[Q] app to say good morning - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, i'd like to find an app to make this job each morning, at a specific time: sound the alarm, read the weather for that day and what's in my agenda for that day. Or maybe different apps for each job and to automate them with tasker or something like this. Welcome to any suggestion !
Thanks a lot

Nobody please ?

I know what you want can be achieved.
I'm just not 100% on how.
My experience in tasker is pretty much limited to notification counters.
Have a read of this page.

The first example is not actually too far removed from your example.

Is there anything that does this?

I need an app that will let me block Wifi for certain apps.
Lets say I have Whatsapp, Facebook and Twitter, I want my Wifi to be on, but I only want to let Whatsapp use the Wifi connection. Is this possible?
Thanks!

I think "tasker" can let you do that but its quite a learning curve if you haven't used it before.

There are guides here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1110775

I think droidwall will do this.
Doesn't the phone switch off data connection when Wi-Fi is active though?

I do similar stuff using "Tasker".
Thanks. That was a good questions and really helpful answers.
I was wondering the same and Ill try out your suggestions...
Hopefully Ill figure out how to use them correctly
Does anyone have any tasker profiles for this? I use messengers like whatsapp and kik and while on the go I'd like to disable my data for everything else but only allow these apps to work. If I could do that, I feel like my battery life would more than double. If anyone could come up with a profile I would be so grateful! I'm no good at making tasker profiles on my own or I would do it myself.

Profile Management

Hi,
I am coming from a BlackBerry. That has some great profile management and I'm not expecting something exactly like that.
There's only one main feature that I would like for the profiles, and that is to make it so it only vibrates when I receive a call. And I would switch to that particular profile during the night and then in the morning switch to my normal profile again.
Is there a way to do this? I heard you can in Tasker but I played around with it and it's too complicated for me.
Please help. Thanks
I can recommend Audio Manager Pro for audio-profiles and other useful features (such as the ability to restore sound after X minutes/hours ,... )
Do u mean sth like handy profiles?

Thanks for the replies. So far Handy Profiles seems like it does what I want but won't really know until I've used it a few days.
Will get back on this thread.
Thanks
You can try Super Profile, it can switch to profile based on time, WiFi: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sigma_rt.superprofile
Handy Profile seems to be doing a great job a few days down the line. Really impressed.

Why did Sony decide to make ringer and notification volume the same

And is there any way to separate them? Very annoying when listening to music to get notifications for emails.

 There is an option "use incoming call volume for notifications". Untick that
Tapatalked !!
To me is very helpful, since I don't want to lost any work e-mail, I need the notifications to be impossible to miss

It is a design decision made by Google in ICS.

They are doing it for usability reasons. Essentially notifications and ringtones serve the same purpose, and there are very few use cases when those need to be different.

They really don't though. At the moment I'm talking about music and it's annoyance of being interrupted by an email every 5 minutes. I'll work out something with tasker anyway.
However what about wanting phone calls at night but not emails. At 2am someone calls i want to hear it. I don't want to hear my email.
Apple is getting praise for finally separating the 2 and Google goes the other way. Very silly

I have the same problem - so I just switch off WLAN and data traffic when I'm on call.. No more waking up for an email

I wished i could set my notification tone quieter like i could in previous versions.

Please respond!

Hi I'm new to the xda forums and I have posted one time before with not one response so I will try this one more time with my new question.
I have the Samsung Galaxy S3 SCH-S960L from Straight talk and I see so many different S3's listed but never see my model. Can someone please tell me which forum I need to be in?
I was hoping to get help finding out how I can make my music my notification ringtone instead of these annoying and not very good at alerting me of my reminders, texts, calendar reminders..ect. I haven't my actual ringtone as my music but can't figure out the notifications.
I really appreciate it if I get a response this time.

Tasker Profiles

Anyone know of a website or app that allows uploading and downloading of tasker profiles created by other users? Preferrably somthen with a large selection. I need it badly cuz I have no idea what the hell I'm doin when it comes to creating different profiles. As of now every time I fart my phone performs a Google search on the great wall of china. I was trying to set up a toggle that will turn WiFi on/off depending on if I'm home or not so I clearly screwed up somewhere. Can anyone help?

This is a must see thread it's not only a tutorial of everything (even how to fart and search for girls gone wild GREAT WALL special edition), but also kind of a roll up sticky thread.
