I have had it for years, love it, I let my mom borrow and she tried to force the charger in upside down. Anyone have any info on replacing the usb/charger port? pics, advice, prayers, anything would be better than going in blind. I have not opened it yet, but is the footprint the same as a micro-USB (which I am kinda assuming) could I possible just replace the usb with micro-USB port?
thanks in advance
cheers,

I've indicated which three connections that you will have to unplug -- in addition to unscrewing the charging board. The only two tools that you should need are a pry tool (a knife will probably do) and a Philips or Frearson screwdriver.
i had the same idea of doing that, but as far as i know that is impossible

annoying for this is exactly what i'd like!
Would this not work with the Vega in Host Mode?
I got one of these for my Advent Vega from Amazon for £16.99 delivered. It's OK. Regarding the comments made earlier:-
Problems:
"--Pin chassis, right, blocks the usb and HMDI, (with scissors and cut it to plug the usb). For there is no solution HMDI."
I guess u can cut the lug off but I didnt. Instead I bent back the right hand lug (which is designed to secure the tablet in the case) and put a little velcro on the back of the unit and the case to keep the Vega in place.
"--The keyboard does not work (The solution is to plug a hub)"
My keyboard works fine, although it took me some time to figure out why it didnt work from the off. Being a newbie to android, I didn't understand the usb host / slave stuff and there may have been another complication. I had to check the modaco forum to figure out what to do.
"Advantages:
--10$"
Damn. I paid nearly double that!
"at the end he finished in a forgotten drawer."
I like the case and use it now and then. However I primarily wanted the keyboard for use when travelling to enable me to edit word documents and the like (i.e using the Vega as a laptop/netbook substitute) which is when this particular case comes in handy. Mostly I use my Vega in pure tablet form so I normally keep it in a regular 10" protective sleeve.

Looks awesome
You just saved me £10, thanks!
I've tried having a look around and I can't find a desk charger/cradle for the Lumia 800, I know the hinged door cover makes it hard but does anyone know of one that is compatible?
Thanks!
I bought this N9 charger and it works well:

Unfortunately, it's out of stock on amazon but may be available in UK

Thanks, I'll have a look at it. Where is the micro usb socket on the n9? How does this dock deal with the open door on the 800?
Same place, top left. The N9 & Lumia 800 have the same body (barring camera button and flash LED placement).

Awesome, thanks! I was a bit worried that the phone would have to be put upside down in the cradle.
I'm off to see I can find it in stock somewhere.
That only stands the phone up, the USB charger goes in the top as normal. You'd be better off (and save money) by just leaning it against something while it's charging.
It's not the same as an iPhone dock (or some HTC docks) which connect the phone directly to a charger when you place it in the dock.

htc rhyme has connectors on the back... thats what i call dock
I say, this is a marvelous find on my behalf, I was getting to the notion that I may just have to leave my phone in a horizontal position on my desk for the rest of eternity.

Is there anyone who has an archos 70 internet tablet 250 gb with a broken screen and want to sell it?
i dont't have one - but it would be easyer to help u if u would tell wich part u need
i need the main cable that connects the screen with the main board thanks for your reply. i am searching everywhere
well that shouldn't be to hard...
they are called Flexible flat cable
u should get em on ebay or at your local electronic store
The only thing u have to research on your own is the connector type (at mainboard side). But that shouldnt be to hard - imho is should be one of the default connectors for those cables - even im not sure.
Maby "scholbert" knows... u could ask him.
Count the pins and try to buy one - no need for a full device
thanks for your advice but the this cable have other connection on it too is not so simple thanks...

well the picture is quite small - but I can see it's a bit different "style" then in my 101...
Anyway as there shouldn't be lines carrying combined signals - it still should be possible to rebuild that...
I fear that's the only way u have atm - since we don't know any reseller for replacement parts as far as i know - I saw quite a few people now asking for different things batteries, digitizer, display,...
But the only solution was to take it from broken device each time (besie I saw some sceen without digitizer around)
wich leads to ebay,.. but most time they are not "that" cheap...
yes i am waiting on ebay for something for me but may someone has something here
here is a bigger picture of the cable. i am going to take another picture where the actual problem on the cable is tomorrow.
here is my actual problem one of the bins in my Flexible flat cable is destroyed.
thanks for your help.
help!!!!!!!
any good news guys??????
Where can I get A10S LCD-KD wire which connects mainboard to the display? I googled, but with no really success.
I blame myself for being so curious in what is there inside (I hear mechanical noises inside, but there's no HDD, I think they was from the power filters). When i opened the case - mainboard to display wire was split up in two parts of a wire where it was soldered (contacts badly damaged) and that's all... (
The ports are seems ok... Only wire...
Can you place a photo ?
One of XDA members send me a replace. I think I'll receive it this month.
And the photo:

I didn't found the site to buy this cable either. Some good guy on this forum helped me with the cable, but wasn't sent it, because he's busy right now. Maybe someone here will help you with the cable, good luck.
The guy who offers me help with the cable did not contact me more than a week, so I think he will not send me a cable.
Too bad...
Can anyone point me at where to find these cables? I don't want to throw it, a tablet is good, I want it to work.
Perhaps a flie market or something like that.

Hello i also have this broken cable and not sure where to get a replacement either, if someone has one to sell id be happy to buy it + postage also i would like to know what this cable is called if poss?
That cable can be carefully detached and attached, I've repaired my Archos 101G9 exactly that way with the working cable.
But that's only info, good luck you all in searching.
Dont forget about sticking it with a strong scotch tape!
Hey there guys today I'm going to show you how to repair your usb cable (top part) if the cable has been broken! If the cable has been suddenly dead and you see that one of your 4 inner cables are partially broken!)
What you need:
A screw driver or something that can tear loose the plastic part on the top of the cable (or something similar) I'm a screw driver)
This is what i used:

Now be careful we don't want to break anything! we want to be able to use the parts again after you fixed the steps
Once you taken the plastic part of and that damn rubber thingy
You'll see 2 metallic peaces that holds together everything. Be careful when taking these away these are useful!
Once they are removed you should have a cable looking like this
Now the tricky part is to not start to remove the green part and pull the cables out. make sure you remember the order! else it won't charge! (See picture) for correct order!
Picture taken from downside of the usb
Picture taken from upper side of the usb
NOTE The 4 cables needs to have same length so they all get connected properly!
Once you put them in correctly put back the green part and the black part, press so you hear a slightly click!
Once done put the metallic parts back (the one that is inside of the other is bottom part) the metallic that goes above the other one is top part!
Once done put back the plastic on and you're done! :highfive:
I know it looks horrible but at least the cable is working!
Nice Guide
And thank you for taking time to post.
Yes i already knew how to do this BUT for the noobies a handy guide
Over here in uk as we are lazy buggers we pop to the Pound shop and grab another!
Careful with getting another one
Cheap USB cables are 24/24 and can only provide 300-500mA power,
you need a proper quality 24/28 cable that is certified to atleast 1200mA for the Lg G3, and a 2A cable is recommended.
its a bit more expensive
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Anker®-5-Pa...id=1429352682&sr=8-6&keywords=micro+usb+cable
But when you notice that your phone is charging twice as fast as that PoS you got at poundland you know its worth the money.
