It's the same we wondered for long in the ace-i forums (here in XDA), but the QMG format is propietary and we haven't found a way to decompile it...

Original Android boot animation.

I have been searching for two days for this, both here and elsewhere, so forgive me if it's been right under my nose and I failed to find it.
I am trying to find the stock Android boot animation that began with, I believe, Cupcake. That is, the Android logo in a sort of blue-hued metallic texture. I want this for my Droid. If anyone knows where I can find this, given Droidboots is ****ed, I'd be very thankful.
completely removing the "bootanimation.zip" will default you to the "stock" android boot animation
What are the chances that I would be looking for the exact same boot animation? I haven't had any luck either.

+1. Go into /system/media, at least that is where it is on the heroc, with a file manager, root explorer is a fine choice, and delete the file named bootanimation.zip. reboot and enjoy the classic goodness.

Sent from my CDMA Hero. I got some hot Froyo-on-Hero action here!

Yup this works.
Even works on Sense ROMs.
It must be built in default when no customized carrier one exists.
Where do I get a copy of the default / classic "Android" boot animation?
Can someone post it on here?

I made default-look bootanimation in UOT kitchen. Look for "Android original"
THANK YOU SO MUCH I WANNA BE YOUR SEXY SLAVE 4EVER! hrhnick
for custom roms it should be in /system/media if you cant find it there use root explorer's search function to find it
Worked in 2019...thanks!

[Q] QMG files

Has any one found a player for these to be viewed in Windows please?
Big thanks
Seems we, the "Android Community", don't have a player to easily view these
Note - MODS may close this thread as there doesn't appear to be interest. Thanks all
Try google QMG file format it belongs to Matlab.
Qmg file is an animated format for the PNG and its used in bootanimation.
Is there a way to edit .qmg files? I've heard CM6.1 will do away with the need of .qmg files, but is there a way to edit it?
Unfortunately no, the codec is produced for samsung by Quran (Qmage) and its not been released or acquired.
Their is/was a guy on Themes for SGS1 that built a QMG animation .
named Bootanimation_android_astronaut

I've tried to find a solution for this several time with no luck. The "answer" you posted a link to is no answer. There doesn't seem to be any way to open existing qmg files with Samsung Theme Designer. The question wasn't how to create them but how to open/view them.

Boot Animation Sound.

Hi.
How do I do to have the bootanimation with sound?
I have the original bootanimation, and the file *. Mp3 original.
Thanks.

Bumping in less that 3 hrs ? Very bad. Do not do that again. This is hardly critical to the operation of your phone. When you make a thread, you wait patiently for a response.
Edit - Given you've been here 6 yrs, you should know a lot better. Bit hard to expect n00bs to do the right thing when people who have been here ages don't.
Convert your .mp3 to .ogg, rename to PowerOn.ogg and move to system/media/audio/ui/.

But with me dont work. I'm using CyanogenMod 10.1.
I'm using Beanstalk ROM on my phone and I cannot set the bootsound to work. I changed the boot animation and followed the instructions with patching bootsound.sh script via Terminal Emulator, but it didn't work as well. I originally didn't have PowerOn.ogg or PowerOff.ogg sounds, also the original animation in this ROM was silent... I thought the script method will work for me, as it's CM-based ROM. Has enyone solved this issue? Sadly I cannot write the question in Beanstalk thread yet.

See above post and .
As per previous identical posts .
.
QImage is required to edit you buy from Quram .
Normal custom boot animation is via Zip files see multiple Boot Animation posts in Themes and Apps .

It doesn't matter if you 'search' in files. You have to look in them. Extract each and every file and have a look at it.
Is very hard to find this icons.

tw_dialog_title_holo_dark.9.png
tw_dialog_top_holo_dark.9.png
They're patch9 images though (Scalable) so you can't just replace them with any old image. You have to patch9 your images if thats what you're wanting to do.
Edit> Here's a tutorial you'll need if you don't know how to do it:
