Trouble with odin...Please help - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

When my phone is in download mode, odin doesn't recognize it. If it's not in download mode , it does recognize it by saying "added". Any idea why ?

Debugging mode turned on in Developer Options in settings?

Yep... im stumped . And so frustrated. I just want to put a 4.3 rom on this thing :-/ I tried new cables...different ports...different roms...nothing works

Uninstall the Samsung drivers then reinstall perhaps...

I see you've said in an earlier post you tried that already.
Does the computer (not Odin )see the phone when your booted into system?

I'm going to have to agree on drivers. Unplug USB cable, uninstall drivers, install the latest version of Note 2 drivers from Samsungs website, plug phone back in, boot into download mode.

Nothing works :-/

[Q] My Sony Xperia S won't boot in FastBoot mode !

it wont stay in fastboot mode and i cant install driver because of this problem !
any help and sorry for my bad English .
This is already being discussed here:

You're not the only one.
By the way, I found a fix:
I ran the fastboot, etc, on a XP PC (or just a VM in my case). It worked like a charm. I installed the drivers, rebooted the VM and now I'm on a rooted and unlocked Xperia S.
it's work ...... thanks

Hi,
I just got my Sony Xperia S (on T-Mobile in the UK) and am having problems getting into fastboot mode. Unlike any of the reported issues I can find, I am not getting five seconds of fastboot before the system resets. In fact, I am not getting any fastboot at all. When I press volume up and plug the phone in via the USB cable, it does... nothing interesting. It simply goes straight to the Sony splash and then the charging screen.
I am on Windows 7, and can probably get access to a Vista machine for diagnostics, if it would help. XP may be a bit more tricky.
Anyone got any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help.

To elaborate, I get no blue LED under any circumstances.
Try a different USB port maybe?
Did you turn on USB debugging on your S?

I've tried a few, but the USB port is definitely working - the phone is charging from it, just not entering fastboot mode.

Did you check if can be unlocked in the service menu. If your phone is branded they normally can't be unlocked and they will not enter fastboot at all.

That may be it. I can't get to the service menu thanks to an MMI error but if that's how it exhibits then it's plausible.
Is there any way around this? This phone is stuffed with bloat and I really want to get rid of it.

Hello I have an Xperia S, with bootloader locked and recently installed a ROOM in order to get the 6.A.1.2.55 with root.
Installed from a ZIP from recovery mode following this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2009672
Now when I try to do step 7 (flash kernel and Baseband) Using Flashtool, Im unable to enter to the mode; when the windows prompts me, I turn off the phone, press and hold Vol up connect the USB but nothing happens, only the Sony Logo and then the icon of charging battery, I also tried to turn off the phone while holding Power button + Vol up (at the same time) and get the 3 vibrations, but the same result when I connect, the logo and the charging animations/icon..( no LED of any color or anything)
Im using the latest Flashtool version (0.9.9.0) with the drivers intalled (even though Windows security constantly pestered me about not being able to identify the source and signture) on Windows 7 64 bits..
Thank you..
U can't use fastboot with locked bootloader
U need to unlock your bootloader first then u can flash kernels
Sent from my LT26i using xda premium
Yes, that I did know but the author of the ROOM doesn't have it unlocked either. Besides even if that, I'm still Unable to enter the mode, or is it because I uncheck "exclude kernel" that it doesn't enter the mode?

LG mytouch boot loop

I installed cyanogen mod 9 on my lg e739 and it installed great except Google apps were missing. I made a backup restore file before I did anything and I was going to restore back to the stock ROM and when it finished installing it acted like it was going to boot normal cause I saw the LG screen come up but ever since then the lg screen is the only thing that shows when it starts up. I've tried everything that I have read online and nothing has worked. I'm can't get back into clock work recovery nor will the phone start its restore process from holding the back and menu buttons. It will go into s/w upgrading mode, but my computer doesn't recognize it in this mode. If I try starting it normally and then plug in the USB my computer does recognize it although it is not mounted so I can't access the sd card or memory. Is there anything I can do or try and is there any programs or command prompt commands that would automatically mount my phone. ...what should I do? Any ideas I would greatly appreciate cause I'm at a loss right now
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
I have been there and if you have adb installed in your computer you can fix this. look up android sdk and install it on your computer if you dont have it already, after that you will be able to use the command prompt to restore your phone.

the main problem is that I cant enter SD card (there is no ROM and CWM recovery wont mount SD card too)
By the way... is there any chance if internal memory is damaged? I think no, because odin can install CWM recovery...
Please anyone help me to fix this problem...
By the way this device is not rooted. maybe this problem why I cant mount sd card??
Then why the hell did you say tab 2?

This might not help you but I found this link to stock recovery for the SCH-i905 tablet.
I was going to post the link here but was not able to because this forum will not let me so I will explain:
there is a discussion of this problem in icsforums
it was thread 13525 in the forum section
This explains where to get a stock image. I have not tried this. Also it appears you cannot get to the download screen so I am not sure how you would use this.
Good Luck

Check to see if Samsung Composite device is showing up in device manager. I think it's in the system group. If it's not showing up try a different USB port and cable. If that doesn't work try re-installing the drivers or try it on another computer.

Not true... If you can get into download mode then that part of the boatloader is working... The yellow triangle when you are in download mode signifies "failed download", you can, and I have, on many occasions, start an Odin download to device from there.

[Q] Samsung galaxy s3 in a boot loop

Hi all.
after doing dirty update for on my Samsung galaxy s3 v 8.8 of the [ROM][I9300][5.0.2] Temasek's UNOFFICIAL CyanogenMod 12 from 6.1 i lost root.
i downloaded the SuperSu file and trying to flash it. But i couldn't enter the recovery mode for some reason and then i did a restart with going to recovery mode (there is a such option on the ROM) and then my phone enter a bool loop. it gous up to the Samsung logo and restarts. i stile can't enter recovery mode with pressing HOME+Volume UP+Power. I can enter the download mode but my computer with win 7 64 bit can't recognize, when i connect the phone in the download mode "Unrecognized USB Device" massage pops. Re-install Samsung drivers and Install/Uninstall Kies didn't help
Thanks in advance for your help.
Get Odin to recognise the phone, otherwise you are stuck. Search for the usual suspects to try.
Try change USB port and cable, use mother-board USB.

about cable and port that the first thing that i did. also tried on 2 more computers and got the same deal
You said you tried on 2 other computers. But did you make sure samsung drivers are installed on those computers?
I think I've been down that road before. You should try different odin versions 1.87 / 3.05 etc. Get a good USB cable and try cleaning the usb port on the phone with a soft toothbrush
