I installed NotiSync https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mattprecious.notisync on both my phone and TS, and then Notify Lite https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=apps.droidnotify and Notify Plus https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=apps.droidnotifyplus on the TS to unlock the screen and show a popup for the notifications received by NotiSync. It has been working great; I'm getting notified when someone is calling before my phone even starts ringing [emoji2] Also if I leave my phone behind and lose the BT connection, I get notified because NotiSync will get disconnected and Notify will alert me.

Just phone call notifications? No email or sums notifications? Sim card or no sim card in watch? Need to be specific please.

Thought the question was pretty specific... the topic is about receiving notifications of phone calls from your phone on your watch. And the question was "when the phone rings and you answer on your watch can you talk from the watch to the call thats on your phone when you answer it or do you need to go to where your phone is?"
Not that it matters to this particular question about notifications from the phone to the watch but yes i do have a sim card in the watch and its about phone calls not email or sms notifications.

Notisync is one-way communication. Notifications from phone show up on watch. There is no answering the call from the watch with that app. It's a good app, but if that's what you're looking for you want something else.
There is Tablet Talk which would let you do it but only works reliably with wireless because of the TS bluetooth. And to answer the question, no you cannot take the call through your TS with either. You either need to find the phone or be using a bluetooth headset which is paired to the phone.

I´m trying several apps to synchronize notifications between the phone and the Truesmart. Now, I´m using Notisync (as you) and Popup Notifications (paid version). But there is a thing I haven´t got yet, and it´s to show the message content in the popup window. I tryed Notify Me! too, but I didn´t get the message content neither (only the app and the sender).
Have you (or anyone) got the Truesmart to show the message content (Whatsapp, Telegram, email...) in the popup window?
NotiSync shows the content of my messages after I added it with a custom profile. But if you receive multiple messages from WhatsApp, then it wont show the content.

Notisync seems very particular about what notifications get passed on my setup, but it looks great otherwise. for the life of me I can't get notify me to pop up on any received notifications

Having a sim card in your watch or not makes a big difference. There's people like us who are not interested in adding a sim Cardin their smart watch and there's others who want to use a sim card in their smart watch as well. Also there's different ways for the smart watch to connect or operate which is why I'm asking as in HOW did you make it happen. That was all.
Thanks! This seems great. I mostly need call notifications, but adding a few others will be great. They seem to be pretty great applications as well.
The only issue I have is that I can't enable Notify+ in accessibility because the buttons are off the screen. How did you get around that? I will try a Bluetooth keyboard tomorrow to see if I can just hit enter or arrow over once or twice and enter...

I have uninstalled Popup Notifications and, as you, I have installed Notify Lite and Notify+. However, after lots of tests, I can´t receive the messages content in the popup window yet (only the App´s name, WhatsApp for example, and the sender´s name).
Please, nbarm2, could you share the config you use in Notisync and Notify to receive, for example, the WhatsApp notifications and the message content? I suppose the config for others aps would be similar.
Thanks.

I'm exhausted from all my attempts at figuring out these problems, so I'm hoping someone on XDA can help me figure out two issues I'm having with my GSII.
I have the South Korea version of the GSII and I'm using it in Hong Kong. I can receive SMS messages, but when I try to send an SMS reply it says failed. I checked the SMS message center number and it's correct for the carrier. Here's the odd thing, when I try to compose a new message or forward a message, I have the option to specify the senders number. If I manually type in my number and the receivers number, I can send the SMS without a problem. So I know it's not a frequency compatibility issue. I can't manually specify the numbers every single time as the SMS messages will take forever to compose. I switched the SIM card over from an older Android phone and that phone had no issues with sending SMS messages. In the about phone section of the settings, my number appears as unknown. I never had a problem with this in my old phone. I did try to edit my number on the SIM through a couple old phones, but it just wont save. If I switch SIM cards from different carriers, I'm always going to have this SMS sending issue. Are there any tricks or ways to fix this?
The other problem I have is with the dialer. Everytime I try to make a call, a roaming call option pops up that says, call Korea or call international number. I have to select call international number to dial out. Is there a way to stop this?
If I could fix these two issues my GSII would be perfect since everything else is awesome except the two basic functions, sms and calling, of a phone. This has driven me nuts for hours everyday trying to figure it out. Thanks!
Are you in South Korea? I remember reading somewhere that the Korean wireless companies have a totally different SMS/MMS protocol than the rest of the world. We've all been getting our phones from the UK because of this even though it launched in Korea first. Maybe someone online that's familiar with the Korean SGS2s differences can provide more detail.
I thought that might be the issue with the SMS/MMS system in South Korea, but if I specify the sender and receiver numbers the messages will go through without a problem and I can also receive without any problems.

I fixed the SMS problem using an iphone 3gs which takes the same size sim card as the GS II and saving my number to the sim card. This isn't really a good solution sinve Im not always going to have a 3gs handy when I travel and would like to use a local sim card. I still haven't figured out how to fix the Roaming Auto Dial window that pops up everytime I try to make a call. I can't figure out how to make the phone understand I'm not roaming.

Couple of weird things I've noticed lately. First off, I never use the standard messaging Android app, I use Handcent. I also installed Voice and got it configured. I have 2 main questions, both of which are text related. First off, ever since installing Voice, Voice also now keeps tracks of my text messages. Is there any way to stop this? I have it configured now so that I dont get notifications from Voice, but if I go into the app to check a VM I see all my texts, and that's annoying.
Also, before when I would used to get an MMS (picture, video, whatever), it would connect to 3G to download it, even if I was connect to Wi-Fi. My phone no longer does that. Now if I get an MMS, even something small like 50kb, it takes like almost a whole minuet to download it because I'm pretty sure it's downloaded over 1x (doesn't show the 3G symbol anymore). Anyone know how to change this? I may have changed a setting somewhere, but I can't remember, and this is driving me nuts.
I used the G-Voice app on the 4G but I decided not to install it on the 3D. Using the stock message app is alot easier and have no issues with MMS. I dont get visual voicemail which kinda sucks but I still like it better then opening an app just to get to my texts.
Unless you disabled 3g manually you can just turn your phone on airplane mode and then back off airplane mode, or restart the phone... That's strange though, I'm pretty sure my messages download on 3g and i get them in like 15 seconds...

Go to your Google account in your desktop or mobile browser and disable text messaging from your voice settings. And the whole 3G MMS thing is a known issue I've always had using handcent, especially on my 3D. I never use stock app but since its so reliable because of compatibility issues with the 3VO being so new, it would be wise to go stock until app developers update their apps to support our phones.

I was able to verify that something is in fact screwy with my networks. I like the fact that if I'm connected to WiFi my 3G is disabled since it helps conserve battery, but I dislike the fact that this also means that MMS messages are forced to use 1x instead of 3G. I disabled WiFi and tried sending a picture over MMS and it sent just fine over 3G, but as soon as I reconnect to a WiFi network it forces any MMS's to use 1x instead of 3G so they take FOREVER to send/receive. Anyone know if there's a way to change this? I remember on my original EVO running CM6 I never had this problem. 3G remained disabled if WiFi was connected, except it would kick on for MMS messages. Sigh.
you have to uninstall google voice then reinstall. this time when it asks if you want to integrate say no then choose to use just for voicemail on the next screen

Thanks for the help guys. I just spend the last hour trying to get this setup the way I wanted and in the end I decided to completely remove Voice and stick to Sprint's voicemail for now, lol. I'll go back to Voice when we have CM for the 3VO
Still trying to figure out my 3G/MMS problem though Can any of you try it on your phones? While connected to a home/office WiFi network try to send an MMS (picture or whatever) and tell me if 3G comes on to send the message, or if it takes forever to send it.
Further testing: the exact same thing happens if I'm connected to 4G! Damn this sucks! So it's like, if I'm connected to a faster network (Wi-Fi or 4G) then 3G refuses to come on no matter what I do. Makes sense if you want to optimize battery life, but shouldn't it come on if it needs to do something that REQUIRES 3G? Such as send an MMS? -_-
Sorry if this is an ignorant comment, but why would the phone need to switch to 3G or 1X if you're connected via 4G? That seems really wonky to me.

I think all CDMA networks are like this, but the reason it needs to switch is because SMS/MMS messages can't be sent through WiFi or 4G.

That's interesting because I actually don't have this problem. If I have 4G or WiFi enabled it still has Mobile network and checked and enabled.
So is it safe to assume that you have the same issue with this phone? Where your MMS messages take forever to send/receive if you're on WiFi or 4G? I swear it never did this when I first got it, but now I'm starting to question that too...

so i started comparing the GV in my phone with my wifes hero.. and when lookin at the version i realized that after i reinstalled all my apps on my phone i updated GV.. bad mistake.. i deleted that version and reinstalled my previous version and all has been well since..
if u want to go back to using GV without the issues, let me know and i can send u the version i have that will work the way u want..

Awesome, thanks for this!
Still going to keep trying to fix this MMS issue though since it's driving me CRAZY! I like the fact that 3G turns off when I'm on WiFi or 4G, but it should turn on briefly to send/receive MMS so I'm not stuck waiting forever while they send/receive over 1x. I'm going to delete Handcent just in case it's what's screwing everything up, but somehow I doubt it.
Anyone have success configuring google voice using the google voice app? When i login into google voice app and then say configure the app force closes.
I also don't see Voicemail settings under settings so that i can change my voicemail number from att to google voice.
Any ideas?

I am having the same problem...
The settings are located under the dialer and I was able to set GV as my voicemail.
Inbound calls work fine.
Outbound....
This has been a bit frustrating. If I set "Use Google Voice To Make All Calls" under GV settings and then try and make a call it does not do anything. Not even an error (although I assume there is one occurring)
However if I change it to "ask Me every time" then I am able to make outbound calls with my GV number.
I tried other dialers and have had the same experience.
Will keep experimenting for now

Cool. Any luck with using GV for all calls? This is the first phone I have had trouble getting GV working properly.
Hi,
I've been experiencing the exact same issue and found this thread- am using Omega 5.0 but it sounds like it's a rom independent issue.
Have you made any progress? I am also only able to call if I select "ask each time".
I'm having the same issue. I just flashed to the latest LF2 firmware and it's still happening. With the number of Galaxy S3s sold, I'm surprised that more people aren't complaining about this.
Even when I have the app set to "Ask me every time.." the call is still placed with my carrier number. It's a pain in the butt because now people think that I've changed my number and are starting to text my carrier number.
I had no issues with my S2 (Gingerbread or ICS)
My only suggestion is to post a review in the Market explaining this problem. If you see another review that is also having a problem, mark it as helpful.
EDIT: I tried this and it appears to be working!
CharleySimmons said:
OK, did a little more testing - and stumbled across something looks like only 7 digit dialing is affected. 10 digit dialing does indeed use google voice. Frankly, I'm not sure if this was the case in stock GB or not - with out a way to roll back, I can't test.

Well I am still struggling with this one.
I do not think it is a GV + ICS issue because it worked fine on the HTC One X for the two whole weeks I had one.
I feel that it is more likely and issue between the GS3 ROM and GV but I have no idea how to make Samsung aware of it. Especially since GV is only in the US and the phone is international.
I have the Sprint version coming in this week hopefully and I will be able to find some things out.
For now if you have not tried it, I highly recommend checking out GrooVe IP. It works really well I was quite surprised.
Yes, I think it is actually a long standing issue with 7 digit numbers, however it isn't working for me with 10 digit numbers either! Except strangely, if I type a random garbage number it will work, but not work on my existing contact numbers- I've even tried to delete the contact and phone manually and no luck either... do you mind telling me which rom you're using?
I think you two are correct. ICS isn't the problem, it's the GS3 firmware. My Galaxy S2 was running ICS and GV with no problems. And to clarify, with the i9300, we seem to be having two issues:
1. Some people are unable to configure GV for voicemail and,
2. Many of us are unable to make outbound calls using GV
For the first issue, I have had luck by either a) skipping the voicemail portion of the setup and adding voicemail settings manually or b) Installing a backup of GV from my GS2 using Titanium Backup
For the outbound calling issue, I think I fixed it by using the Country code + 10 digit number. So, I guess "11" digit dialing might be a better description for us USA owners.
312-555-1212 FAILS but 1-312-555-1212 is working for me.
Give that a try?

It's actually an issue with the Google Voice app and the SGS3 Dialer. It used to be that when you configure the Voice mail, it brings up the Phone configuration page in the settings, where you could set it, but in SGS3, the GV app can't bring it up, so you will need to do it manually.
Go into the Dialer and click on the Menu Button, go into Call settings, and there you can configure your Voicemail setting.

I tried to add a 1 or a +1 prefix but still no go. To give more description to the bug, if I reboot the phone, and under "always use GV", the first time I dial, it will create a "call not sent" prompt, but the call will actually go through via GV and function correctly. The second time however, it just fails to respond without any prompt.
Edit: I'm on ZNLE9, XXALF2 built.

I have no problems with 10 digits if I use the "ask me everytime" option- I'm only trying to figure out how to get it working under "use GV everytime". So it's just a bit tedious atm but not gamebreaking I guess.

Yes. Same problem here.
I have also found that if I just dial a random number that I have not called before that it will actually work the FIRST time and fail every time after.
Just use youmail. It works great and not a pita to set uo

Me too...
I'm also running into the "Make all calls" issue. "Ask every time" works perfectly.
I recall a few MIUI roms where out-of-the-box, the dialer app did not allow any third party access and this same issue would happen until you dug around in the call settings to allow access to other apps. Again, the "Ask every time" option worked, but "Make all calls" didn't until that setting was changed.
So, I'm assuming it is indeed an issue with the stock SGS3 rom's dialer application, for the GT-I9300 at least. Hopefully a fix will come soon.
I'm curious to see if "Make all calls" works after flashing a CM9 nightly. Trouble is, I just got this thing and wanna play around for a while before I root it.
I can confirm the same issue, as well. "Ask me everytime" works, but "Use for all calls" doesn't. This is on stock and Omega 5.0 roms.
Has anyone tried CM9 nightly to see if this issue goes away or any other suggestions?
Anyone owning the Gear S having an issue with the watch sending text message from either the watch number or your cell phone number depending on the method you create the message on the watch? Or better have a solution to fix it?
IE;
While no longer bluetoothed to my cell phone (but with call FWD turned on) If I swipe down go to messages and create a message the receiving person gets a text message from the CELL phone number. However if I then use the S-Voice feature to text the same person they receive a text message from the WATCH phone number. If I get a text message from someone that was FWDed to my watch from my phone and respond to it they get a text message from the CELL phone number. However if I get a phone call from someone FEDed to my watch and hit end then select a quick response to the person they get a text message from the WATCH phone number. If I were to go back into messages and respond to the same thread of message it continues to text the person from the WATCH phone number. I have to create a new message in the messages section in order to make it go back to the CELL PHONE number.

YEah, that's pretty annoying. my wife is a little upset I have 2 numbers now.
I was a little annoyed by the second number as well. More so because they don't mention it and only state it in the fine print on the site. However it only real comes into play when you call out, or experience my issue. I am currently in conversation with Samsung over a long posting back and forth. It is sounding like its a software issue (go figure), however they are not exactly forth coming with such information.
Are you having the same problem?

No you didn't read my whole description of the issue. Sometimes it does it the way its suppose to sometimes it does not. All depends on what I use to create the SMS. It is setup properly; double checked that many times.

Not totally sure what you mean by 'is yours' but if your asking is my watch set up correctly then as stated before, yes mine it. I have check it many times, it simply does not work.

Just got a new z5c - I'm in the US on AT&T. This didn't seem to be a problem until last night, but now I'm having messages take between 5 minutes and 2 hours to come into my phone. People are still getting my sent messages instantly. Never experienced this problem on my old phone (2013 Moto X using same sim card), so I'm guessing it's not the carrier but the phone itself.
Also, restarting my phone seems to cause all the backed up messages to come in at once. Really annoying problem, wondering if anyone can help.
I switched my sim card back to my old phone and a bunch of messages came flooding in. Asked friends to test texting me with sim card in each phone - texts came instantly on old phone and way delayed on z5c. Already disabled iMessage. I've tried using Textra, the messenger app that comes with the phone, and Google messaging and all have the same outcome.

Odd. I'm on AT&T as well and have not experienced this. Are you sure your apn is correct?

I'm using the auto-APN detected by Textra:
http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
proxy.mobile.att.net
port 80
Is this different from yours? Also, wouldn't the APN only affect MMS, not SMS?

I had a similar problem, then I noticed the "queue background data" setting in power management was turned on by default. Turning that off fixed it for me.

Did you ever get this figured out? My wife is having a similar problem with her phone (MMS won't send) and I can't figure it out. Her LTE works fine and SMS messages send and receive like normal. But she can't send or receive picture MMS messages.
I remember someone posting they had to modify the settings (don't remember if it's apn or something else) to allow ONLY ipv4 (not both or IPv6)..that resolved the issue.

I tried that too. Someone mentioned it in another thread so I gave it a go. No dice.
I solved my issue by doing a factory reset - apparently there's a problem with importing messages from an older phone.
It doesn't sound like the same problem you're experiencing though.
Hi! I just wanna ask you guys if your z5 compact is displaying LTE on the signal bars on ATT. I have a z5 compact and i only get 4g. My device is registered as lte capable device.
All international versions display 4g instead of lte. So the 4g should indeed be lte speeds.
