I searched and didn't see anything specific to this: I got a Platinum leather flip case with a window. Is there some way to "activate" it? Or should it automatically work? Because it doesn't. Now, I know Kit Kat has some issues in that department, and I am on the latest firmware.

Last I heard the Note 3 on kitkat, Samsung had blocked 3rd party accessories like flip cases. I believe there is a work around somewhere if you do some searching.

apparently your rock Platinum leather flip case does not support s-view feature, you have 3 options.
1 use the sensors and app to have limited use of the s view sleep feature only.
2 just attach a s view ic to the note 3 connectors, and you should get the feature.
3 use a nillkin qi/s view receiver for both qi wireless charging and s view windows feature.
I need to look up option 3. This might give me the ability to get rid of the bump on my Seidio sview case. Thanks!

My point exactly it looks legit and if that is the design I hope and pray that it is like that to keep dust from under screen like the note 2 case was horrible for doing. I just bought two note 3 phones as well as I still have two note 2 phones.

Found the PERFECT Belt Holder NOTE3
After checking out all the stores.... I could not find a vertical Belt Holder for the NOTE3...until, I found a professional seamstress. She made this modification from a store bought holder! My local Best Buy an Best Buy Mobile in the mall still don't have this case. A stand in the mall which sells cases, name brand an generic, has a generic flip cover window case for only $20. I tried it and my phone did nothing with the front of the flip cover over my screen, so I didn't buy it. Then i walked to all of the carrier stands in the mall, and T-Mo was the only one that had the official Samsung on stock but they only had 1 an it was black (my GN3 is white). I put it on my phone anyway just to check it out, an again my phone did nothing with the front over my screen. I assumed there had to be a setting for the case to work properly, but couldn't find anything in the Settings. Any help would be appreciated! My Nexus 7 FHD didn't have any setting that needed to be changed for a smart cover to work on it, but I'm hoping that the GN3 does an it isn't just that my phone isn't working properly because I don't have ANY other issues with mine! Not the sound issue so many others have or anything!

There are no settings that I know of.
The official cases come with a back that must be replaced also. The switch that tells the phone whether the screen is open or not connects to terminals inside the back cover.
The knock off cases sometimes don't have this so beware.

I'd like to pick up a Samsung official flip wallet for my Note 3. I can't find anywhere to buy it. One site lists it in all colors but says ships in 1-2 weeks. It surprised me that the S-view cover can be found all over my city but the flip wallet is nowhere to be found.
Try an AT&T store. They are available for $65.

Is it true that you can't use your credit card with the flip case? I heard the magnetic strip isn't good for the phone (or credit card).
Are there any other flip cases that have more than one pocket for multiple cards? That would be really awesome if there were

If you don't want the S-view functions at all, you could remove the IC chip from case.

An excellent point although some folks have received a free case when they purchased their phones. Either way, he can still head over to ebay and get one if he doesn't want to screw up the OEM case.

Knock off feels like a knockoff. But I have one in the mail so I will do a side by side. But you get what you pay for. I like the wake function but don't use most of the apps on the s view. I think it's crazy nobody knows how to turn it off. As much as we mod this should have been hacked a long time ago. This case just obviously isn't very popular with the people who do the modding. I will add info later to this post when i do a side by side. Hopefully it will be useful to someone.

Or maybe it IS popular. I suspect the reason why no devs have wanted to disable the S-View functions is because that's the entire reason that bought it to begin with.

Doubt that. I have the knockoff with the window and it's perfect with stock lockscreen and the lockscreen music far more usable than the sview cover software. There has to be another reason that's being overlooked.

Lol, so the metal connectors in the case is actually just a simple piece taped to the case so I just peeled it off and at least I get music controls now. But the sview software has different touch sensitivity than the rest of the software so the screen is unable to be used while the cover is closed when not using the sview software.

You could turn the extra sensitive mode on for the touchscreen somewhere in the settings. It's called glove mode or something.
isn't the music control part of the s view software using the window, if you somehow disable the s view feature, the music function will also be disable, if you must disable, have you tried going into.
settings/more/application manager/all, and try to mess around the software to disable the feature if it's available, becareful not to disable the wrong features or some phone feature might not work.
Try sticking some tape over the metal connectors on the cover

Hello,
I'm having trouble finding a flip case that isn't so stiff it won't fold properly. I'm looking for something with a loose hinge and preferably that doesn't stick out past the edge of the phone.
I liked my nexus 10 flip case so much I decided to get one for my Note 3... Turns out the official +"non" S-View one is stiff as can be. You can hold the phone out flat with the cover open and it's almost parallel with the phone.
It looks like there was an older version of the official S-View case that might have been this way. However, it doesn't look like this is available anymore.
This is the sort of case I'm looking for.
Any help would be great. Thanks.
