[Q] How to replace volume ribbon flex.

I would like to know how to replace the volume ribbon flex cable in my tablet.
I have opened it up before to replace my battery.
Now both volumes are broken.
I bought one in ebay, but the flex cable doesn't match.
Before I realized the flex cable wasn't the one i need, I tried to get the volume ribbon flex cable off my tablet, but it was too hard and I want to know how to take it out.
Does anyone know how to fix it?
Without it, I can't really do recoveries because I have CWM and it needs the rockers to move up and down.

thanks your video guide was very helpful. i replaced the usb controller. now i have another problem. i broke of the ribbon cable of the volume keys. how can i get into recovery now? by the way its also softbricked right now.
Sorry fella....There are only 3 ways I know of that don't use the volume keys......
1) ADB commands
2) An app that works from a booted device
3) the extended power button menu available in xposed and custom roms....
From what you've said, none of those is available to you.....
Without getting the volume button ribbon fixed, you're pretty much stuffed.......
If you're ok with a soldering iron, you can get the part here.....

Replacement Part - Power & Volume Button Assembly

Hey all, I'm working on a friend's Verizon V10 (VS990). The flex cable with the actual power & volume buttons is defective. I've scoured eBay and other part sites to find the button assembly. The fingerprint scanner is readily available, but for some reason I'm having a hard time finding the button flex cable assembly. My friend bought the phone secondhand, so he's not sure if he could get LG to fix it without costing an arm and a leg. Does anyone here know of any other good cell phone repair part sites I could check for this cable? Attached is a picture of what I'm talking about. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

So I answered my own question, apparently. I discovered that the LG part number for this is EAX66848101. I did a search with this part number and found a site in Spain that has the part I need. Sure, it'll be expensive, but still less than LG will probably charge. If anyone else is looking for this part, here's the link to the site I found:

Thank you for updating us with very useful info. Some may need it and too many times people are not mindful to be considerate enough to help others when they've solved the problem. Thank you again.
Thanks dude might come handy someday
