of the power supply and switch back to USB charging mode. Android phones recognize an AC power supply by their data lines being electrically shorted. With iPhones that's a bit different if I recall correctly.
I partly agree with your conclusion. I do think the S3 is very picky with power supplies, but I don't think a genuine charger is a guaranteed success. As stated in my previous post, my phone charges at maximum current with an unbranded charger which I bought after my original Samsung charger (the one that came with the phone) failed to achieve the same.
alright so i finaly purchased a genuine charger for sure..
appearntly the chargers i bought from the other store were not..
and i have used it for about 2 weeks now and it works amazing.. always shows 800 on charging
so in conclusion any1 have this kind of problem.. make sure the charger rly is geuine.. there r so many fakes out there..

Hi guys,
I just bought Motorola Razr XT910 GSM and i was looking for simple guide on rooting/installing custom ROMs but with no success.
Infos about my phone are:
System version:
672.180.41.XT910.NonEFIGSRetail.en.EU
Baseband version:
U_04.10.00R
Build number:
6.7.2-180_SPU-19-TA-11.6
I was wondering what is the simplest way (step by step guide would be nice) to install leaked OTA 4.1.2 ?
Is that version stable with GSM patch?
Currently i have clean stock ICS 4.0.4 on it. No root no nothing.
Just to mention i'm linux user, if there is a way to root and install 4.1.2 from linux that would be good if not i'll find some windows machine to do that!
Thanks

Forgot smt: With BMM you can also flash kernels and basebands and you can find it at play store.
I recommend Chinese baseband for EU devices. Better radio and battery life

Is anyone else facing this problem , has plagued me since my 2.3.6 days. And since your phone is new, thought I'd ask.
The screen picks up all sorts of mis-correct inputs when pugged into the AC mains, especially noticeable when texting in any app. This happends to a lesser extent when using the USB port. Had this phone for 6 months now. Am using the OG charger of course. Strange one may think but is this a general widespread problem ? This is the only problem holding me back from rooting and getting the JB ball rolling. BTW, had 2 razr's so I have two AC adaptors. Tried both.
If this is a digitizer problem as someone did indicate once somewhere, I'm regret ever having bought this phone. Have had to refrain from using it while charging. And if so, am going to push for a different device. Didn't buy a dysfunctional phone, for sure
Service Center means a LOT of downtime and I cannot even backup app data as I haven't root. Can anyone help me here?
Thanks !
PS :
Here's claims to back me up. If so, has anyone successfully replaced their product ? I wouldn't mind an HD given that I did pay full RRP.
for no reason my Razr will suddenly start going crazy. Random buttons will be pressed on the screen like someone is trying to hack into it (but I know they are not). Because of the random key presses, apps will open and close super fast. The only way to stop it is to power down and power it back up. Which after I do that, it's fine

Researched the issue months ago and learned there seems to be an issue with the digitizer (that's the piece of glass and components that identify your swipes). I thought it was only with certain earlier versions of the Droid, so am disappointed to hear you're having trouble with the Razr. Some folks have reported sending it back to Motorola, and $200 later, it's fixed. While early sufferers were Motorola users, I just read a post where someone is having the same issue with an HTC Eris...
I suggest returning your phone for a new one

I had same issue when i plug it in wall cord, i cant click on anything precise, its the charger, i use one that came with my nexus 7 and have no trouble using phone while charging. I didnt test it on USB port, but im sure its charger problem. Try another charger!
I havent bought my phone new, its used one but in perfect condition!
Also i should have mention that i had same problem with Galaxy I7500 (first samsung galaxy device, not the tablet its phone) couple years ago and also with Galaxy S3 (my brothers phone). Same problems occured when using some chargers. Try swaping chareges until you find one that fits
Maybe i'm wrong but thats what helped me.

I hope not. Don't see why a 5.2V device needs grounding. And if anything .. the screen is glass.. It's capacitive in nature to a small extent. Built up charge should not do what it does. The USB off my MSI mobo and ASUS is filtered and grounded.. Even they do this to an admittedly lower frequency.
The Moto charger puts out a healthy 1A if I'm not mistaken. Not trading that in for some POS BB charger- It's 800mAh the one lying around at a lower 5V rating. That's going to mess things up in the long run-- higher voltage and amperage charging is faster and gets to the full capacity of the battery- the voltage has a say when it comes to lithium batteries.
Anyone here get a replacement from Moto if they had the same issue? Does you think its worth a try?
Thanks for the replies:good:
I had a Milestone (a GSM variant of the Droid) and it had the very same issue. However, it had a metal frame - upon touching it the issue was instantly alleviated.
Sent using a touch screen
Napisane na ekranie dotykowym
So this works out to an inherent flaw with this screen? I had a SAMOLED on my OG Wave and it never messed up {ever} must have been the metal body. Nevertheless, The razr is FUBAR when charging. Had an S2 for a while, never cropped up despite having a similar screen panel. Think I should just file a complaint and get the ball rolling here? Though service (Moto) is terrible in my country, and I don't think they've even launched the Razr HD here. I'd rather pick it over the S3.
WIshful thinking!

yes. and same issue comes in all roms so i think it may be some hardware related issue Or some error which is not getting solved after rom changing also. As you suggested to someone in other thread "strong bootloop" to use script "to remove parts of the phone that may be can make some isues with the ROM that you are flashing" , Can i use that type of thing. If so please provide a link for i9100g.
Actually problem starts as:
I was with teamxd rom(samsung based). My memory get filled and i could not delete any file by file manager(ES). I made a factory reset and device got bootloop. Then I install the same Rom again with full wipe. After that i am with this problem in all roms.

You might need to change the USB flex board then. Cheap & easy. Click the link in my signature, from there you can access a guide by @keithross39, where it's explained how to DIY if you choose. Pay careful attention though, there's 4 different versions (revisions) of the board itself, you need the correct one or you'll get issues. Else, just take it to a service centre/local shop to get it replaced.

I would ordinarily say it isn't either. I don't know if it's not that. Regardless, it sounds like you need a new one anyway. Let us know how you go with the repair shop.
As far as I know, the i9100g one will not be compatible with the i9100, as the hardware is different. I don't know how to buy one for an i9100g, I would have said ebay but other than that, I'm not too sure. Sorry to not be of much help.

As far as I know, the i9100g one will not be compatible with the i9100, as the hardware is different. I don't know how to buy one for an i9100g, I would have said ebay but other than that, I'm not too sure. Sorry to not be of much help.

Sent from a galaxy far, far away
Hi everyone, hoping for some help.
My galaxy s2 wont power on at all.... I have tried plugging USB into the PC and pressing Vol Up but nothing - this happened after replacing the USB charge port. The power flex cable accidentally ripped off.
I plug it into my laptop and it starts installing the driver but then fails. Anyone experienced this before?
Detach battery, leave it in 5 minute and attach again , power on. I face this problem before(but the cause is not same to you ) and my phone power on after i do those steps. Hope your phone will work again.
Or you could wait for KeithHarris39 who knows what he's talking about with this stuff to read your thread (he's posted to Q&A in the last hour or two, so he's probably around somewhere) & he'll actually give you some idea of what might have gone wrong/what you can do about it.

something worth ur interest...
If you are describing the flex cable that is/was attached to the USB charger board.....then the 'inadvertent detachment' is likely the cause of your issues......
First, the damage that *has* taken place is likely to have caused a lack of charge reaching the battery....which is likely the reason the phone won't boot....dead battery and no way to charge it.
Second, it's likely the PC isn't installing the drivers as the damage caused is probably stopping the PC recognising the phone for what it is.....we all know PC's are dumb, if they're not told exactly how to do something, they just sit there scratching their metaphorical heads....lol
Repairing this part is *highly unlikely* to succeed........the only option....get another replacement.... the only saving grace......they're not that expensive......

I very much doubt you have anything to say to me in PM that would be 'worth my interest'. However, if you still believe that to be the case, this thread is as good a place as any to say it.

Thought as much but only just got back on here. Thanks for your time. Already ordered the bits that all arrived today ( except I missed the bloody posty )
So I will let you know how my soldering skills hold up after years of being dormant! The board itself seems fine... just kicking myself for giving it that little pull and forgetting that the power button is stuck on. Doh!! The phone is my old one and now belongs to the Mrs... wasn't too happy with me lol. So much so, and I'm sorry to say she switched to the dark side.. iPhone.
Now I think I'll see what ROMs are good for the s4... easy rooted it from day one but now I feel ready for a change. First android I've never completely changed

Has this ever been solved? It seems to do it under 20 percent and anything slightly intense is going on line a game or video... Thought it was stock so reflashed image, thought it was stock so tried android n, thought it could be solved but dirty unicorn didn't work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated I hate only getting to use 50 percent of my tablets life before the slow charge back up to 100

There are a bunch of other threads here about this issue, as well as in the Nexus help forums. This is a hardware failure and the only fix is a new motherboard or a new tablet. Don't waste your time trying to fix it through software.

Thanks I'll wait till the nexus tablet comes out then get that one then.
The help forum had a new suggestion. Take off the back, unplug the battery, plug it back in again (I cleaned the connectors with alcohol as well). As long as you're careful not to detach the camera it's an easy job - use a guitar plectrum to ease the back off... I've drained the battery completely for 3 days without a reoccurrence. It's probably not fixed - but it hasn't happened again yet.

Just unplugged the power cord from the main board and plugged it back.
This is the exact guide and steps I followed https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Nexus+9...lacement/36892 (except step 3 and 5 which I skipped completely)
I have fixed 2 tablets.

A few people over in the Nexus help forum who were out of warranty have had luck with this fix as well. One guy reported no issues after two months and discharging the tablet to 0% multiple times.
I am have used RR rom with dark kernel by movez for few days it have charged b/w 1600-1900 amp but the next day it does charge b/w 400-500amps..
I thought it was kernel fault then flashed viper OS but same result
Then flashed Xiaomi.eu and epic rom then same result charging speed is between 500-800 amps...
Then flashed fastboot rom charging speed does not charge more than 1000 amps
Should I need to change charger and cable ,can I buy another stock cable and use ,!! Does it solve the problem ??
Need a permanent solution
Someone help me
Thanks in advance:highfive:
???????
Which method you are using to measure current ? Probably usb port on your phone/charging cable has rust accumulated or phone's USB port is faulty. Try cleaning it and check with different cable/charger. If still problem, change usb port on phone.
