I really hope they have a t-Mobile variant right off the bat!
I hope it has more power and a lot more memory. 1.5gb memory blows!
Same size is fine. Maybe a lil less bezel and better back cover.
A handful more features would be nice too.
End of year though
Kit Kat should help with speed boost until then. Hurry MetroPCS!

What would really be nice is if Samsung would stop giving us here in the U.S. the crap processors in the Galaxy S, Note and Mega series phones.
when you look at the frame of the current 6.3 Mega you see theres a lit of bezel..
Im hoping on 6.5"-6.6" 1080p screen on the same frame with hopefully 3GB of RAM...
otherwise they say 6 core Exynos processor in those rummors, i dont think it mayters that much at this point.. im doing absolutely fine with the dual core on the current model..
Getting 7+hrs and a whole day of standby on mine, so if they throw in 200-300 extra mAh on top of the battery would ve awesome... if they round it up to 4,000mAh even better...
Nothing more to ask than that... and yes, if possibly availiable in T-Mobile directly... that be great, need those updates, radio and kernel updates make phone signal download speeds and lag improvements most of the time.. forget about the OS.. as long is 4.4 doesnt matter.
And mybe.. just mybe a Play Store Edition? woud grab one..

I like the current size of the phone. I wouldn't mind an increase in screen size but if they keep the phone same size or keep same screen size and make phone lil smaller. Either or for me is great.
Memory kills this thing. Minimum 2 - 2.5gb. 3gb would be great and make it into a multi task monster.
1080p would be awesome too.
A dual core is ok but needs to be much stronger than what is one now. Especially if higher reso.
I need lte so had to be Qualcomm chip.
Definitely more ram, more processor, and 6.7 display size or less bezels, but I'm sure I'll be buying the next Mega.

Speaker placement! Ugh, how I hate it. I like the speaker placement on the nOte 3.
I am not impressed with the voice recognition on this device either. I will play around with it to see which is better... I am using swype and installed an xposed app to force google voice recognition. Hope it works
Highly disappointed if this is it...
1.5gb?!
Same camera?
Less storage?!
Count me out.
That One Plus One phone is looking a lot better now, if it's durable.
Depending on what the Note 4 brings.
Maybe I'll just stock with this Mega.

I hope this is just something for overseas. From the first links it seemed as if it was a decent upgrade from the current Mega. The current MEga has 1.5Gb of memory. With the MegaFire Rom 1.5 is very useable. However, with all the bloat from samsung and carriers makes it unusable. At the very least have 2GB
Camera is currently the same. It is not great to begin with and not even some sort of upgrade!??!?!? Need a bump in quality.
Storage is currently at 16GB. Why do I want less?!?!?!?
I'd rather they stay at 6.3 and upgrade everything else if that is the case. I can accept a larger screen with less bezel but not inferior components.

OMFG Finally! They listened! I'm so in if it's 7in!
I'm happy with the specs on the Mega 6.3, but the Mega 2 doesn't look appealing at all:
- 720P Display on a 7 inch screen? 720P on 6.3 was OK, but on a 7 inch screen it will be like using the 2010 Galaxy Tab. Unacceptable.
- Same camera as before
- likely same RAM as before too.
Even the Huawei Mediapad X1 has a 1920x1200 display on its 7 inch panel (yes, it's a phone).
Plus, here in North America we got the Mega i527 model which can't be rooted. The same will probably be true of its successor.
Even though I like the Mega 6.3, my next phone will probably be the HTC M8 or OnePlusOne.

Looks like something similar to Mega 2 is already released. Look at this pic. It says that new phone will have 7in display, 1280 x 720 (210 ppi) and 1,2 GHz Snapdragon 400 Cortex-A7. It's Samsung Galaxy W. Is that new Mega 2???

Lol 5.8 inches? Now that's an odd size for the screen. It's like they are trying to make it a Galaxy Note Successor. They should really keep it in the mp3 player range since the new iPod touch is on the way and this would make a great competitor to it. Also I don't know why they decide to make it 5.8 inches the PPI is going be only 189 (Same as the GP 5.0 now) 1280 X 720 (PPI of 253) or 1024 * 768 (PPI of 221 same as GP 4.2 although the problem with this res is it isn't in 16:9 -___-) If they made it 4-5in they can keep that resolution and it would still look great.
Great, finally some specs, I have been waiting for more info about this upcoming device.. but 5.8” screen?? WTF? Isn’t it a bit too large? Isn’t it getting a bit too far into unpocketable tablet range? I mean GP 5.0 was just pocketable, but an almost 6” device in my mind would defeat the purpose of a media device you could carry with you in you jeans and getting too close to the 7” range of tablets. Nonetheless, I hope Samsung hasn’t forgotten about bt handsfree profile this time (the way they did with GP 5.0) and implemented it in the new player. IF the price is right, I will get it. I also think that in order to compete with the new iPod that Apple will be announcing soon (if the gossips are right) which might have an 640 x 1136 (that’s a weird resolution) screen, Samsung should have gone with a higher res screen, though lower res screens are easier on battery. BTW, do you guys think the new 2-core processor would consume the battery much quicker? One of the things I really liked about the GP 5.0 was its battery life.
Ouch a 5.8 inch screen is pretty darn big for a PMP. Is there any chance the actual size is 4.8 inches (same size as S III)? Also the res is exactly 16:9, just worked it out now. The player 5 is slightly off 16:9 so it might make watching movies a bit easier

Higher resolution screen would cost much more and drain more battery..i dont have a problem with

Actually the tablet screen is either 1280 X 800 or 1280 X 720 lol. Sure the GP 5.0 does have a sharper display, with a PPI of 187 PPI, compared to a 10.1 in tablet with a res of 1280 X 720 145 PPI or 1280 X800 with a PPI of 149 you have to realize that you hold tablets much further from your face.
I think Samsung over did t with the screen size lol if they want to compete in the MP3 world they need to make it competitive with the iPod touch.
I don't think it will be 5.8, it would be damn too huge. I'd say between 4.5'' and 5.0'' and I hope they sell this cheap, because if it's higher than $200, it's better to buy a nexus 7 LOL.
its an odd size but i definitely looks worthy of my money

5.8 is just too big
Some people say it's only 4.8"
Knowing Samsung it may well be 5.8 inch. They have 3.6 (player and galaxy ace?) inch devices, 4 inch (player, sgs1), 4.2 inch (player), 4.3 inch (s2?), 4.65 inch (GNex), 4.8 inch (s3), 5 inch (player), 5.3 inch, (note), 5.5 inch (note 2?), 7 inch and 10.1 inch (tabs). All they are missing is ~6 inches so they might see it as a way of plugging a niche market.

I don't know weather to get the 4.2 or 5. I want the 5 but its way too big
personal preference . i like the 5.0.
4.2 has omap processor while the 5.0 has exynos, which is slightly better even at the same clock rate. 4.2 has 2mp camera while the 5.0 has 3.2 or 5 in korean version. 5.0 has much better devving and rom choice and it also does fit in your pocket!

5.0has flash wich can also be a flashlight and yes has more to offer for devving.big screen easy to watch movies.specs are out there
The only thing 4.2 has over 5.0 is the blutooth handsfree profile, it can be used as a bt hf with tablets and phones, which means if you are listening to your music and your phone rings, you can answer the call through 4.2, this can be very convenient, however this feature doesn't work with all phones. Oh, you can call people to, it can dial numbers which are in your contacts. If you don't care about this, then it's a no brainer - 5.0 all the way - bigger battery, bigger screen, better for serfing inet...

I take it with me everywhere, never annoying imho if you get used to the bulk, its easy to run around with it in your pocket. its a little hard to take it out of your pocket while sitting down because it gets caught. But it never fell out because of its size so its good if you go on a plane. If comfort and portability has higher priority than screen size, cm9 and custom roms then I guess 4.2 can serve better.

I have no experience with the 4.2 but I have the 5.0 and absolutely love it. I had an iPod before and it was certainly a shock to see how much bigger the 5.0 was but it only took me a day to get over it because that 5 inch screen more than makes up for it. I can't imagine how I used to look at a tiny 3.5 inch screen and didn't think it was too small. It fits in all of my jeans and jacket pockets without being overly bulky.

I know you are asking opinion on the 5.0 and the 4.2, but if you worry about the size but you still want the better performance and developpement on your device you can get the 4.0. It is exactly the same as the 5.0 but smaller. So you get the same performance and there is more developpement going than for the 4.2. Again this is just my opinion but I personnaly prefer the 4.0.

I'd say get the 5.0. Its easy to get used to the large size and its still a very capable device. There's a lot of development for it and its pretty good for watching movies and playing games. I'm not sure about pricing where you live, but in the UK the nexus 7 and 5.0 are nearly the same price so you might want to consider the nexus 7, but for a smaller device, the 5.0 is great

If music playing is your thing, then I would recommend the 4.0 or 4.2 as those have the wolfson dacs. The 5.0 is yamaha. I believe the wolfson dac yields higher quality audio than the yamaha. YMMV
Do not forget the battery!
I own the 5.0 and it has a 2500 mAh Battery, 4.2 has 1500 mAh and 4.0 has 1200 mAh.
This is a big advantage for the 5.0 which can last longer.

Ok so I know I said that the 5.0 is a better option, but Amazon (at least Amazon UK) will start selling the 4.2 for only £70 (~$112) from 8:45pm GMT. Considering the RRP is something like £150, this is a really good deal so it might be better to get the 4.2 if you just want a cheap portable media player

I don't know the prices in your countries but here in Italy the 5.0 has a nice one: I bought it 3 months ago for €139 (~£112) but now I can find it for €129 (~£104) and i think is gonna be even more cheaper by year end.
Even if i could find the 4.2 for ~90€ I still would choose the 5.0.
Okay, I had assumed the 6.3 rumors were a massive joke,
But now the 'galaxy mega' is official and it has a 6.3 inch screen!
Good lord.
Size comparison:
Note 2: 151.1 mm x 80.5 mm x 9.44 mm.
Mega 5.8: 162.6 x 82.4 mm x 9 mm
Mega 6.3 : 167.6 mm x 88 mm x 8.0 mm
My initial thoughts:
STOP making phones thinner! Phones are stupid thin. I want my battery life!
After adding the Seido Active case, I am starting to find the Note 2 a bit unwieldly.
I have to mess around with it a bit to get to fit in my pockets. (and it does, but it's an indicator that I'm hitting my limit)
The idea of a phone that is 16mm longer is a turn off for me and probably a deal breaker.
If the screen is unbreakable and I can dump my case, that will help a bit, but in the end
my phone MUST fit in my pants pockets or it's a deal breaker.
But one weird thing, why are the megas so much longer than the note 2? They seem almost 8 mm too 'long'.
Does that mean the note 3, 6.3" would be 160mm long? That might be doable.
Time for another cardboard mockup test.
Wait, it's dual core, not quad (Yeah A15 I know)? Surprising. And yeah, too large for my liking, love my Note II and looks like I'll be sticking with it for a looong time
Don't forget that Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy Mega is not just a phone... This is PDA in my view. Calling feature is just a bonus.
Galaxy mega looks to me a bad, material wasted strategy from samsung, 5.5 size was enough, 6.3 doesnt provide any justification for kewping it as a phone.

Personally, I don't see the point of both the 6.3" and the 5.8", but their must be a specific strategy here.
My theory is that these two devices are essentially testing the water for a larger screened Note 3.

Dave

No way the note 3 will be bigger than 6.3 inches. I just think that these are for folks in small markets that can't afford the high end notes or Galaxy s phones. These 2 phones are mid tier, more affordable and still offer all the touchwiz features including air view, air gestures and all that.

I don't mean that the Note 3 will be bigger than thesw devices - just that Samsung is testing the market to see how big they can go, but doing so in a fashion that won't dilute the Note brand.

He guys...
Before i had the N7100 I had the GTP6800 tab 7.7 this Tab had everything that i needed, tab and phone in one. Business and private combined... Loved it, but just too big to carry along for daily use. I do miss the 160 dpi tablet interface and screen layout. I now use the N7100 with 280 dpi and some app with 240 dpi for convenience. .
MyPoint
I think that the 6.3 inch Mega would be a good alternative for business and private use that is just big enough to carry around. There is a market for this for sure.. Samsung isnt stupid.. the evolve / adapt to the needs of the consumer. Think about the flex screens that they are working on. Just to get a 6.3 inch to be a new standard, they are making a beginning. the 6.3 is all strategy and adapting to the future imho.
Anyway...hope to get my hands on the Mega soon =)

I don't think so dude, I understand Samsung is testing the water to see what people think about it, but anything bigger than 6.3 inches would without a doubt be in tablet territory and 6.3 inch is already a stretch. Think about it for a second, the 6.3 inch mega is almost a full inch bigger than the note 2..... I just don't see it being the new standard. But I do think some ppl would love it. I love bigger phone but 6.3 inches I would not do.
The note 2 is at about the limit for me so far as size goes. It fits into my pocket but only just.

Hehe they just keep pushing the boundary. And why not, we keep following it.
Thought the original iPhone was too big at the time - got one - got used to it.
Thought the One X (or S2) was too big - got one, got used to it.
Thought the Note II was ridiculously big - got one, got used to it.
However the line must be somewhere??
I think for me the line is absolutely with the Note II. This is just of the size that it fits and can be semi comfortably used with one hand. Any bigger is just too much (though I said that about the One X, so I can see where they're coming from, but I think I mean it this time).
What strikes me as odd is that the spec is so backwards. Dual core? 1.5GB? And no pen. It's like they're aiming purely for the "phone as an equivalent of a wang size contest" market and I'm not sure that'll work as the Note II has other things going for it like high end spec, S-Pen, super battery etc.

I remember when i had my mytouch 4G, after a while i was thinking : I'm quite happy with this phone - i just wish the screen was bigger. The note is meant for those people, I think. I bet the mid range large screen market is pretty decent.

That's actually an A15 dual core. Probably better then the A9 Quad Core on Note 2.
And the Mali T-604 GPU on that thing will run circles around our Note2. It's used to power 2560x1600 Nexus 10 tablet. At 720x1280 it might be the fastest device yet!
In fact, the 1.5GB and inferior screen are the only things that differentiate it from the top offerings (S/Note lines). It will be a powerhouse anyway.
No S-Pen is obvious, it's not of the Note pedigree.
But if priced correctly, this can be a ridiculously good offering... well... for people with oversized hands, anyway.
But still.. how come samsung just didnt save those screen sizes for future Note's line up :/

The places where I keep my phone/smartphone have ALWAYS been the same, they don't grow nor shrink: fanny pack, jeans back pocket, jacket pocket.
So, the ideal smartphones dimensions DO NOT CHANGE with time. They don't for me and they don't for anybody else.
People marvelled at the first 4"/4.3" displays and many started to scream "it's too big!!" (especially Apple following morons). Then, most people got accustomed to them, "understood" them and started to like them (and buy them in droves).
I was just waiting... (and enjoying my Galaxy S, SII, Note and Note II in the meantime)
With today's tech's state of the art (RE weight, thinness, bezel etc) a 6.3"/6.5" is just PERFECT for me. It's the screen size I have ALWAYS wanted.
Any bigger and it wouldn't fit where I have always kept my smartphones (and phones before them), any smaller and I am "wasting space" and loosing out on what I could easily carry around, enjoy and take full advantage of.
When a smartphone doesn't fit where I carry it well, then I call it a tablet..
I will be pretty pissed if the Note III will have a 5.9" display (which will likely have) when the Mega has a 6.3" one.
I would instantly get a Note III even if it didn't have ANY improvement or spec bump over the Note II BUT a bigger display but at the same time I won't downgrade to a slower CPU and, above all, less RAM (not to mention loosing the S-Pen which I don't use all that often but I do appreciate the times I use it). So that's why I can't get the 6.3" Mega.
I am really disappointed to read some of the things written here on the NOTE II forum, a lot of it is just the garbage usually spouted off by the ignorant average user (especially Apple users, Apple is the one company whose HW and SW philosophy I hate the guts of).
In short: bring it on Samsung! We POWERUSERS who actually NEED and USE the full gamut of capabilities of today's smartphones instead of "wearing" them like fashion accessories (**** useless garbage like iPhones, HTC One, Lumia 920 and the rest of their ilk), appreciate big screens, removable batteries, top specs, lots of memory space, the most complete set of HW features, the most powerful mobile OS with tons of added SW features AND PLASTIC/POLYCARBONATE build over ****ing metal bodies, are calling for it!!

The rumored specs were worth it, but the actual specs... Not so much

This is going to get closed... there's a thread for other devices. Anyway, before that happens, they were the expected upgrades. 5.7" 1080p display, Snapdragon 800, 13MP camera. I like the Note series, I will upgrade to it once development is active.

Expect it to be locked down like the S4 on Verizon. Specs are kind of meh when considering there hasn't been lag in phones for probably about a year now.

Yupp, but I'm always for a better screen and slimmer phone. I'm just hoping Hashcode's safestrap method for the S4 can be quickly implemented on the N3, plus if he gets kexec support working then we don't even really need an unlocked bootloader.
I expect the Verizon version to be rooted not long after the phone is released. Unlocking or jail breaking might take much longer.

Yeah, rooting is never a problem obviously. It's looking like we'll be going the S4/Moto route, no unlocking. Just safestrap/kexec.
That seems likely but maybe we will be surprised.
I won't be upgrading.
The human eye can only see so much so I think 1080P on a phone is pointless.
Running top and sar on the command line has yet to show me that I need more processing power.
More mega pixels on a camera mean nothing.
If I was still using my Galaxy Nexus I would get the Note 3, but it seems to me the only real upgrade is a few nice software features that may or not come down to the Note 2.
I can wait for the Note 4.
I will certainly upgrade... Unless that vision of the new nexus turns into a real life unicorn.

Our phone will get 4.3 sometime this year, well at least an international build but it's the same thing really.
3GB of RAM is pointless when our phone barely use a gig maybe a gig and a half.
Extra storage would be nice but with an SD card my note 2 currently has 80GB of storage so....
Can you seriously see pixels on your note 2? If you can then by all means, but if you can't then you won't notice anything different with the screen.
Again, why do you want a faster phone that will just eat battery quicker? Do you actually see lag on the note 2?
MPs mean nothing. Unless you own a 4K TV which in that case you have more than enough money to upgrade.
New battery is only 100mAh bigger than the current but you won't notice as the screen/CPU will eat up more battery.
I know your drawing at straws when you use the lines to describe the same thing, which isn't even true since it's the same size as the note 2 with a thinner bezel. Oh, and the last thing I want is my device to be lighter this thing already feels cheap enough.
Had an IR blaster on my tablet before. Absolutely never used it. More of a gimmick than anything.
S pen is basically the same, with small improvements which won't matter since 99% of us won't use it anyways.
I know I seem like an ass but someone needs to play devils advocate when everyone else out there is spewing about how amazing this device will be without comparing the specs to current phones. Its a note 2 with minimal upgrades, I personally expected more.

I never said it wasn't an upgrade but we are no longer talking going from single or dual core to quad core, or from 512 MB of RAM to 2 GB.
And 1 mm thinnger and 12g lighter is nothing you are going to notice. If you want to purchase it go right ahead, but I don't feel any of this is worth a $700 upgrade.
I would love to hear your criticism, if you would rather withhold it, then so be it.
I have read the reviews, they are all saying what I listed, it's a new phone with new specs, nothing spectacular. Actually, most of it is just about the software, which we will get in an software upgrade. Again, please point out my flaws, I didn't come here to talk to myself.
I wonder what software ported from the N3 will make it to the N2 given Verizon's glacially slow OTAs.
I have been thinking if I should take a serious look at the note 3. Any one here thinking of it as well?

Have both. Sheer screen size is biggest plus for Mega. It actually is a quite capable smartphone and an even better media consumption device.
For what I do, the note 3 can't be beat though. It has capabilities that mega lacks (spen). Fantastic screen (though size wasn't quite what I wanted). And is just a performance beast. (Though who out there will really utilize all that brawn).
Unless you need some functions that the note provides and the Mega lacks, I personally feel that you would not gain anything by changing. And, might be a little let down going to a smaller screen.

I have to agree, I'm happy with the Mega. Also I just got the Mega, and have to make a little sense and not switch so fast haha!
Additionally I've been checking out the forums for Note 3, and for now, don't look like the development is much more exciting, and I would really miss the big screen.
I guess it comes down a lot to functionality, because if you feel the S-Pen is a useful thing, then Note is best that's for sure. As Mad383Max said also, the power you get with the Note 3 (or any phone of that kind, like the ZUltra) is for now quite underused, so don't fall into it just for marketing words!
Plus the mega screen will have brighter whites then the anoled screen that the note 3 has..and the mega has great daytime viewing due to it's bright screen which is not the case with a anoled screen..maybe better viewing angles with a anoled screen..but the screen in the mega is not bad at angles either..but what ever makes people happy in what choice of phone they do decide on is great..but I am very attached to the mega.

Oh okay then samsung must have improved it on the note 3 which is good. :good:
i upgraded to note 3 which i sold and kept the Mega and i have a s4..........TW on the Mega is very bad and looks magnified rather than resized. i know trust me as i saw it soon as i turned it on for the first time. the screen is quite good on the Mega but mine sticks alot especially when using keyboard. i suffer frequent hangups with TW and I am aiding a friend to see if can make 4.3 a reality using the OmniRom route........... This device would absolutely fly with AOSP/CM based rom on it.
I am getting another note 3 but not sure if i will switch..............Mega is back in box till i decide as s4 is no slouch but i miss the bigger screen.
For those who has both note 3 and Mega, can you post a pic of batteries?
I was aimed at S3 and waited for it fom beginning of the year. In the mean time I 'stumbled' on Mega and now do not want another ..
Unless the mega gets AOSP like slimbean, I will be switching as soon as AOSP gets developed for the note 3. I'm mainly using my note 2 at the moment but missing the large screen of the mega.

But then, Note with AOSP isn't worth it's price, no?
I mean all the features that make it good disapear then, and it is basically a small Mega, without the benefits.
Maybe better to be patient with the Mega
No offence to touchwiz lovers but the "features" Samsung has developed are utter garbage and for novelty at best. Examples...
1. Floating cursor aka airview....whats the point? The touchscreen on the phone is meant to be touched!
2. S-apps....slow and can be replaced by various other apps in Google play
3. Multi window....Halo on AOSP is way better.
4. Big retarded icons like users are coke bottle glass wearing 80year olds by default and no way to change it unless you use a different launcher which renders the unique Samsung gimmicks useless.....this drives me nuts the most.
These are just a few gripes of how a hardware company that spends so much on R&D can get it so wrong on the software side. Samsung had the head of Cyanogenmod at their disposal for 2 years and swandered good talent.
This is why despite the awesome hardware Samsung makes, I wont buy it till I can get AOSP onto it. I'm thinking of getting the Ultra Z as a stop gap since Paranoid Android has been developed for it. Ultra Z = Fast specs, large screen, custom rom, waterproof.....why not?

Hey, you are preaching to a believer!
My message to you was because Mega to Note 3, don't you keep Sammy crap?
Touchwiz is acceptable on the Mega, and I use exactly zero features that come with it, but that's not the "only" selling point of the Mega, but it is for the Note family (with its S-Pen), so what would be the point with AOSP on Samsung hardware in that case.
Another thing that we have to understand, is that grass is always greener elsewhere. I used to have Nexus 4 before the Mega, and I can tell you that forum messages saying : "Hey, tired of AOSP blue and black, need MIUI, need TouchWiz/HTC port, etc."
So yeah, I went to Sammy for the big screen and battery life, and now have to put up with it's software as well, I guess that's life ^^
(Oh, and if I could afford it, I would get Ultra Z as well, haha!)
My point was whichever Sammy device get AOSP first (I'm hoping Mega but it's not popular enough). I'm addicted to Samsung phones since the first Galaxy S thus hesitant getting the Ultra Z. Even though Samsung has treated it's loyal users bad, like a battered spouse, I keep coming back for more abuse, hoping one day to be treated better.

Fair enough
It reminds me of the Nokia golden days, when it was a little the same : weither you liked it or not, the best you could get for money vs quality was Nokia, and that's it...
Love/hate relashionship ^^
Can I pick your brains, please guys?
I am torn as to which to buy: Note or Mega.
I, like you love the Mega, have played around with many a live display model in the shops and am blown away by the screen.
I have poor sight and appreciate the huge keypad when using it as a phone and also the large keypad when texting. I know I don't have to use the KP to text, I could talk too, but I find the speech recognition makes too many errors.
My dilemma is mainly this: I have been frightened away from the standard 8 GB Mega as the OS takes up almost half of this. As apps are not getting any smaller and (without rooting) apps cannot be stored on the SD card, the advice by the professional reviewers is to buy the 16GB version.
However, nearly all of the 16GB versions I have seen on Amazon and ebay are not. For some odd reason, when I check with the seller, they mysteriously claim something like "oh, sorry, mate, that's an error". Even where the 16GB claim appears in the listing more than once....
More than a bit naughty...
It seems the genuine 16GB listings have a much higher price, around £440. That's a huge premium to pay, when Amazon are selling the 8GB version for £280.
So, for those of us who don't want to get into rooting the phone, is 8GB enough? Should I buy 16GB?
What do you advise?
Thanks in advance.

I'd say 8 Gb is enough if you get a memory card to go along with it (I have a 32 Gb).
According to my experience with my 16 Gb Nexus 4, that was really feeling small quickly. Right now my Mega's internal 16 Gb are far from full although I have been piling up the crap in there (and also using a light ROM).
So If the price of a 32 or even 64 Gb memory card should still play in your favor, I think 8Gb internal is usable
