to root our phones 1st we flash the MD2 pre release kernel using Odin in the PDA slot then use Motochopper then flash back the MDK kernel.
It's all listed and explained in the thread I linked you. Have you followed those steps?

Yay 4 Mopho v1 CM5 base...ROOT REQUIRED + Final SBF

Here it is...this was created using the latest build released to me yesterday. It is completely stock but deodexed and zipaligned. I have been running this since last night and have not had one single hiccup. What excatly was addressed in this build i don't know i just know it runs very smoothly.
To flash you must be rooted and have the bootstrap recovery installed. If you're not rooted yet the official sbf will be linked below. If coming from a rooted MR3 a wipe is not required however i do recommend flashing the latest sbf rooting it then flashing my rom.

i will release it in the morning right now i am currently uploading my rom and not sure where you are but it's almost 130 am and i am beat.
yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay it's morning!!!
I just tried flashing it through the Bootstrap Recovery. I had Mikey's ROM installed but I still show MR1 in my Build Info. I was unable to flash the YAY ROM because it generated an Error 0, whatever that means. Should I try wiping before I do the install? Do you think my download somehow got corrupted?

i would suggest flashing the latest sbf rooting then flashing this.
Will do. Unfortunately, it'll have to wait until I can make another pilgrimmage to the Sprint Store to re-root. Thanks for all of your work!
So...will soon have roms already pre-rooted prettty soon...patience.

[Q] How can i root my 2.3.3 Optimus One?

Hey, just to set this straight before i ask my question, i am not a total noob in terms of android and i have searched the web as much as i could before asking this. i have rooted my motorola cliq and asus transformer and installed custom kernels and roms on both.
Now, the problem i have is that i updated to the official 2.3.3 and i am trying to root now.
i tried these methods with all no luck:
SuperOneClick(v1.9.5 and the latest one)
Gingerbread.apk
z4root.apk
i even tried the method with abd but this error came up
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Now, does anyone know an easy way to root this phone or fix my problem with abd...? also are there any ways to downgrade to 2.2.1 or 2.2.2 and just root from there and then install cwm and upgrade to cm7?
Thanks for all the help.
If it maters i have the .35 kernel.
Im running windows 7 64bit but i can use a vista or ubuntu machine if i have to..

Thank you for that quick reply.
I already tried that method though... or atleast i attempted to..
whenever i would type in adb devices i would get that picture i posted....
Holy crap, i feel like such an idiot....
ive been typing abd instead of adb this whole time. thanks for the help.
Now, my kernel ends in .35, can i flash any rom despite of that?
because i wanted to flash this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1394007 and it says something about it being .32 based....
for. 32 based rom's you need to downgrade your baseband...search forum or check the FAQ in general section...

Not to sure because I had to factory reset to get mine to work. Then it came back as market, but easily upgraded to Play Store. Or you can use condi's AIO tool to install a 'black market' Play Store.

Are your drivers all installed properly? I had to go and install mine because Device Manager showed my tablet wasn't recognized properly. Not sure if it's related.
does that mean we are able to root our device once we are on an unrooted ics??
From reading many, many, many threads on vpnfaker and xperia, etc, I have tried the automatic and not manual, have not been able to get it work. However, it does appear from various forum threads others have. I am not sure what the missing key is for mine though. Going to wait a little longer and see if the automated way gets a few more updates and try again.

Is there not a root method for the i527??

Just got this Mega and been looking all day for a root method and haven't ran across one for the AT&T Mega i527? If not then this really blows, I'll have to trade it off for a AT&T Note 2.

No Custom recovery due to the locked bootloader Therefore no custom roms to flash- also, I think Knox has something to do with it too. I am a little confused about knox. Not too much info for us simpleminded folk. lol.
But like you, was just looking for root for titanium backup and other rooted apps. I really like the mega when I want to carry a Biga$$ phone around. lol. Otherwise I carry an Iphone 5s. What can I say!!! I go both ways!!!:laugh:

CM11 update won't install

Hi everyone,
Okay so I got home and got a notification saying cyanogenmod had an update for my phone (i9300) and so I tapped install, it reboot and shows it installing with the little android guy, gets to about a quarter and then aborts, reboots and goes back to the lockscreen as if nothing had happened.
I originally used the cyanogenmod installer to root awhile ago btw.
What I'd like to know is why won't it update, picture is on the system update screen.
