Just upgraded from the Note 2 and disappointed to find out Momax did not make the same case that I been using for the 3.
Overall, any opinions on a case that has a kickstand and does portrait and landscape well?
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk
I wish somebody knew. The VZW hard case has 2 way kickstand but fits so tight I broke my volume key taking it off. It also offers no protection on top or bottom only back and sides.
Amzer makes one but I can't find a single picture showing it in both portrait and landscape view.
Please help us find a good case!
I have 2 in mind, one is super slim and the other is super bulky lol

You mean like hard to press? If so not at all. It's 2 part case. Rubber inner and polycarbonate skeleton
I use the Trident Kraken AMS, and it has a solid metal kickstand that is also reversible. Also provides superior protection for my phone. I dropped it down 30 flights of stairs at the mall escalator, and not a scratch. It's pure quality.
Probably makes it too thick but I will check it out. Thanks.

OK, I bought the Reiko Polymer Hybrid Kickstand Case. It is excellent, in fact I ordered a second one. Now...can anyone suggest a horizontal belt clip pouch that it will fit in? I have one Reiko pouch that isn't quite long enough and another that is so deep it is hard to get the phone out even though it is a perfect fit.
The phone in case is 6.3 x 3.25 x .6 inches. Anybody know a belt clip horizontal pouch it will fit in?
If you can DIY then check my signature.
I'd rather buy one

I still haven't found a manufactured case that I liked which has a good portrait kickstand.
But my DIY case does take a bit of work, patience and care.
Oh, I am very content with my reiko case now. I have seen your thread but did not make the connection. Now I am merely looking for a belt clip pouch to carry my note 3 in its case in. I have one pouch too small and another too large.

I prefer belt clips that have a J type of design so that if anything hits the case from underneath, the case cannot slip off the belt. The bottom of the clip catches the belt on the way up. Most tight metal belt clips will slide up if for example, you sit in a tight movie seat and the seat arm pushes up on the bottom of the case and knocks the case off your belt.
Does the PDAir clip on this case have a way of stopping this scenario?
Hmm... I have always liked belt clips/cases but I think the Note is too big to be dangling from my waist. I'd like to order one just to try it out though.
I bought a Nite Ize xlarge belt case with a clip off amazon. It should be here today. The note should fit and may be a snug fit. I has on of these for my Inspire and liked it.
Still waiting for the Nutshell/Tough-as-Nuts case to be released but I'm definitely getting one. They'll even make it oversized for a small upcharge if you want it to fit an add-on shell.

I just bought the Mobo Carrera slim Horizontal case (for the Galaxy Nexus) and I have to say that I'm very happy with it. It fits the LTEvo nice and snug. The phone doesn't budge at all, especially when shaken vigorously. Also magnet doesn't come off when turned upside and shaken hard. The case is nice and slim to complement the slimness of the LTEvo. The interior is outlined in red leather (sort of complements the phone as well). The belt clip is made of metal (but covered in leather) and swivels but the swivel is rigid and doesn't move with little force with is good to me; stays in the position it is set to. Has the opening at the bottom to allow you to push the phone up to easily remove it.
If you are interested in a horizontal case, then this might be the one for you. Just google Mobo Carrera Horizontal case Galaxy Nexus; amazon has it here Mobo Carrera Horizontal Carrying Case. Other site sell it as well.
I bought 2 more slim cases and I'll write about them here as well when they come in this coming week.

Well I didn't keep the other two cases. One was too big for the LTEvo that the phone flopped around in the case. That was a killer for me, so I didn't even bother to give it another thought.
The other one is the one pictured below. It was a case for the Galaxy Nexus so it didn't really fit all that well. Don't get me wrong the case was well designed but the dimensions were just short of fitting the LTEvo. The LTEvo was hanging out of the case. If they make one specifically for the LTEvo, it would be worth investing in it.

If you don't mind my asking, what cases were the ones that were too big? Also do you think they'd fit the Evo with a silicone or TPU case on? Thanks!
Ditto to the above I like a gorm fitting holster but I never go out without a case. For work I use the Otterbox commuter with the seido active holster but for regular use, I use a thin TPU case. I have yet to find a holster that is thin and long enough to fit the phone with a TPU case.

Slim Armor is not that good for protection, especially drop protection. It has like no lip.
Uag is awesome and they aren't as bulky as they seem in pics. I've had one for my S3 and S4 and they do protect extremely good against drops.

I had the UAG Scout for my Note 2. It protected my phone perfectly through multiple drops. The case never got scuffed either. It was pretty bulky though. No where near Otterbox Commuter size (which I also owned).

Now we talking that's what I need , I'm more so looking for protection from drops that cosmetic .
Only drawback is UAG won't be available for weeks to come according to their website
Otterbox or Trident would be the best for drop protection. I wouldn't consider any slimmer cases to be the "best" in drop protection. I remember watching a video where a guy just threw his iPad with Otterbox from the second story window multiple times. Nothing broke on the iPad.

I'd say the best cases will be either the Otterbox defender or the Armour version if one is made, the Seidio Rugged, or the Ballistic Maxx. All are going to be producing a case specifically designed to provide the maximum protection. I had an otterbox on the note 2 and it had been dropped numerous times down my stair and never a scratch. My wife has a Ballistic Maxx on her S3 and she is quite accident prone but her phone is unscathed. I think the Ballistic case is rated at a 15 meter drop distance. I'm not sure about the others.

So I've seen the supcase and the MoKo case but I hate both of them. They are so bulky.
Is there any hope of a holster case for the Nexus 6 compatible with a bumper from Crashguard or Spigen until Crashguards gets produced?
I like having my phone feel slim in my hands and look elegant, but yet entering into the phablet I'd much rather have a holster than having it sit in my pocket.

Im in the exact same situation-- just now decided to use the search function and stumbled across this thread. Any luck in your search? I am not a fan of adding any more bulk to this phone, and have always preferred the naked phone approach. But with a device this big, I've decided I need to have at least a holster for it. Sadly, everything I look at is either huge beyond belief, comes with a case, or fugly as a giant fanny pack. Just wanted to let you know that if you're still in the market for a modest, slim and functional holster-- I plan to fabricate my own once my preorder arrives. If I'm successful I'll be sure to post a thread.

If you're going to make your own holster for it I'd be very interested in getting one. Well, I shouldn't need any help with the holster. Currently just planning on a simple pouch with a flap cover and belt clip. Nothing fancy at all. Just hoping to make one thats slimmer than what I see online. Yeah I was planning to use leather and fiberglass. Fiberglass molded from the phone to keep a slim fit while lining the inside of the leather holster for support and protection. That was the plan anyway, because I had stock of those two items. However I have yet to find access to a sewing machine... The hell if I'm going to go out and buy one for this hahaha. Kydex may be an option. I've never worked with it before, but seems doable.

This may have to suffice for now (if the N6 fits). Its the closest thing I can find to something slim and minimal while hitting on some of the functional points I was looking for. That swiveling clip is a bit of a bonus.

Its is a really nice fit with no case. I think that is what it is really designed for. I stretched mine out a little so that I can fit it with a case. I have tried many holsters over the years and always end up using a seidio but I think for the Nexus 6 I will stick with the Turtleback. It is hands down the nicest leather holster I have seen. Also I have already purchased 8 different slim cases and prefer the Spigen (SF Black).

Yes it will be a good idea to protect the $2000 phone which can easily get damaged.

For sure
I bought some sunglass microfiber pouches for a couple dollars on amazon. Works great...mildly inconvenient to deal with, but good for piece of mind.

Not bad but it can’t provide drop protection.
There are other options which can provide it.

@mastibeta, mind providing me with the link you used to purchase your Squaretrade policy?
What about this pouch from eBay:

Doesn't look too bad.

Not bad at all. I picked up a Nintendo DS microfiber pouch from a Diaso here in Japan. Been working great, before that I was using the glasses pouch a pair of Gunner glasses I got came in. It's been helping a lot with minimizing lint and debris
I use mine in the Spigen Thin Fit Case (as it has better camera protection) and it ain't bulky. I then carry it around in a Shocksock Neoprene pouch. It's a nice snug fit.

As there seem to be no screen protectors available for the front, I just got a Forefront Galaxy S10+ protector and cut it to fit. I also used a Galaxy S10 rear camera protector which I cut down.

It's nice to have almost full protection. Shame that cases that cover the spine aren't out yet.
If anyone is interested, I have a brand new fitBag in black color Napa leather made to specifically fit the Samsung Galaxy Fold. If interested please PM me.

**Update - SOLD
I've been using a neoprene pouch for my phones ever since I got one included with the Nexus One several years ago. I usually have a protective case on the phone too.
I get them from ebay and they are relatively cheap. I just took a look now and the type I use isn't available for the fold, but there is one with a flap and carabiner. It's what I would buy if I had a fold.

I have mine in the official Samsung leather case, which I then also slide into a Shocksock pouch. That pouch is such a good fit, it's hard to imagine it wasn't manufactured especially for the Fold. The price is right, too.
I got a shock sock from Amazon for mine, made of neoprene, it will provide some drop protection, again mildly inconvenient to use but worth it for the price. Keeps pocket lint away from the device and is splash proof
