Switching from O1 to HTC Desire.

I'm selling my LG Optimus One and I'm buying a second hand HTC Desire for the same price, I think I got a fair deal. My prime reason for doing this is because the sound quality on the Desire by far exceeds that of the O1.
I am wondering guys whether you have some tips to give me before switching phones. Please share your thoughts and opinions about this deal. I'm setting my phone clean right now.
Thank you very much for the support here, thanks to you guys, my experience with my O1 has been wonderful.

I know its more or less the same phone, but from where I am, the Nexus One is more expensive than the HTC Desire. I know the N1 has noise cancellation, but the sound quality though earphones on the Desire seems better.
i have the HTC Desire HD too and can say, its good for daily usage.
Only the display isnt soooo good because its not a amoled so some colors are some
strange, but heee - its a smartphone not a TV

Hey andy!
Im getting the Desire, not the Desire HD, that one's too expensive for me. :/
Concerning the phones mentioned previously, I had a look at the developer section for both here at XDA before opting for that, seems like there's quite some good stuff going on them.
You guys think I should sell my phone with stock ROM, or with CyanogenMod?

That's true, but I already agreed to the Desire. With the price difference between these two phones here, I can save myself quite some bucks buy myself a good pair of headphones.
I hope some cool developers will also port ICS to the Desire, or even the O1 in the future.
Hmm that's what I thought too, I'm setting up CM 6.5.8 right now.

can you sell the phone with a CM installation? in germany they say "whats that, what have
you done with the phone???" ... ok, its only if you sell the phone in a second hand shop for phones -
a private person/friend will possibly know about that
Okay I made a video to show some interested to buy, sharing it here.

I thought about that, but then I realised that the mini-bluetooth keyboard I'm selling along with my phone does not work on stock ROM, and the only ROM I know which has HID support is CM. That's why I kept CM.

I would recommend you to get other devices instead actually Firstly, the HTC Desire has the multitouch axis inversion problem too! And even though its much faster than our O1,its still quite 'old' now. But the roms for it are definitely alot! Overall,I would still suggest you to hey newer phones with faster processers
The desire has random reboot problems and overheats.but not all..search it in google there are many people complaining about it

I prefer over a old phone instead new... The multitouch axis inversion is still there but why u need multitouch till 10?? Two is enuff, only stupid people covers their screen by covering with 10 fingers... What u can see? Nothing! And maybe... Nexus has ICS not official, but will be available... A 1.2ghz is consider best for gaming...

The G2X was a failure device anyways. so is the Tegra 2, i realized that after owning the Atrix. T-mobile or LG (whichever one or both) took the G2X off the walls for a good reason lol

No NEON. IMO, that is a fail toward Nvidia since they are supposed to be "revolutionary" and all. The atrix didnt have support for a lot of apps for a long time and became annoying as hell. it needed so much optimization as well since Nvidia didnt do much at all lol. The only good thing about it was the games, which our snapdragons are just as good.. Maybe it got better with drivers, im talking quite a few months back. whenever i got my sensation from the atix i was so happy. (i had CM 7 on the atrix no motocrap) so cant blame it on bloat lol. the g2x was a fail because its plauged with so many issues. makes our screen bleed look perfect. people who complain about it should go to that phone xD

i have it too, and its not fail its a great phone, the only bad thing is that nvidia nor lg release the source code for kernels, and lg doesnt care about its costumers but other than that i love the g2x

I'm in the same boat. Motorola dropped support for my phone recently, and I'm eligible for an upgrade. I have the same question as you, as I love flashing new ROMS and even mildly helping with development where I can. For me, It's coming down to the Note 2, LG Nexus (just because it will be guaranteed updates, and thus development), and possibly the One X +. I'm digging through search to see what others have said.

Oh yes, the little One is my first smartphone too. Greatest phone ever, and the best among my group of friends. I'll be switching phones in mid July, also after 2 years. I'd like a G too, but I haven't seen it around and I have a short budget. What can you recommend for mid category? Was thinking of the ZTE Grand X.
P.S. : sorry for writing this here. I just wanted to take this chance to ask. Good luck with the Giant

It's a little complicated at first sure, but not exactly hard to learn.
This post will actually walk you through Most of what you need to do for it:

Or you can use this one here since it is GEE, you just need to flash a GEEb kernel after you're done flashing the ROM, and everything should work for you.
