Download Odin. http://www.android.gs/download-odin-3-07/
Find the original firmware for your device and download to your PC. (I can't help you with this)
Turn your phone off.
Boot into download mode on your phone (volume down + power button; hold for about 3 seconds whilst it boots).
Plug your phone into your PC via USB. Wait for the ID:COM message to show in Odin.
Follow the instructions here to flash the firmware onto your device: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/help/guide-odin-flash-guide-t1671969
Reboot.
You WILL lose any data you have that isn't on an external SD card. That is the only data which will be safe.

Hello,
I upgraded my Captivate to 2.3.4 samsung leaked stock ROM with any issue using ODIN 1.82, after that I tried to rooted it again because I lost it, so I followed this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1010141 I flashed the FubuRoot kernel "fine" using ODIN, at least ODIN said PASS, I kept the usb cable plugged to avoid boot loop as the post said but the phone got stock at AT&T world phone screen, so I removed battery, sdcard and SIM and tried to get into Download mode but all that the phone does is boot loop to AT&T world phone screen... please I need help to get into download mode again...
Thanks
Solution:
1. Pull the battery
2. Press volume up/down (right in the middle)
3. Plug the USB cable (connected to the PC)
4. Insert the battery
(this will get you into the download mode, from here I flashed 2.3.4 stock kernel again)
Hello there,
I was trying to flash Rj's Custom Kernel to my Glaaxy Player 5 which I had just rooted using SuperOneClick.
I went into download mode (Power+Volume-down+Back button) on my phone, opened up Odin and selected the tar file I downloaded as a PDA, Only Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time were checked, nothing else was changed.
Clicked Start and the process appeared to go Successfully in Odin, when the phone was reset the Samsung Logo appeared for longer than usual, and my computer (which was still connected via USB) complained that the USB device was not recognised, then eventually the phone rebooted to the Samsung Logo and the process repeats itself ad infinitum.
The only thing I can do is get the phone back into Download Mode, and flash another rom, but I don't know what to try, can anyone please help me get my phone back to working order?
Cheers,
Blaiz0r.

Does your player have a mechanical home button because if it has a home button that is a light capacative and also if its capacitive you need entropeys kernel search on google
Hi. I'm new to here so please i appreciate any help you can give .
So the story is... I own a samsung galaxy gio S5660 (i have Android 2.2.1 ) and i wanted to flash a custom rom on it. Well i forgot that i had to root it, so i just flashed the CWM recovery on it and now i cant get into the recovery, the samsung logo just stays. The phone works, it boots up but only not in the recovery mode :s. Also, i cant root from the pc either because i get unknown device, i installed kies, reinstalled the drivers... I get the error : Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43). It charges via usb but doesnt connect as storage or something like that :/ i cant figure out what to do. The root programs dont recognize/find the device so am i screwed or what :s. I know i was stupid that i didnt think about the root. I've done the rooting on a tablet many times so i dont know why i forgot to do it :s
Thank you for reading. Hope i get an answer
BUMP BUMP-
I did a factory reset with the code from the phone and now its stuck on the samsung logo :s. It enters download mode and fastboot but the most important problem is that the pc doesnt recognize the device so i cant use odin or any similar program to flash a new recovery on it :s. Is there anything i could do?
I tried reinstalling the drivers multiple times.
I tried on 2 laptops and 1 desktop but it's all the same :S.
BUMP.
Help please
BUMP T_T
jaja
Prepare ODIN with the firmware you want to flash (in my case was Gingerbread 2.3.4) and get it ready to go.
-
Remove battery, wait for a bit. Insert battery again.
-
Flash a recovery with your specific filesystem (EXT4 or RFS)-(If you have EXT4, download ext4 only, don't get ext4+rfs)
-
Enter recovery & Wipe | Format:
System
Data
Cache
Dalvik Cache
Have ODIN ready. Connect phone to PC.
-
Reboot to Download Mode
Hold Volume down + Power + Home button at the same time.
-
At this point Odin should have detected your Galaxy Gio (Yellow rectangle should appear).
-
Insert the Stock Rom or Custom Rom.
-
Click Start button in Odin and wait about 5 min.
-
Reboot and wait
Method 2: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1153310
Method 3: using usb jig: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=METM3teG5rI
It's not my fault if you hard brick your phone using this methods.
Thanks for answering, but i cant enter recovery as i mentioned early and also odin doesnt detect my phone in download mode :s. When the samsung logo just stays i plug also the usb in then the pc says it cannot recognize the device and its listed as unknown which i before also mentioned. When i attempt to enter recovery it just also stays at the samsung logo and isnt entering it :s..

Stuck into booting into CWM every time after factory reset (Samsung Galaxy GT-I8262)
Peace!
Don't worry, dude! I had the same problem with my Galaxy Core I8262 when I factory-reset it from the Settings menu. I had the ClockworkMod Recovery installed already. It was stuck into booting CWM every time. Odin was unable to detect it either. So, here's how I managed it.
1. Restart Windows. And if it's stuck at the shutdown menu too, then force-shutdown it (by pressing the power button or turning off the power supply) and then start if manually.
2. After booting into Windows, reinstall Samsung drivers by completely uninstalling them first.
3. After successful installation, restart Windows once again.
4. Run Odin and connect your Android in Download Mode (Volume down + Home + Power). This time Odin must detect it, trust me!
5. Flash the CWM Recovery again via Odin (using the recovery.tar file).
6. Now you'll be able to boot into CWM as well as the ROM. But if you see your Android not going beyond the Samsung model logo then you'll need to download an official firmware file for your Galaxy Core and flash it via Odin.
I also used the 'format /system' option in CWM which might have wiped my system files. Let me know if the above procedure helps you.
