LG mytouch boot loop - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I installed cyanogen mod 9 on my lg e739 and it installed great except Google apps were missing. I made a backup restore file before I did anything and I was going to restore back to the stock ROM and when it finished installing it acted like it was going to boot normal cause I saw the LG screen come up but ever since then the lg screen is the only thing that shows when it starts up. I've tried everything that I have read online and nothing has worked. I'm can't get back into clock work recovery nor will the phone start its restore process from holding the back and menu buttons. It will go into s/w upgrading mode, but my computer doesn't recognize it in this mode. If I try starting it normally and then plug in the USB my computer does recognize it although it is not mounted so I can't access the sd card or memory. Is there anything I can do or try and is there any programs or command prompt commands that would automatically mount my phone. ...what should I do? Any ideas I would greatly appreciate cause I'm at a loss right now

I have been there and if you have adb installed in your computer you can fix this. look up android sdk and install it on your computer if you dont have it already, after that you will be able to use the command prompt to restore your phone.

there many way to unbrick your phone
here what i found
Try this, it is slightly different from what the guy earlier said..
1.) Take off your back cover, remove your sim & mirco sd card.
2.) Remove your battery.
Make sure you have Odin OPEN with admin privileges!
Make sure you have the USB plugged into your PC but NOT your phone!
3.) Hold the volume buttons.
4.) Put the battery in.
5.) Put the USB in.
Continue holding the volume keys & you should pop into DOWNLOAD mode within a few seconds
or
1. remove battery, sim and sd
2. Open Odin
3. Connect usb to phone
4. Hold down both volume keys and power
5. but battery back in
6. once the screen blinks, let go of the power button
7. keep holding both volume keys until the downloading screen starts
8. Flash back to stock. I always go back to stock after something like this just to make sure that nothing got corrupted. Also check the re-partition option.

i've tried all but pc and odin still dont recognize my phone
Another suggestion is to try the Jig
And if that is not working then your only option is Jtag
go to www.mobiletechvideos.com and he sells professional JIGs for $8 and he can also fix complete bricks for $40. I ordered my JIG yesterday but I'm expecting that I will have to have him do the Jtag on it because my phone just DIED badly yesterday. Nothing has worked. We'll see what happens.

The Jig is to get it into Download mode. As you had stated earlier you can do this without issue.
I am guessing you are just missing the "Nexus S" drivers on your machine. I had to install them before it would recognize my phone when I first went to ICS.
You should find a link for the "Nexus S" drivers in the Development section. ICS does not want the Galaxy S drivers.
usb driver
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459304&highlight=nexus+s+driver
Sorry this is the wrong driver, You gave him the HOST mode driver.
You will need the drivers listed here http://androiddrivers.net/samsung-android-drivers/download-nexus-s-drivers/
thank you for help but my phone after installing nexus s drivers still can not be recognized by pc and odin((((

Hi,
did you try installing google's SDK? try installing Java SDK x64 http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html
then install http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
when installing Android SDK in the "extra" section check the usb drivers.
after it downloads you can try changing the drivers in the device manager of windows and use the drivers found here.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\extras\google\usb_driver
well thats what i did after odin didnt recognize my phone. but my phone wasnt bricked. hope it helps.
thank you for triying help to me!!!!!! I also installed ANDROID SDK bu noyhing help me to fix that problem and PC stil recognized my phone as an {unknown device} ((((((((
Edit: nvm i see that you can access download mode.
It is definitely a driver issue, try a different usb port or even a different computer.
thank's but i've already tried that in 4 different PCs but nothing helped me there are shown only unknown device
Please anybody Help to fix my vibrant!!!!

Try a new USB cable.
I can tell you from experience that I thought I was completely bricked...I went out and bought a brand new phone! BUT, when I got home from the store, I kept trying, and I finally got everything working.
I know it's been said, but really make sure you have the correct drivers on your computer! That's the thing that saved me. I didn't have them at first, and I finally found them...do you have a friend whose computer you can try?
I had the same issue with my phone a while back.. I called Samsung, told them it just stopped working, and somehow i managed to still be under warranty. I sent it to them, and they say they replaced some parts or something, and sent it back working like new.
However, i would suggest trying the JIG. Ive heard it works, just forces your phone into download mode, and ODIN at that point should recognize it. GL
(Might want to try cleaning your computer, the registry files, and rebooting. Cant tell you how often thats helped solve issues for me.)
Thanks all for help but my phone didnt fixedhttp://media.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/frown.gif
How I fix those bricks....
1. Download AI0 Vibrant Tool Box here...
http://www.google.dm/url?sa=t&rct=j...uJ2iBA&usg=AFQjCNHHTDPoSZz-8jqhAHy7S2lsO5Vq4g
2. Run the toolbox.exe file.
3. From menu do "Install Drivers" just to be sure & follow screen directions.
3. Remove the phone battery.
4. From AI0 Menu select "Flash to Stock"
5. From Menu select Reboot into download & Start ODIN
6. Connect your USB cable to phone.
7. Hold down both UP/Down Volume buttoms AND Power button.
8. While doing that Install your battery.
9. See if Odin will recognize the phone by highlighting the ID:COM to yellow.
10. If so then load the PIT & PDA files & flash back to stock Eclair 2.1
Thank you,but AIO Vibrant Toolbox 2.5 doesnt help me to fix my vibrant, there are still uknown device((((((((((((

[Q] My Sony Xperia S won't boot in FastBoot mode !

Hi
when i power down my xperia s and keep the Volume Up button pressed and connect the USB cable to PC it's goes on FASTBOOT mode for just a 5 sec and then it Restart !!
it wont stay in fastboot mode and i cant install driver because of this problem !
any help and sorry for my bad English .
This is already being discussed here:

You're not the only one.
By the way, I found a fix:
I ran the fastboot, etc, on a XP PC (or just a VM in my case). It worked like a charm. I installed the drivers, rebooted the VM and now I'm on a rooted and unlocked Xperia S.
it's work ...... thanks
Related problem
Hi,
I just got my Sony Xperia S (on T-Mobile in the UK) and am having problems getting into fastboot mode. Unlike any of the reported issues I can find, I am not getting five seconds of fastboot before the system resets. In fact, I am not getting any fastboot at all. When I press volume up and plug the phone in via the USB cable, it does... nothing interesting. It simply goes straight to the Sony splash and then the charging screen.
I am on Windows 7, and can probably get access to a Vista machine for diagnostics, if it would help. XP may be a bit more tricky.
Anyone got any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help.

I've tried a few, but the USB port is definitely working - the phone is charging from it, just not entering fastboot mode.

Did you check if can be unlocked in the service menu. If your phone is branded they normally can't be unlocked and they will not enter fastboot at all.

That may be it. I can't get to the service menu thanks to an MMI error but if that's how it exhibits then it's plausible.
Is there any way around this? This phone is stuffed with bloat and I really want to get rid of it.

Hello I have an Xperia S, with bootloader locked and recently installed a ROOM in order to get the 6.A.1.2.55 with root.
Installed from a ZIP from recovery mode following this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2009672
Now when I try to do step 7 (flash kernel and Baseband) Using Flashtool, Im unable to enter to the mode; when the windows prompts me, I turn off the phone, press and hold Vol up connect the USB but nothing happens, only the Sony Logo and then the icon of charging battery, I also tried to turn off the phone while holding Power button + Vol up (at the same time) and get the 3 vibrations, but the same result when I connect, the logo and the charging animations/icon..( no LED of any color or anything)
Im using the latest Flashtool version (0.9.9.0) with the drivers intalled (even though Windows security constantly pestered me about not being able to identify the source and signture) on Windows 7 64 bits..
Thank you..
U can't use fastboot with locked bootloader
U need to unlock your bootloader first then u can flash kernels
Sent from my LT26i using xda premium
Yes, that I did know but the author of the ROOM doesn't have it unlocked either. Besides even if that, I'm still Unable to enter the mode, or is it because I uncheck "exclude kernel" that it doesn't enter the mode?

Sorry lol. You said it won't turn on, try to hold power and vol down then go to fastboot. You should try to use a pc to reflash your boot.IMG from the Rom you have. Just extract the boot from the zip. Make sure you got the driver on the pc so it will read the phone and SDK-tools or if you can reflash a Rom. I hope that will help you. Sorry if it doesnt

It won't turn on or charge, Tried power and vol-. Tried power vol+. Tried vol- while connecting to the computer. Tried connecting to computer with and without battery. I get nothing. Ubuntu can't detect the phone and Windows detects as QHSUSB_DLOAD. I have tried the Ultimate Recovery Tool 3.1. It can't go past "Waiting for Device."
Do you know of anything else I can try?
Thank you for replying
Well sorry I couldn't help. But ill research and see what I can find. You could try the unbrick project again, you might need a diver for the QHSUSB_DLOAD so it will read it on the pc. I never ran into any kind of bricking incident so I'm not that experienced. Sorry

Does the computer (not Odin )see the phone when your booted into system?
I'm going to have to agree on drivers. Unplug USB cable, uninstall drivers, install the latest version of Note 2 drivers from Samsungs website, plug phone back in, boot into download mode.
Nothing works :-/
