I am having a problem with finding the right version for rooting and resetting the flash counter on my i9300.
I already rooted my phone once with the cyanogenmod installer. But my problem is that the phone just returned from repair and they installed the official samsung rom again but the flash counter remains above zero.
Which version of android should i install as a dane?
Installed on phone right now:
Baseband version i9300XXUGNA8
Build version: JSS15J.i9300XXUGNA5
I do not think that the infomation above matches the infomation i have found on the web.

Hi. Got a GSII from T-Mobile a few days ago and (obviously) went ahead and rooted it. Then I noticed I had a dead pixel and T-Mob are going to swap it over since I'm within the 7 day period. I have unrooted and used the GS jig to reset the insecure kernel download number. I then downloaded a secure kernal and flashed using Odin.
In my settings, however, it still says:
Baseband version: I9100BOKG1
Kernel version: [email protected] #2
Build number: GINGERBREAD.BOKG2
Would anyone be able to tell me how I get that information to show I have an untampered with device? I feel like I'm missing something pretty simple (or it can't be done)

What is the kernel you used to flash back to stock?
Flash a full stock rom not a kernel .
Reset rom counter to zero with usb jig .
Thats all you need to do .
They might query KG2 firmware with KE2 kernel instead of matching KG2 kernel .

I have bought a second hand Samsung Galaxy S 2 in China.
The Android version installed is 2.3.3; I tried to do an update via Kies but I got the infamous message that "firmware update is not supported" for my device. I understand from other posts in the forum that maybe the firmware installed is not matching with the original region of the device, in this case I should install the right firmware in order to get the support from Kies, am I right?
But my question is...how do I know the original firmware/region for my model?
The data of the device are the following:
Model Number: GT-I9100
Android Version: 2.3.3
Baseband version: I9100XXKE4
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKE7-CL215725 [email protected] #2 (does this mean the phone has been rooted?)
Build Number: QUENS.GINGERBREAD.XWKE7
Plus, when I connect to Kies the current firmware version detected is:
I9100XWKE7/I9100XEUKD1/I9100XXKE4/I9100XWKE7 (DBT)
Sorry for the noob question, I tried to figure out from the sticky post and used search but I am still confused...(yes, I got intimidated by the welcoming video of the forum)

Its not posible to know without evidence guess maybe.

That reads as a custom rom by Quens ???

If its a i9100 and no other version pick a stock rom from the stock roms posts .
With later firmware and to match region phone is used in .

Hello Guys,
can some one please help me in rooting the phone and installing ICS resurruction remix or to the latest version applicable...
I looked up on the Internet and there is so much information where I am getting confused, can some one give me a hand in finding the correct update applicable.

one of my friend did the update without complete knowledge, my phone was not even rooted, I had 2.3.3 Version (intial version when I bought the phone a year ago)
Current problems - I cannot get 3G signal (data network doesn't turn on)
Let me know If any further informaiton is required.

Root your phone with CF-root Kernel (CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_LP1-v5.2-CWM5.zip)
download from the link in my signature and flash as per the guide on the thread,
then install your favorite ROM from CWM,
if the 3g issue is a software diffect, it will be solved by flashing new ROM,
otherwise service center....
Recently i purchased a GT-S5360L after downloading two apps my phone told me my memory was low, i then attempted to use app2sd and rooted my phone i also tried creeds rom which was good except my headphone jacks didnt work, after trying to flash to hyperion7 my phone decided not to boot and i was bricked i decided to flash to a different rom from brazil using odin which brought my phone back however i as unable to get back my hsdpa i have read xda forums and i have tried just about everything but i cannot get back the initial rom, i recently went back to my mobile provider's store and found this information :model : gt-s5360L android version: 2.3.6 baseband version S5360LUHKK2 Kernel version: 2.6.35.7 [email protected] #39 Build number GINGERBREAD.WBK i tried to search the net but to know avail kies wont update my phone beacause of the odin rom i am running and though i have downloaded files from sammobile that might help they are huge and not odin friendly i was wondering if there is a way to get my original rom back, from samsung or otherwise i ram an app created byy docky which said my burn in model os is s5360maljdi is there anyone who knows a method other than slitfuz which might help me to revert back to my previous rom, i dont have any nandroid backup and i also know itts my fault and i am a stupid noob, please help me my company uses 850 as their 4G/3G/HSDPA band if that helps

I want to unroot my phone as I wanted to avail exchange offer given by Samsung. Even if I do not avail exchange offer unrooting will help to get Adndoid version 4.3 which is about to come for i9305.
