I was flashing a rom when my computer froze now my note says on the screen Firmware upgrade encountered a issue. Please select recovery mode in kies and try again. What can i do to fix this
You need to get back into recovery and reload the ROM. Are you having an issue getting into Recovery Mode?

How do you get into recovery on the note? I havent done that to a samsung device in a while.
three finger. hold both volume up and down then power at same time. At SAmsung logo let go of power button for a few seconds then let go of all. boom. recovery.
It won't go into recovery it just goes to a screen and tells me there was error with upgrade and tells me too hook up to kies or go to in recovery but i can't. Doin sees it but doesn't flash anything

Need Help
I have been looking to download a Rom but cant seem to find a link other then "multiupload" which dont work, anyone have another link
Okay I hope someone can help me! This is what happened, I had a rooted MDK version and wanted to upgrade to ME7 since there was a root for it so i upgraded then re-rooted now running ME7 rooted. But i tried to install a custom recovery (forgot that ME7 bootloader isnt unlocked -_-) so now i basicly DELETED my recovery. My phone turns on fine but for example if i hold POWER and UP it boots to download mode and on top is says "failed to boot" So basicly can somone please explain to me how to install the original recovery WITHOUT losing any of my phone data? THANKS!
You should have done some reading first, but you've now found out you can't flash a recovery when on mf3. Join the many others. It probably boots into download mode. When it does can you cancel that with vol down?
Edit, as far as getting the recovery back, you can't afaik

If you wanted me7 you should have just flashed the radios separately.

No nothing works when in that mode, I have to take the battery out and back in and turn it on normal and it boots up fine just the recovery mode doesn't work. This isn't a crazy concern just annoying so your saying there is NO fix? I just have to wait until the find a way to unlock the bootloader then install a custom recovery?

Coming from HTC so this is a little different for me..I did search these out, just want to be sure.. First, will qbkings method still work since it was done on the first version for this phone and its now on MJ4? For TWRP, when you flash a new rom, what are you wiping, Factory, System, and internal or just system? Any other advice is appreciated, just don't want to screw crap up... Thanks

I used cf-auto root on my phone. It trips Knox but I didn't care about that. You can find it in the original development forum.
As far as what to wipe for a custom ROM just read the first few posts of the ROM you are looking at and the Devs will be very specific as to the steps needed to avoid potential issues.
All the Devs here are very helpful if you have any issues as well.
Hope that helps.

Welcome to the community, bro.
Here's a starter set of instructions, followed by a backup set if you get stuck. [Make sure that you are on MJ4 prior to doing this.]
---------STARTER STEPS
1. Download TWRP (tar/odin flashable) from teamw.in (V2.6.3.7)
2. Download and install Samsung drivers for mobile phones (you may already have these installed)
3. Download Odin V3.07 (you may already have this too, link takes you to what appears to be a master thread for Odin)
See this post for a nice visual and comments, pic and thread provided by a fine gentleman that has about the coolest user name I've seen on any forum
At this point you can decide whether or not you want simply stock rooted, which TWRP can give you without flashing anything, or if you want to install a basic stock rooted rom, kindly provided by @freeza, can select DeOdex or Odex, thread here
4. Download MJ4 DeOdex or Odex and place it on your phone
5. Power off your phone
6. Put your phone into Download Mode (voldown+home+power)
7. Flash TWRP with Odin and boot into it once done (volup+home if Odin auto reboots your phone or volup+home+power if it's off)
8. If you decided to simply go stock rooted, then go to reboot>system and TWRP will ask if you want root, if not, then proceed to flash MJ4 DeOdex or Odex
9. Profit
---------PLAN B IF ABOVE FAILS YOU
[Some just can't get Odin to play nice with the TWRP tar, don't know why.]
1. Follow QBKing77 video and install root using CF method, thread here
2. Download img file for TWRP from Team Win site, flash using app from Play Store called Flashify
3. Flash recovery
4. Follow the rest of the outlined under the heading "Starter Steps"
---------AFTERTHOUGHTS...
Once successful, go into TWRP, backup only your EFS, then separately, backup boot, system, and data. Throw your EFS backup on your PC and Dropbox in case of emergency (hopefully you won't need it).
Pick a rom you like, and start fiddling. Support the devs, have a blast.
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

Yeah, it is. But there's a reason I layed the steps out so broadly and specifically; half of that was given to me (the stuff above the Plan B line) by one whom knows far more than most, and I still had to do the stuff for which I hadn't planned. Worse, I got stuck at that horrifying yellow Sprint logo, with no bootup. I pulled my SD card and the battery, powered up again, and I only then had success. Most have no issues, but thankfully enough have that there were similar experiences conveyed across these forums.
I really hope that you have a trouble free experience.

Worked like a charm, thanks again Mic. They only thing I can't do though is how do you get to TWRP from reboot, I can do it from goomanager but I would think I could power down the phone, press the three buttons and it would take me there.

Download the small zip in this thread, choosing Odex or DeOdex,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2486526
Go into TWRP the way you've described, flash the zip, and you'll have a 4-in-1 reboot menu. After it installs, hard press the power key, and when you select reboot, you'll get other options (recovery, &c).
Good luck!

No problem. Just don't let that this dispel ya. Pick a rom and start flashing. There are a lot of good choices, you've already tripped Knox, so have at it, defile the thing and make it work the way you want.

Help please my stupid phone will not go into recovery it goes straight into download mode when holding the buttons combination. And there is a message in orange reddish color that states "unable to boot normally"
This occurred after I tried to Odin flash the engineering NAB bootloader as I was already on NAB from the OTA I could not get twrp to work after flashing it using odin so I thought that I would try the engineering bootloader and then try to odin twrp again and I was unsuccessful and since then my phone will not go into recovery at all I see the blue letters come on the screen and it immediately goes into download mode.. any help would be appreciated. The phone does boot and I am able to use it like normal I just can't flash anything and can't get into recovery.

Sent from my SM-N900P using xda app-developers app
Thing is you have to restart with that file...then you have to root to enable you to flash a recovery....if you go back to that file and get up and running we know you have a clean start.
Flash the right recovery in Odin ... uncheck auto reboot. .. or before it reboots hold vol up home and power. ... The rom will restore stock recovery if you don't stop it
Sent from my SM-N900P using Xparent BlueTapatalk 2
Try ROM manger or ROM toolkit apps. They will reboot you into recovery if you have one installed.
Photon Q &/or Note 3 on ting.com
If your phone is rooted. Download quick boot in the play store. Open choose recovery grant SU and it should take you into recovery.
