Hi,
I'm trying to extend my battery life. I read fast dormancy can extend my battery life significantly, but it depends on my device and mobile network provider.
Should i remove it? any one has tried it and can give me some feedback?
Thanks!

Now that the wifi tethering has been fixed in CM10 ROM (which was the only thing that was concerning me from switching over to CM10.)
But how is the battery life of CM10 in comparison to CM9? Can I use it as my daily driver or will I need to charge my phone frequently?
Thanks.
hello,
iam switching between samsung rom and aosp roms lately and the battery life keeps me wondering.
using a custom kernel and slimbean (ie.) the battery life rly improved compared to a few months now, but WIFI takes still more battery compared to samsung roms.
is that normal? any advises for that? ive exactly the same apps and 0 wakelocks cause of other apps (everything tweaked rly).
but still WIFI takes 1,5%/h on an aosp rom.
any experiences on that?
what are ur results?
I'm on CM 10.1 and the wifi consumes more battery for me either. but I'm not much bothered about it 'cause i charge the battery whenever needed.

Hi xda forum users...
I recently got cyanogenmod9 for my phone and the battery life is terrible.
Samsung galaxy gio
Moderate texting
Wifi on but turns off during sleep
No calls
No games
I really like cm9 but I also like battery life being longer

Ok I dont use ur phone so i am not sure if what i say might be accurate. From what i can see, ur phone was only supported my Samsung till android 2.3. Which probably means that your phone doesnt have a proper kernel for android 4.0.4 on which cm9 is based on. So probably the kernel being used isnt fully stable, hence ur battery life is terrible, I would suggest u stick to a gingerbread (android 2.3) ROM with a stable kernel to enjoy good battery life. It could also be that ur battery might actually be spoilt. Is there any slight bloating on ur battery?

The kernel which was compiled for the your phone might not be fully stable yet causing the battery drain. If there is a new version of that rom try updating to that and see if that fixes the problem.

I would like to know whether CM still save more battery in Dual Sim enable vs Miui one sim enable and another sim disable. Miui could deactivate one sim in Dual Sim mode whereby CM dont have the toggle to disable one sim card.

Bloatwares
MIUI comes with apps intended to improve system performance and UX but ends up draining battery by adding tons of warlocks and background devices.
And guess what, if you remove those bloatware, there is a high chance your device won't boot.
Another reason is , on cm based Roms, highest battery consumption is screen , phone idle only like 1 percent with single sim , so I guess with dual sim only adds 2 percent to battery drain. Meanwhile on MIUI the MIUI system itself drains so much battery .

Thank you for the explanation :good:
For those who have fast dormancy related problems that show up often as huge inexplicable battery drain when using cellular data network (2g, 3g and 4g), it would be very useful to be able to disable fast dormancy!
Now I am asking if anyone of xda knows how to disable fast dormancy in the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro, since the only tutorial that I know is for Xperia devices and it does not apply to Xiaomi devices.
I have already did a lot of searches on google, but since it really depends on the type of smartphone, I can't really tell what would work out of a lot of guides.
Help is needed here! Thanks in advance!
