Hi guys,
I had a problem with my Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 and I had to factory reset it. Now I am back to the 4.1.2 android version and I am unable to update the software! Each time I click on " Software Update" I get the message "Your device has been modified. Software updates are not available" as I previously rooted the phone!
I followed this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2215166
But I am unable to download from the terafile.com!! Eacht time I need to wait 58 minutes for download and after 1 hour it keeps telling that I have to wait again 58 minutes! What a crap website!
Is there another way around to download the following? :
Model: GT-I9300
Country: Netherlands
Version: Android 4.1.2
Changelist: N/A
Build date: Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 +0000
Product Code: PHN
PDA: I9300XXELLA
CSC: I9300PHNELL2
MODEM: I9300CEELL1
Once I unroot it from the 4.1.2 version I can upgrade the software.
Please help, thank you a lot!

Am I able to change the software/firmware from Vodafone to the Telstra one located on Sammobile. Im unable to post outside links but heres a copy of whats available on sammobile.
Firmwares for GT-I9300T - All (10 latest)
Country/Carrier Date Android PDA CSC
Australia (Telstra) 2012 June 4.0.4 I9300TDUALF2 I9300TTELALF2
Australia (Telstra) 2012 May 4.0.4 I9300TDUALE6 I9300TTELALE6
I got no idea how all this rooting stuff works. Im trying to learn but I can get my head around it. So sorry if any of my questions seem stupid. Thanks for all your help in advance.
No need rooting to flash.
And yes you can flash Telstra firmware on Voda model, they are the same hardwares.
You need Odin 3.04 and need samsung usb driver or if you already have it working with Kies, then no worries about driver.
Here I copied the general instruction from the UK thread:
Instructions For Flashing Firmware:
Extract the firmware
Launch Odin
Turn off your device
Put your device into Download MODE (Home + Volume Down + Power)
Click PDA and select *.tar.md5
Then finally click START!
Thanks mate. Am downloading the firmware now. Its gonna take 2 hours to download.
Am I meant to change any of the options in Odin3?
Thanks again.
Now that I have flashed my galaxy s3 successfully.
I keep getting the message "Unfortunately, Messaging has stopped"
Does anyone know what this is or can direct me into the right place? Ive done a factory reset as another thread recommended but didnt work.
Thanks

1. Is there a step-by-step guide here on xda-developers that describe how I can take a complete
backup of my phone's current Android 4.0.4 (HTD) operating system plz ?
2. Is there a step-by-step guide here on xda-developers that describe how I can debrand
the phone from Android 4.0.4(HTD)danish to Android 4.0.4(NEE) danish plz ?
Then I can self go into Kies and update to the new open version (NEE) of 4.1.2 Jelly Bean
which samsung.com/dk has published.
3. I have found this guide androidromupdate.com/2013/02/08/install-i9100xwlsd-i9100xxls8-upgrade-on-samsung-galaxy-s2-gt-i9100-official-android-4-1-2-jelly-bean
who should update the phone to the official Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
Should this guide be ok for my phone or is there a better and more safe one from xda-developers plz?
Sorry for my poor school english, I hope you understand.
Thanks

The file you want will be here but if you have installed 4.3 you can't just go back to 4.0.4, you will corrupt your EFS file then you phone will really be useless unless you can restore all that as well, read up on downgrading and EFS issues in my signature, search the forum and General Section before you attempt this regarding downgrading from Android 4.3.

I searched for a solution on this site but none completely solve my problem, I swear.

Kies sucks and updating via OTA is worse. Use Odin.

It'd be a good idea to factory reset while you're at it. Not doing so will probably work, but much more inclined to have issues.
I am trying to do a complete reset on my phone to get ready to go to a service center. However I am unable to find a completely stock UK version of 4.04, 4.1.2 or 4.3. I have tried everywhere but even though it says UK BTU ( my phone was unlocked from day one ) I have so far had Dutch, German, Swiss and even a Chilean rom.
Could some one please point me to one please.
