Phone booting in loop and cannot unbrick - Galaxy Ace S5830i Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi !
I am using a Samsung Ace S5830i since 2 years now with a custom ROM : Ace-i-Sure 12.0, all worked properly.
Yesterday I installed an app, I do not remember which one but I think it was a game, then my phone rebooted and looped on the boot animation.
I am used to unbrick my phone and change ROM so it did not scared me.
I tried to flash the stock ROM I used to flash everytime my phone has been bricked. Flashing went OK but my phone kept looping.
I tried to wipe data/factory reset but nothing changes.
I tried with another stock ROM found here and nothing changes either.
Do you know what might causes this problem ?

Reinstall the Ace-i-Sure ROM or Back to Stock ROM
You can use this guide to install the stock rom.

I tried flashing your firmware amolgosavi and followed exactly the steps of your tutorial brijeshep but nothing changes...
Can my phone be hard-bricked ?
I don't know why it happened, it was working well since a couple of months ?

You can try this..Flash Stock ROM via ODIN.. This will help:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3d7AS3Is4bk
and no it is not hard-bricked...
Hit thanks if I helped

I tried all the solutions you gave me but nothing works, I do not understand...
I might buy a new phone, but I ain't got much monyer, I can spend maybe 100€ or 200€ maximum

Does your phone enters into download mode and detected in odin?
What's the status during flashing ?
Then try the flashing methods on another pc.

Help. My galaxy ace keeps restarting itself.

Recently my phone has just been restarting itself allot and it is getting very annoying. The phone would just be sitting beside me and the next thing I see is the Samsung boot screen. It never restarts when I'm using the phone. Just when it's standing by.
I was thinking an emergency firmware recovery through Samsung kies might work. But I'm afraid of losing my apps. If I do this will the apps be removed or will they be there just as usual?
Current android version that i have is gingerbread 2.3.3
Thanks for any help or advice in advance
For me i would back up all my app to the computer (music, videos, pics, apps etc.) and then update.

i doubt there would be firmware recovery available from kies [who uses kies this days].. as your last firmware installation was total there wont be recovery....
if you choose to root [your choice]... you can backup your apps and then try to do anything.... if you just need to backup apks then use AppMonster.. this will just backup apks not whole data with them
try to flash stock firmware with odin again
This hasnt been brought up recently since a lot of the active users here uses CM7 nowadays, so I'm guess that this is simply SOD(sleep of death) caused by wifi.
You might resolve this by turning off the wifi when ure not using it.
When I turn WiFi off, it still restarts itself, all the time

Last time I tried odin, I bricked the phone, I don't really want to try that again.
If there is a full step by step guide to flash cyanogen mod for the ace with odin, I'll give it a try

Solved with cyanogenmod
I gave cyanogenmod 7.2 a go on my ace.
So far no problems! I will post if I come across any sort of restart. But so far it's great.
Thanks for all the replies you guys, I really appreciate your help!!
Phone restarting with cyanogen mod
I flashed cyanogen mod on my phone and there were no problems until last week. The phone hasn't been restarting just not waking up. Then I have to pull the battery out to get it to go again. My phone can't go 24 hours without we having to restart it once or twice .
Is there any way to fix this. Thanks

thanks for your suggestion but I've already tried reflashing it. through Odin and clockwork recovery. Both giving the same result.
I am following the instructions to flash exactly but still restarts.
sorry for your problem man, but i didn't face such problem.. i'm flash and using almost all of custom ROMs available from various devs.. use them at least a week and its nice..
try flashing it again using cwm 5, may be it will solve your prob.. currently i'm using nims11 infinity v2..
CWM5
Where do you get cwm for galaxy ace. I have version 4 and that might be causing problems with the updated cyanogenmod.
Thanks for all your help and suggestions!
Is the installation just the same as other versions?
boot in recovery mode and install update from sd?
If I can get cwm 5 from somewhere, I'll give it a go!
If I have cyanogenmod already installed with cwm 4 can I install cwm 5 and not worry about it, or will I need to reflash cyanogen again?
try flashing cwm 5, n then, flash cm7 again..

You flashed cm7.2 with cwm4??Flash cwm5 and then try a reflash of cm7
I've flashed cwm5 then wiped the phone using it then I flashed cyanogenmod, (the one from the xda forums at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1263292 )
There was no problems, I restored all my apps using titanium backup. Then just a few minutes before this post I came to my phone and it wouldn't light up. (Sleep of death I think you call it?) I had to pull the battery out to get it to go again.
It was plugged into the charger at the time
Bluetooth was on
Wifi was off
Mobile internet was on
Before I locked the screen it was syncing gmail. (This probably isn't a problem)
I have the 'all apps movable to sd card' thing checked in cyanogenmod settings to.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Chris.

Flashing back to vodafone stock rom from resurrection v.9.2

Hello guys,
I must admit I am an absolute noob a bit out of my depth and panicking a little bit now. I successfully rooted and flashed my phone with a custom rom, the resurrection ics v9.2 however I wanted to go back to stock vodafone rom. So i downloaded BUKE1 vodafone firmware and flashed it using ODIN. Now my phone is stuck in a bootloop with the galaxy S II logo repeatedly appearing. I have just left it as is as I am now too scared to do anything :/
Any advice on what I can do? I know you guys have been over this a million times but I am freaking out.
I have read the boot loop thread above and it says to flash a stock rom using odin but that is what I had already done...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Jake
Try wiping all possible things in recovery.
And don't worry, atleast some1 pro will help you to get your phone to boot, also can you get to recovery and download mode
Sent from my sgs2 running cm9 using xda app
Hey thanks for the quick reply, I can get to recovery mode definitely. I just went in and wiped user data / factory reset option. Do you think I should try flashing a different stock vodafone rom?
Ok after wiping user data it now appears to be fine. I'm sorry for wasting your time.
it is recommended that you wipe everything after flashing in order to avoid boot loops or similar errors
glad it worked out for ya

[Q] Galaxy note GT-N7000 stuck factoryfs.img

hello,
Im new here
I've been upgrading to ICS from the official update which is N7000DXLP9-----------------------2012 May-----------N7000OLBLP6-----------Indonesia from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
it works great, until I see some red frame around and tried to fix it by going to buildprop and editing the buildtype from dev to user (what I found on the internet), but then I found out that mine is already user so I tried changed it to dev and when I restart, the phone stuck on samsung logo, but I am still able to go to recovery mode, the problem is I cant get odin to flash any rom to my note, it always stuck at factoryfs.img. then I installed abys kernell to wipe my factory reset, cache, dalvik, then I started to flash with odin again, with the patched pit file I got from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1667886, and the official update from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997, suddenly it works, and I tried to restore data from CWM ( stupid me)....turns out it got back again on the logo samsung and stuck there and so i tried flashing again and it started to stuck around factoryfs everytime, I tried to use abyss but this time after I wiped everything and used the patched pit file like before, it still stuck, so I found a post from the internet, it was custom ICS, i forgot where i got it but i have the file if you'd like to know, and so i tried, then it leaves me with my counter started to count 1 and still stuck at factoryfs....and I cant even go to recovery mode now, I have tried USB JIG and I succeeded to turn the counter back to zero but still stuck at factoryfs.img and still cant go to recovery mode even through bootloader,..... please help! i love my gnote
finally i got my note back....
but it was by guarantee. ... and still i would like to know how to get out of such stuck.... please help

Hi Bro m stck at the same position as u so can u please tell me how did u get this fixed ?
Honestly it is all very confusing. Best to stick to a reputable source for flashing and troubleshooting.
There are dangerous guides on the internet not updated to circumnavigate later discovered brick.

Bootloop even after full wipe many times

Okay first of all, my phone was working fine but suddenly i had to use the GSII_repair app from the market
since my phone cannot suddenly detect any simcards. I used the 1-2 steps in the app since it said i had to reboot.
Then after that It went to a bootloop, tried flashing stock ICS rom it works but the phone suddenly turns off everytime before the S logo finishes its animation! what could be the problem?
may be soft brick

what did you used? ICS or gingerbread version in flashing? did you have to partition or you just flashed pda/bootloader/kernel?

1.Flash stock kernel, put in PDA block of Odin.
2.After that Flash all 4, bootloader,PDA,Phone & CSC same time.
Get a 4-file firmware. (PHONE, PDA, APBOOT, CSC)
Make sure you're not using a 4.0.4 leak - use a 4.0.3 official firmware.
If this doesn't work, flash a custom kernel and wipe /data.
If it still doesn't work, flash a custom ROM (CM9, CM10, AOKP). Once you've got that up and running, return to TouchWiz if you wish.

Can you get into cwm recovery ?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Yes and im talking about the first boot screen.
The one where we see the Galaxy s2 logo.
Not the S Animation.
I'm stuck, tried PITT,departitioning , kernel, pda ,csc .
Could the GSII_repair kit messed up something much more?
Got into the S animation on ICS stock but phone shuts down even before the S animation has finished appearing.
And I had to have the usb plugged into the phone just so i can power it on.

[Q] Jellybean Softbrick help!

Hi,
After some assistance if possible.
I have the international version of GS2. Purchased in the UK.
Yesterday flashed the new Jellybean ROM through ODIN as found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2113088
Worked fine for one day then phone froze this morning. Did a battery pull and on reboot stayed on the Samsung logo. Rebooted many times but still stuck at the same point. Reflashed the Rom through ODIN again but still stuck at Samsung logo.
I can access download mode, but not any kind of recovery.
From reading on here, I think the NAND(?) may be corrupted, but not sure, leading to the soft brick. Can anyone advise what I need to flash to get the phone up and running again?
Any help appreciated.
Mario.

Try flashing a kernel like siyah or Dorimanx in download mood. Then reboot into recovery and flash a JB custom rom
That did it. Thanks.
