I would like the iPhone orientation animation but I'm afraid google reviving it from android 1.5 would result in android getting sued by apple... Damn\
So I tried using the Google Experience Launcher (usually referred to as Google Home) on my Desire X (stock 4.1.1) but every time I tap the Launcher icon I only get an 'Unfortunately, Google Search has stopped' error message. I do have the newest Google Search version installed. Did anyone get the launcher to work on a DX?

As far as I know, none of us in our community was able to make it work .

Nova Launcher beta has kitkat icons too and transparant bars, I personally use/like that one
May be it doesn't work on Android 4.1 with sense coz it works on Android 4.2 sense. For example HTC One:

Iv'e used nova launcher for a while and I love it.
there is only one feature I feel missing, the google app in the left page (like in google now launcher).
I was able to have the same thing using the home button to open google now in gestures and inputs.
Is there any way to maybe change swipe right to google now like you can do with swipe up?

So, I was looking for a decent budget phone to act as a backup for my PXL 2XL. Was eying the red 6 GB, 128 GB for long and just got it yesterday.
Installed a P Launcher, and till now all looks good.
However, for the life of me, I am not able to turn on the google feed? I did go into the google app, and set "Yes" to the Show Feed option. But, nothing happens on the home screen.
What am I missing?
Which launcher are you using?
Try searching for rootless pixel launcher on XDA or ruthless launcher (non pixel)
You can use Lawnchair along with Lawnfeed from the Play Store. No root needed

I got the same concern. And I just find out: you just leave an Google icon on first page. Now, you can tap it, same result as swipe left in Pixel launcher or Xperia home.
