[Q] Weird vibration that won't stop? - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

Really weird issue, don't know what causes it.
The phone starts vibrating like crazy and won't stop until I reboot the phone. It happens randomly, not too often but it's quite annoying.
Running stock, rooted 14.2.A.1.136. Anyone else experience this?

I'm sure you didn't wipe after any official sony updates. So I recommending you to Factory reset with full wipe.

I'm glad you're so sure. Because I started the entire root process from a clean, completed wiped internal memory. Anything else you're sure about?

Why you talking like a d!ck
I didn't saw that you did a root.
Try to flash it clean 136 ftf. I'm sure is not a hardware issue

I experienced the same thing on the new Kitkat build. It started by itself and I had to reboot to stop it. It happened once and that was it. Never happened again.

Do I need to wipe data after flashing an official firmware?

I have heard mixed things on this subject, I haven't wiped my data after updating to KI3 and there are little to no issues (I have gotten about two force closes since it came out).
I also heard that if I root I lose my data, is that correct?
If you aren't facing any problem then don't but otherwise do a Full Wipe. Before doing than make Backup with Titanium.
So if I experience any issues, then root, back up and then wipe? I haven't rooted yet and the only use I will get from it is backing up. But that is useful thank you.
i don't think so just make a backup !!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not quite sure what you mean.
IF you don't experience any problems don't wipe, you're alright already. Now, if you have problems, wipe your data, but then you'll have to reflash. You don't wipe after flashing, you must do it before flashing.

Well, when flashing from a very different firmware to another things might not work well, and the problem is you on't know what's causing the problem. At least I always do a full wipe since I backup all my apps with titanium backup pro so set my phone again takes me little time. Try your phone for a couple of days and just wipe if you need to, if not keep enjoying it as it is.
Thanks! Everyone has been very helpful.

Screen not responding power button acting weird

So I have a fairly new Blue 9300 and it was working fine and then started not responding to my finger on the lock screen. Then I would try to use the power button to cycle the screen on and off and it wont work. Sometimes I can hold the power button and get the power off menu to appear and then sometimes it will respond and let me reset.
First Question: Anyone else have this?
Second: I think it may be due to flashing so is there a superwipe I can try?
Ok, what did you do prior to this, which Rom etc

Not too much. Rooted it busybox super user. That's it. I did do a full backup from my white 9300 and restored to the blue 9300 but have since reflashed stock everything from Odin and still have bug. I restored through MyBackup Pro after the Odin reflash. I was hoping for some kind of super wipe to try and one last restore and then this bad boy is going back to Sammy I think :crying:
Edit
Mybackup restore was just call logs and sms mms no apps.
try a complete fresh Odin flash with no restore of anything and see how that goes, then if you are going to do a restore do a bit at a time if all is good, and see if that gives you any indication of where the problem may lie

Ok so I'm guessing no super wipe yet for sgs3. Never got the point of them but now I wouldn't mind. Should I do a factory reset and then odin restore? I think part of the issue was that I didn't do a reset before the Odin flash before. All My info was still there after Odin except my root haha
there is a super wipe app over in general, just be aware that this wipes sd card as far as I know

Alright did wipe now I am doing restore through Odin. Hope it works if not Triangle Away will be the best $3 I ever spent
Ok I'm back to using the it (it's my loved pebble blue that I hunted down ) and it seems fine only issue I am now getting is a not responding on the Messaging app. This is kinda weird as this is one of the things I did restore. It happened right after the restore. When I go into the messaging app it does the same thing and force closes.

[Q] Wifi Crashing after Jelly Bean Update

Hello guys.
After spending several hours of search and review, I was unlucky to find the information I need. It could be my poor search skill, so my apologies if this is a repeated question.
My S2 is from Bell.
Today my Galaxy S2 got an update to Jelly Bean 4.1.2 (I9100MUGMA5). First, it gave me SIM NETWORK LOCK issue. I did a research here, and found that it means the phone is LOCKED again. So I had to unlock it. (Did rooting first and locked with GalaxSim Unlock) Since then, everything seems to be okay and working fine with an exception of one problem.
When it attempts to connect to wifi, it crashes and reboot itself and it repeats several time until it's finally connected. I tried a few different things but it's got nothing to do with data on/off. It seems solely to be wifi problem.
I'm just wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same issue I have here.
Should I downgrade to ICS?
What have you tried exactly?

wifi-on/data-off
wifi-off/data-off
wifi-on/data-on
wifi-off/data-on
it crashes and reboot itself whenever the wifi is on regardless data is on/off
did you try any other wifi signals?
Could be a router conflict.
I assume you've already deleted that account and registered again right?

Yeah, I tried the wifi at work today, same issue.
I'm not sure if I deleted that account, but it usually didn't ask me to enter the password to login the wifi, it automatically connects when within the area. But now, it asks me to login everytime wifi is on.
Not sure if I answered your questions. Sorry, not an expert, but having a huge frustration. Thought this jelly bean would be awesome.... :crying:

I'm not an expert, just applying common sense that's all.
It's a good thing wifi at work didn't work. It points to wifi settings.
When you flashed, did you wipe?

Ok, wipe means factory reset I guess.
So at this point, what do need to do? Downgrade to ICS -> Wipe -> Jelly bean update again?

Spending more than half a day to figure out this issue, I don't even know what I'm doing here, so I reboot and wipe data/factory reset.
It went back to factory ICS 4.0.3. Good thing I did backup all data before I did that, so didn't really lose anything.
Now I'm thinking if I want to try Jelly bean again....
Your comment please. And Many thanks for your previous comments. I do appreciate it.

Yea, everything is back to normal (ICS 4.0.3) now. Wifi working okay.
Now, (since it's wiped and factory reset) I will probably update to JB again, see if it works properly this time.
The good thing is that, now I know that I can go back to the ICS in the worst case by wiping and factory reseting.

Lol, factory reset sets your current ROM's settings to default.
Remember when you flashed JB? You had to select language, google account and all that. Factory reset takes you to that instance.
FACTORY (ROM by Google) RESET (Settings back to default).
When I said reboot into recovery I meant Recovery mode, so you could get your JB ROM the way Google set it to work, no user configurations whatsoever, WiFi included

Problem resolved and here's what I did.
1. Downgrade to ICS using Odin.
2. Wipe and factory reset in recovery mode
3. Upgrade to JB using Kies.
There's tons of posts regarding downgrading to ICS. I just picked one and followed the instructions. It gave me an issue that the phone freezed at the booting logo (I guess it's called bricked??), so I just wiped and factory reset the phone that lead to the stock ICS.

M8 keeps rebooting...

Sorry if this is already posted somewhere...
I have a rooted m8.. its been rooted for about 3-4 months and all of a sudden Its starting to reboot by itself..
I rebooted it once and it turns on and works for about 1 minute and then reboots by itself continuously..
Its rooted by team win recovery project 2.7.0.2...
does anyone know whats wrong?
is there anything I can do from the bootloader?

You must have installed something that is causing these bootloops. If you have a nandroid backup, this would be the time to use it.
I managed to fix it by wiping in the bootloader

Wiped in bootloader, or in recovery?
Wiping in bootloader on a modded M8 corrupts the internal memory (although I don't know it does this 100% of the time, but I still don't recommend doing it ever).
My bad think it was in recovery

Kinda what I figured. On the One X (EVITA) doing a factory reset in bootloader on a modded phone was a surefire way to corrupt the internal memory. I haven't seen this called out definitely on the M8, but I suspect its the case. I've seen more than a few reports by various users that factory reset corrupts internal memory.
So apparently I didn't fix it..
as soon as I restarted it for the first time again.. afterwards it just restarts by itself every minute or so... really not trying to do a recovery wipe again :/
anyone have any clue?
Stock ROM or otherwise? S-on or off? Did you flash any other mods, radio, etc.?
Once again, I believe this time its fixed, I looked around and I simply had to update SuperSU through TWRP, its all good now, Thanks

Hello guys!

Anyone know what to do?

Have you tried a factory reset after backing up all your data?
Charge it to 100% after factory reset, before installing any apps to determine whether its an OS issue or soma app is the culprit...

Try a factory reset
It's not only you!
I have the same annoying problem - only seems to do it once it reaches 100% charge. And I think it only started when I installed the OTA update to B371. Stock too.
At some point I'll do a factory reset to see if that fixes it.

I neve had this issue, but I always do a factory reset after each update, so maybe that's why.
Those who have this problem, just do a factory reset and check if it solves.

I've had this even after factory reset, after updating to latest software.
Hmm, it's hard to say what is causing the issue
I didn't want to do factory reset, because I must install all my apps again. But I did it and it helped me.
Thank You
It was probably due to an app
