[Q] Headphones not working on 4.4 roms - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My headphones wont work ever since ive been on 4.4 kitkat roms such as temaseks CM 11 v38 or v50 and also resurrection remix v5.0.4, what happens is i cant start a song on the default google play music app or doubletwist and it will play through the headphones and when i click the home button the song will continue to play but as soon as i now open up a new app or the music app again or even just touch the status bar or bring up the recent apps menu then the music will just continue playing but no sound will come out of the headphones but as soon as i go back to home then it plays fine through the headphones instantly again. this only happens with 2 pairs headphones and not with my samsung earphones which has an inbuilt mic and also volume control on it unlike the headphones could this be linked to the problem please help thanks.

Anyone have a car dock and on superclean 2.x?

I need verification that audio out does, or does not work with the included music player. I am getting conflicting reports that the tw music player may be needed.
Tried it on stock music player, video and pandora.
No audio comes out on external speakers.
Also noticed there is no option in settings for "dock settings"
which I've seen before in previous versions.
I haven't tried super clean 2.7, but I remember in one of the previous versions, the modified Samsung Car dock has a button that resembled the audio out button in the TW music app. The button in the car dock app didn't do anything. I was able to get audio out using the TW music player.
I can re-test this if you want - just let me know which specific super clean version and I'll give it a go. I'll have to do some reading on 2.7 though... looks like it uses a newer CWM? I'm not on that yet.

I thought at first that speaker button on music app is for speaker mute.
Thanks for info, I re-tested and confirming that audio works on external speaker.
I'm on 2.7v.
There are to version of Car Dock out there
The original version only works with Samsung Music Player and a modified version works with ASOP music player.
With the first one, you have the speaker button the cardock to enable and disable the external sound. You have the same button on Samsung Music Player
With the modified version, you only have it on the cardock. The cardock has to be on the foreground for that sound to work. If you exit it, it stop working. If you launch an app infront of it, it stop working.
I just use the Samsung music player for the audio out button...I honestly think it's better. However, before that, I was using Power Amp Pro. It would work by starting PowerAmp, pressing home to go to the car dock app, then click the aux out button. From there, you can long press home and select your music app and the audio will still play through the speakers.
there are only two ways to get the audio out of the car dock. trhe sammy car dock has the blue mute button. if you want to use another car dock you have to use the sammy music player. in the now playing screen there is a phone button, push it.
Got a car dock. Audio out works once you toggle the speaker icon. (Initially, I thought it was "mute", as have others.)
Success with other apps relates directly to car dock mode, but can work. For example, launching Pandora will play through phone's speaker, but once car dock is brought forward, it will play through audio out. You can then use notification bar to bring Pandora forward again so you can interact with it. Other apps are similarly squirrely, but can also work.
Forgot to mention: currently on SC2.8.

Play/pause button functioning but not working

First off let me state what i have going on. I have a droid razr maxx, with the OTA JB 4.1.2. I'm stock rooted currently. I'm also using LG HBS 700 bluetooth headset, which are fantastic by the way. On ICS i had no issues, but now i am. When i use the play/pause button on my headset, the music in my ear stops, but it actually only mutes the music on my phone and the time is still ticking. This happens while using n7player, doubletwist, and play music, also while being used with media button controller, and without media button controller. The play/pause button on my headset used to work on ice cream sandwich, it would stop the music in my ears, and pause the music on the phone. Now it is only muting the music and the track keeps playing.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
i will be checking back frequently so if you need any more details please let me know.
Thanks
Nick

[Q]Sound playback issue through earphones

I'm having this weird thing. I don't think i had this problem on MIUI but on 3 different kitkat roms, i play music and i can listen to it in earphone but if i close the music app, leave the earphones plugged in and try to play music again, they don't catch any sound unless i remove them, play it on speakers and while playing, if i insert the earphone, i get the playback.
Anyone else experienced it?

[SOLVED] LG L7 II plays music in mono

I'm using JVC headphones to listen music on my smartphone.

I noticed that the sound is playing in mono. No matter what I'm using music player sound in headphones always is in mono. This is not problem with headphones, on other hardware plays good.
My OS is Android KitKat 4.4.2, stock ROM with root and xposed. Anyone noticed that issue?
I found it!! Enabling OK Google option in Google Search makes audio play mono. After disabling OK Google need to reboot.

Headphone play/pause buttons (only) stopped working.

I've had this issue across multiple headphones and apps, including Podcast Addict and Google Play Music. On my Bluetooth headphones, the volume and previous/next track buttons work fine, but the play/pause button has stopped working. Does anyone know if there's a fix? Some setting somewhere? Did a recent update break it? BTW I'm using a OnePlus 2 on the latest version of OxygenOS.
