Hi.
I have a Telus (AT&T) HTC One and after having it unlocked for almost a year, I've decided I want to flash a CM Rom on it because the stock firmware is holding the phone back.
Problem is, I'm running CWM 6.0.3.2, and apparently that causes issues when trying to flash new ROMs. I tried to flash a few but kept getting status 7 errors.
I tried to flash a new CWM recovery to my phone, but my pc was just waiting to detect my phone forever. So, now I feel I'm out of options. After lurking through many threads, I couldn't find any answers.
Just hoping you guys can help me out.
Matt
You need maybe to install HTC One drivers on your PC. And don't forget to tick USB Debugging from Settings

I have a rooted Atrix. Installed Rom Manager and tried to install CWM backup. I got the RSD 2 error message at the prompt then rebooted the phone. Thats is as far as I went.
I uninstalled Rom Manager.
My phone will no longer connect to my computer. I get messages saying:
Computer says I need to format my SD cards in order to use them.
I also get a message saying advcntrl4.dll is not on my comuter.
Root tools no longer boots up on my computer.
The phone randomly connects and disconnects from my computer.
OK I hooked up my Atrix to my laptop and it saw it, so the problem is with my computer which I can fix eventually.
I still would like to have a full backup image of my phone and I see little support of Rom Manager issues anywhere.
Any suggestions appreciated.
thanks
Are you unlocked? If not its quite dumb to install a custom recovery.

+1... happened to be the first time i messed with my phone. root and unlock then flash recovery... works fine afterwards. just be more patient and learn your phone and how to mod it....
FYI... its not RomManager that messed up your phone... it was your lack of knowledge on how to do the mods to your phone.

Do you have any idea how long ROM Manager has been around? YOU screwed up your Atrix.
I'd bet my life on your n00batry.

Thanks Meter...your comments are SO helpful people like you make xda such a nice place to come to. Do me a favor and stay away from me.

Thanks for the comment. I lost driver files on my main computer with disk errors and have replaced the drivers and got it to connect to the phone. So another problem solved tho the motorola media program is not working yet but I will get it going. The bigger questions are:
I am anticipating ICS update so I would not want to do anything to interfere with the next OTA update. If so, I can wait for the update before doing anything with ROM manager. Funny thing after I deinstalled ROM Manager from my phone, it was still in my startup....weird, but I removed it. Questiion is did I change anything by trying to run the backup. ROM manager reported that OTA updates were turned OFF. If I unlocked the bootloader would that negate the ICS update?
thanks
panflute
i am trying really hard to decipher all that, but there is so much confusion in your post. i can understand you really have no idea what it is you are doing right now.
A. you wont see an ICS update from Motorola or AT&T for something like 3-6 months, probably closer to 3 i hope
B. if you want the stock ICS from ATT/MOTO, why are you even messing with ROM manager? You do know what ROM manager is for right?
C. you didnt change anything by trying to run a backup, in fact, it didnt do anything because you dont have an unlocked bootloader...it basically ran a script that failed.
D. ROM manager reporting OTA updates were turned off had nothing to do with a STOCK ATT/MOTO OTA....it was talking about OTA updates for your current rom...which is stock, which rom manager doesnt have any information about in its database....because rom manager is utilized for flashing roms.
E. unlocking the bootloader and leaving your rom stock will not keep you from updating from MOTO/ATT later on....
i think you have some reading that you should do before you break your phone.
ok
OK Thanks Meter. That answers most of my concerns. You are right I don't know what I am doing. I remember years ago when things were easier to figure out.
It sounds like I did not damage anything which is great. I was just attempting to do a backup because I am a backup nut. I have a ton of hours into setting up my phone. So maybe I'll do some looking around and see how easy it is to unlock the bootloader so I can make a backup. ROM Manager did NOT tell me I needed to unlock the bootloader. If you look at my homescreen you can see why I should have a backup. I have titanium BU but would prefer a full ROM backup.
3-6 months for ICS is fine with me because I like my phone as it is tho I am always looking for ways to improve on it. So far I have not run into any walls...it just keeps getting better.
thanks Meter.
I know how you feel.. I messed up my back flip that way. I had the same problem. Unless you're fully rooted you can't install a custom recovery. Most likely you have a hard brick.
Form is temporary but Class is permanent. I love Liverpool FC.

Did you try reinstalling the Motorola drivers for your pc and then trying to flash the pudding sbf (only if u r unlocked ).
I did not get from ur post. Can you still access fastboot? Then you can flash romracers recovery.

Hi friends,
I am writing to you because in the Spanish forums on telephony have not had much luck, apparently no one knows my problem and nobody has experienced before, the question is that since I opened the bootloader I have not had any problems, and loaded the roms kernels without problem until a few days ago, after a long season with a MIUI rom I was going pretty well but appear new roms for the Neo because I wanted to try and I found that when trying to boot into fastboot light load make a flashing blue micro automatically if I pressed the button off the phone starts the rom and I can not enter bootloader mode, I tried to wipe and reinstall the same data again rom but no way the bootloader will not boot.
I hope you can help me, greetings and thanks

hello there, im sure someone can help me out, i have worked with many android phones before and done alot of reading on the ONE X+. i have a one x+ on telus if it matters, and i have it rooted with no problems, every time i try to load a rom i get stuck in a boot loop, i also cant seem to access any storage through recovery or side load. i have tried different roms, kernals, recoverys, same thing, i have also tried going back to stock ruu and then trying agian with no luck.i have been using the " all in one root kit v2.3" (NOOB tool). its been a while since ive played with android so im sure im just doing something stupid but ive tried about 10 times now, any help would be great.
Thanks brenden
Did you used international roms instead of AT&T/Telus roms?

1) make sure you are on a compatible roms: international version won't work for AT&T
2) make sure you have your bootloader unlocked
3) make sure you flash the right kernel via fastboot usb or kernel flasher, because s-on devices (htc one x+ is one of them) cannot flash kernel via recovery
I will try to help but I don't know what your phone condition now, what recovery you are on, what roms/kernel you last flashed
Sorry I'm a noob at all of this. Successfully rooted my phone today thanks to Honsoon2000's excellent tutorial and toolkit. Then I went to install Android Revolution, which appeared to go successfully and then after I flashed the kernel the phone wouldn't load and just hangs at the quietly brilliant screen. I followed Honsoon's tutorial to the T (or so I thought) and everything went perfectly until right at the end when I flashed the kernel. I can make it back to the bootloader screen though it says "failed to load usb master mode". I can still make it into fastboot and recovery mode...tried recovery, and the process seemed to go sucessfully, but the phone still wouldn't load after...tried reinstalling ARHD-- it's still on the sd card and the install procedure still goes off without a hitch, but the phone still won't load. I've searched around and tried everything I can, to no avail. Any help would be muchly appreciated, and I apologize in advance for being a noob wasting people's time.
Edit: For example, when I follow the steps outlined in the FAQ it asks me to enter the command 'fastboot flash boot boot.img' , but when I do it says 'error: cannot load boot.img'.
Edit 2: So I put my boot.img file from Android Revolution into the data directory of the rooting toolkit and was able to complete the above flashboot command. I was also able to install the ROM off my SD card...however the phone still hangs on the Quietly Brilliant screen...I can't even power the phone down...whenever I try it just reboots...frustrating...really hoping someone can help me...cheers.
Before you begin, make sure that the drivers for the One X+ are installed.
Place the boot image being used on the computer's hard drive.
Boot in to recovery and flash the ROM.
When that is done, boot in to bootloader and connect the phone to the PC via a USB cable.
If the phone isn't in fastboot mode already, use the volume keys to highlight the word "fastboot", then press the power button.
Now, there should be text at the bootloader screen that says "Fastboot USB".
Finally, use the toolkit or command line and flash the kernel with the fastboot command.
This should successfully flash the ROM and the kernel. Make sure you full wipe before flashing a new ROM. If you can't seem to get the new ROM booting, the final choice is to relock the bootloader and run a RUU.
Which phone version you do own? International or AT&T / TELUS?
Did you flashed the correspondant boot.img? Did you cleared the cache? ( fastboot erase cache)
I'm trying to run an RUU but it keeps saying the battery isn't charged enough to flash anything...and this after it's been plugged in all day. Oh dear I think my phone might be done...really sucks :/
Also, it won't let me power the phone down-- every time i try it shuts the phone off briefly and then opens back up to the bootloader screen.
Fixed thanks to sarcasticphoenix. Cheers.
OK so I've tried 3 times to flash a new ROM onto my phone (Android Revolution twice and Eleganzia once) using Honsoon's toolkit...I've followed every instruction to the T as far as I can tell and all 3 times the process has gone perfectly right until the end when I flash the kernel...after that when I reboot the phone it just hangs at the Quietly Brilliant screen. I know how to relock the bootloader, flash the custom rom and get my phone back...but I really want to know what I'm doing wrong so I can install a custom ROM. I know I'm using the right ROM for my phone and am wondering what gives. Being driven crazy here...any ideas what's going wrong here would be helpful. BTW on the last attempt right after I finished and the phone hung I went into the boot loader and followed the instructions in the FAQ for fixing a bootloop...still nothing.
Edit: Solved my problem-- I managed to successfully load eleganzia...the only thing i did differently the last time was flash the kernel BEFORE installing the ROM off the SD card.

That's usually what I do first, flash the kernel and then install the zip via recovery
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda premium
Which kernel are you referring too? Actually there is one or two kernels available but only for the International version, not the AT&T/TELUS which you seem to have.
I strongly suspect that your boot looping was because you didn't flash the boot.img file correctly or not at all. And you don't seem to install the good ROM version for your phone.
Elegancia has two ROM versions one for International and one for AT&T/TELUS users.
ARHD is for International users.
Please read Q12 of the FAQ.

Lol...yeah I don`t know how I missed that. I ended up getting elegancia successfully flashed and loaded so all is well. In retrospect this was a good experience because there`s nothing like having to get yourself unforked from a bad situation to gain an understanding of what`s going on. Cheers.
I have a couple questions and since I`m not allowed to post yet in the elegancia thread I'll try in this thread first:
1) An elegancia question: Is there a way (widget) to toggle data roaming on and off in this ROM?
2) Is there a way to tweak settings (transparent pull down, selection of launcher etc.) without wiping and reflashing the ROM?
3) What are people's favorite launcher for that ROM? I tried Atom but it was just a guess because I hadn't heard of any of them. I like it so far but am curious about the others.
and by me i mean my buddy, so im asking on his behalf, so basically he unlocked the bootloader and rooted it as per the sticky, had a few problems along the way, but ended up getting rooted and flashing twrp on his phone
now he is facing some issues where he cannot copy files onto his phone via plugging into his pc, nor through the use of htc sync
on another note, he has downloaded some roms from here, in the android development thread, straight to his phone, and no matter which rom he tries, it wont boot into the rom, it flashes, but every rom hangs and bootloops, he has also tried goomanager with the same results on whatever roms are there
so, i guess in short he cant copy files to the phone through the pc, and he cant flash roms, any ideas why these issues are happening and how to fix them? could something have gone wrong in the unlocking/rooting?
