Extreme Wakeup Lag - AT&T LG Optimus G

Since yesterday I have been suffering from extreme wake up lag and I haven't found a way to fix it. If I leave my phone asleep for longer than a few seconds it takes up to 10 or 15 seconds for my phone to wake up again. Also, my phone has not going into deep sleep. I LGNPST'd back to stock and hard reset my phone. After that I flashed PA beta 6 back again to see if the issue would go away but it doesn't. It tried to narrow it down and the problem persists on whatever ROM I flash after I flash GAPPS. I've even tried different versions of GAPPS too but the problem still exists. I've been trying every solution but I can't find one so I would please love some assistance

Weird bug, are you using banks gapps?
Sent from my Optimus G

no im using the PA Gapps that are from the ROM page

Then perhaps you should use a different one to see what happens.
Sent from my Optimus G

Yesterday I flashed the Banks minimal GApps and the issue is still there. The only way that I found right now to get rid of it is to not allow the CPU to sleep with the Red Eye Sleep toggle app. Allowing the CPU to sleep still causes the wake up lag

G Tablet shuts down after going to sleep

Has anyone had any issue with the G Tablet shutting down after it goes to sleep? Right now I am running virtually stock (rooted with latest VS update). If I leave the tablet for 10 minutes the screen will shut off as expected, but when I try to wake it by hitting the power momentarily the tablet does nothing. If I press power for a few seconds the tablet boots up as it does from being completely shut down.
If I select sleep from the power off menu, I can wake it if I hit the power button or home button, but only if I do it within about 30 seconds. If I wait any longer, it seems to shutdown. I don't see any settings anywhere for this.
Other than this, everything else seems fine. About the only other thing I can think to mention is I did flash to tnt lite 2.02 and had to recover due to boot loops. I've reset, cleared data and cache, etc...
Thanks for any feedback.
Same happens to mine sometime. Currently running TNT 2.02
I've noticed this a few times also. I have no idea what's causing it. Fortunately, boot up is fast!
Same here
Not all the time, but close to half.
Plain vanilla not rooted.
mysterious fix
I had the similar problem where is shuts off half the time after pressing the sleep button. The symptom went away after installing the Miren browser. Can't explain it.
SH
This was happening to me and I tried many nvflashes and every rom so everything you can try. I exchanged mine today after a lot of research online and now for the first time it sleeps and wakes up. I am certain that there are just a few models that can not be fixed.
So happy to be able to hit the power button to have it wake up.
I recommend if you still can then exchange it for another.
My Malata Zpad does this sometimes too. I thought it was movement that did it, or the magnets on the case, but it looks to do it at random (or when something runs in the background?)
It used to do it 5-6 times a day, now that it's a week old it seems to do it maybe once or twice a day.
I am having the same problem. I do not remember this before the last update (3389).
The tablet is stock, not rooted.
I use the volume button to wake mine.
any one else having this problem? just got my g tablet today and it always shuts down when it goes to sleep
any way to fix it?
i was going to root it right away but hesitating now since it will void warranty - the shutdown after sleep is kinda annoying...thanks
Yeah I had similar issues under stock firmware but subsequent patches fixed the issue for me. Have yet tohave it happen on vegan or tnt lite roms.

so any suggestions?

Did you wipe to factory reset before going to vegan? Mine was doing that, but I never did factory wipe for subsequent vegan updates. Since I have done the clean install, never had this problem.
There are also several kernel updates which allows VPN, cifs, ntfs and other enhancement as well as higher fps.
Love my tablet.
well i only have the tablet for a few hours - and that was a problem out of the box
before installing anything i did the "wipe user data" option from the settings menue in the original/stock TnT - then logged in using Family name - and shut down to root (install CM/vegan ect)
i just downloaded and installed this: "1.0.0 Beta5.1 Link" - thats posted on the first post on the vegan thread
so didn't install any kernal updates or anything yet...if you can point me towards them and what to install i would really appreciate it - thanks
also seem to have a problem where no matter where on the homescreen i swipe down it pulls down the notification bar - any way to fix that?
my solution
I had the same problem out of the box as well. I tried using the Vegan rom with the same result. I went ahead and downloaded a free app called hibernate from the market. It puts it to sleep and allows me to wake it up like how its suppose to. As of now, it has yet to shutdown when asleep.
My ghetto fix til someone can truly id the problem with a proper solution. Hope this helps...

If you are running ADW launcher it is a "gestures" setting that can be changed in the ADW specific settings.
The ntofication bar problem was caused by adw ex launcher
Still having problems with the sleep mode thing, tried all thedelete user data and cashed deleting still no luck
Other then that I really love this tablet. So should I return it?

Mine too
I'm having this same problem....I find it hard to believe this is a "hardware" issue although I guess its possible. I'm running Vegan 5.1beta but it did it with the stock 3389 firmware too before I upgraded.
This issue is the only fatal flaw thus far I've run into, I'd love to get it resolved.

This is a "bump".
I just wanted to know if the folks with the original issue on this thread (gTab shutting down after sleep) tried my suggestion and if so did it fix the issue for them?
I had the same problem and it fixed it for me.

EC10 Kernel Problem?

So I can't post in the developer section yet but, I have noticed a problem since flashing to the EC10 kernel. If I have messaging open and in a message if I hit the power button to put the phone e to sleep it crashes and reboots.
I was running, Super Clean 2.9, DL09, EB16, no voodoo
I wiped all data, cache and dalvik cache, then using clockwork flashed the kernel then super clean again.
Now I'm running SuperClean 2.9, DL09, EC10, no voodoo and have the problem?
I'm going to try and reflash everything tonight, just wondering if anyone else expierenced this? I can repeat the problem over and over so its not just a random fluke.
*edit*
So I can crash the phone about 75% of the time, sometimes usually by trying to put the phone to sleep with a program open.
*edit*
So after deleting that particular conversation the problem no longer occurs. Not sure what the deal was.
Im thinking it had something to do with a mms file you recieved or sent
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
So I spoke to soon, the problem occurs in other things besides messaging.
My phone crashed 20+ times today. I can pretty much cause it crash on purpose at this point. It will almost always crash if I try and put it to sleep without returning to the home screen before putting it to sleep, or before it puts itself to sleep. If I return to the home screen first it really doesn't do it. When it goes to sleep the menu, home, back, search buttons all light up, but the screen is off, if I'm on the phone or have music playing, that continues for 10-15 seconds, then the boot animation appears, and it has restarted.
I do have the log files to if that would help anyone?
I'm so relieved I'm not the only one experiencing this! I was beginning to think that my phone was physically broken or something.
Like Ohio I'm experiencing lots and lots of crashes and restarts when I hit the power button to turn the screen off and even sometimes when the screen goes off on its own, and this happens on SC2.9.2 for me, but I also think it was happening on AOSP with an EC10 kernel, though I'd written it off at the time as a fluke before it started happening every few minutes on SC.
I can make it crash very frequently by pressing the power button while I'm watching a Youtube video or if I am at the glass swipe lockscreen and I press the power button while holding the phone upside down to turn the screen off. Very strange. In addition, it also does it seemingly randomly throughout the day, and it actually did it again not 3 minutes ago for no reason at all as it was just on the homescreen.
I have no recollection of this ever happening before EC10, and I've tried multiple EC10 kernels with UV and standard voltage as well as multiple ROM installs after complete wipes, all of which produce similar results.
I don't know if it's related, but I've also been experiencing freezes where the screen stays on but becomes completely unresponsive, save for the touch keys which will still flash but not make the haptic feedback work. I have to do a battery pull to get it to work again. I can make THIS happen merely by browsing the Reddit Is Fun app for about five minutes, which it has never, ever done before, but I've also had it freeze up on me at other times as well, including two minutes after a SC install where I was just signing into the Market.
I'm going to go back to an EB kernel and see if things go a little better. Are there others out there having these issues with EC10?
I went back to Superclean 2.9.0 with its stock EB01 kernel, and I've had no more issues with the crashes and resets at screen off.

I'm not having these issues. Try to fix permissions and wipe the dalvik cache (under advanced in CWM).

Phone randomly freezes, requiring hard reboot

For a while now, my phone has randomly been freezing, becoming completely unresponsive and requiring either a battery pull or a reboot by holding down the power button. It began a couple months ago while running Task's AOKP ICS with ktoonsez's Fluxi XX kernel. The odd thing is that the phone was stable (ie. no freezes) for the first few months under that setup before it started happening once every few days.
When the frequency of freezes went up to about once a day, I did a full wipe (formatted data and system, cleared cache and dalvik) and flashed Slimbean 2.7 with stock kernel, thinking that maybe something had gotten corrupt in my previous setup. That didn't fix anything, so I flashed ktoonsez's Siyah kernel to see if anything would change. Nothing did, so I kept with that setup (currently on Slim 2.9, Siyah 4.3.3).
The freezing is now occurring anywhere between 1-3 times a day, and I can't for the life of me figure out what is causing it. Sometimes it occurs after interacting with the screen, other times it happens while it's charging and the screen is off. Most recently it occurred around a minute after I changed a volume setting and was in the middle of a Scramble with Friends game.
I pulled the last_kmsg (attached) after rebooting the device; I don't know how to go about recording a logcat due to the random timing of freezing. I also don't know how to interpret the last_kmsg, which is what brings me here.
I did take a perfunctory glance at the file and noticed that the log doesn't seem to be very "clean", in the sense that the output is garbled in several places with random capitalizations and incorrect characters (ex. instead of "ignore request by suspending" on line 30 it reads "ignore bequect bY Suspe&ding"). I don't know if this is indicative of anything, and if it is I would be very curious to know what.
Anyways, if anyone has the time to spare to help me look through this to try to find the cause of my problem, I would be very grateful. Thank you in advance.

Do you have stock kernel settings? I know underclocking GPU can do that
Sent from my GS4 running CM11 Kandy Kane
I tried to keep all stock settings for the purposes of trying to whittle down the list of possible causes, but I did change the following in ExTweaks:
CPU Step Count: 15 -> 6
Load_H0, Load_L1: 25%, 25% (I think originally was 30%, 23% or something)
Mali Touch Boost level: Step3 -> Disabled
Disabled I/O-Tweaks in Cortexbrain

Keep it stock then try
Sent from my GS4 running CM11 Kandy Kane
I should have mentioned that I made these changes a few days after flashing Siyah. During the time that it was stock, freezing still occurred.
My suspicion is that there is some sort of hardware malfunction causing this to happen, considering that it has occurred across both ICS and JB platforms running on different kernels. I would actually be mildly surprised if it is due to ROM or kernel. Still hoping an interpretation of the last_kmsg will reveal more information about this.

Flash stock and factory reset within the ROM after booting up with stock. Just make sure you backup you SDCARD to your PC as it will format your SDCARD. Go from there and see if it happens stock.

[Q] Strange problem with my P7510

My P7510 started to do a strange thing.
I usually never turn off the device and I just let it in sleep mode with everything off to save battery (wifi, bluetooth, ...)
Lately I noticed that sometimes the screen turns on and off by itself every few minutes.
No physical harm has ever been done to the tab and the power button doesn't seem to be sticky, so I think it may be some kind of malware.
I'm just asking what do you guys think could cause this before going with the trouble of doing a factory reset.
btw i'm on rooted stock ics rom.
thanks
Have you installed any sort of app that has permissions to wake the device or turn on/keep the screen on when running? Try uninstalling a couple of recent apps to see if one of them is the culprit.

[Q] Keeps Rebooting

hey guys, my atrix is running Epinter's unofficial Cyanogenmod 10.1 rom and it keeps rebooting. anyway to stop it?
So you're saying your phone is running an alpha-quality software and it's not working right? Hmm, I wonder why...
I believe we have the same problems, my phone keeps rebooting all the time with cm9&cm10. I read that this application can solve the rebooting problem but it will consume more battery. I think that it prevents that the cpu goes to deep sleep, but not sure about it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.thedarken.wl
In my case the reboots are related to deep sleep because every time i turn off the screen, like 20sec-1min later it reboots
These roms are alpha dude, These issues will continue until we have a new kernel. The weird thing is I used epinter's CM10.1 without random reboots.
Here's the link for the kernel thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2016837
