Development question - HTC One Max

I've been using the deodexed rom for over a week now with flawless results...I see the Kernel source is now available for download and the 4.4 upgrade will be rolled out any day as well....Will the 4.3 kernel source be useful or will development be delayed until 4.4 is available?

I think devs would prefer to hit 4.4 directly and wait for the rom too

GPe rom?

Does any one know if someone is working on porting one to our phone?

I doubt it at the current time, maybe sometime on the future but it is still to new to be expecting one. If you want AOSP, which is what the Play Edition phones are, just flash an AOSP ROM, if you don't like the mods then don't use them.

Android 4.4 Rom?

I was wondering whether any developers are considering making a 4.4 KitKat based rom for our device, or can this not be done?

Kitkat is just released, give the devs some time. We probably first have to wait for CM 11/10.4
Ok dude, its just ive seen custom roms already made for other devices on youtube already and they look cool

Those are not bugfree and the only port we can do is a CM one
Oh ok

And mods, please close this thread as we already got one in General Section discussing KitKat. Please continue there.

Quick question but why bother about asking for 4.4 rom shouldnt we be focused on a stable cm rom first ? So others can be ported that people want and also making future cms eaisier ?

4.4 rom?

Is anyone working on or have a stable or fairly stable kit Kat 4.4 rom available?

They are all working on them. If they were ready for use they'd be posted.
Hopefully we'll see one soon. I'm itching for it

Does the actual stock ROM/update specifically for the CDMA or GSM S4 need to be released or leaked first or can custom ROMs be made for these devices before-hand?
They have it working on my Verizon Gnex, so I imagine it shouldn't be TOO hard. But there's always stupid little issues, like what 4.3 ran in to. I'm excited for it, works great on my Gnex. Cool features too

The touchwiz 4.4 does not have to be out first for an aosp based Rom for the s4. It would have to be out if you wanted a touchwiz based 4.4

Heads up, CyanogenMod just released their cm11 manifest. So builds should start popping up pretty soon

4.4 gummy
Just a heads up Team Gummy has a 4.4 rom they have been working hard on. The only Issue I have that keeps me from using this as my daily driver is there us know option when you set an account up to sync google calendars. I use that for work every day so for me it is not quite ready yet.

Porting 4.4 from HTC One?

I was looking through the Verizon one threads, and I noticed that flyhalf has built a 4.4 ROM for them. Would that be fairly easy for a developer to port that to our device?

There's not really any point in "porting," since we can just build from the source using our device tree. If you look in the ROM request index that you'll see that a few people have been working on it. I don't think it's a huge priority though, because more stuff is probably going to be broken, and 4.4 Roms are pretty close to stock aosp for now. Once CM11 is ready we will probably start seeing some kit Kat builds.

They've actually been working a few problems already, there at least 10 issues/merges in the cm11 repository for the dlx alone
