DISCLAIMER: I did not write any of the code for this. I simply cherry picked a few patches from OmniROM's gerrit and built it for hammerhead. All of the credit goes to the Omni-team. Please also note that these features are not merged into the nightlies for a reason, they are experimental and/or works-in-progress.

FLASHING INSTRUCTIONS:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.) Wipe cache, dalvik cache, system & data from a recovery
2.) Flash the omni-4.4.2-HOMEMADE.zip that you downloaded the link above
3.) Flash a 4.4.2 compatible GApps - I suggest Paranoid Android's
4.) Reboot System
5.) Enjoy!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
***NOTE: Dirty flashing (i.e. wiping only cache and dalvik cache) is not recommended, but will most likely work coming from an OmniROM 4.4.2 nightly. I have only tested this with instructions supplied above so I cannot promise a dirty flash will work. If you choose to dirty flash, make you have reliable backup ***

Yes, this was synced as of 7 PM last night. I will plan on keeping this up to date as well; not nightly builds but a couple a week. I also have another build just like this that includes lock screen notifications if anyone wants that. I haven't tested it yet so that's why I haven't posted it.

Sorry it took a little more time than expected.
The new build is up. As previously stated, I have not tested this yet so I'm not sure how it will work. I cherry picked the multi-window feature then built that. Immediately after building and testing, I cherry picked the lockscreen notifications; everything went smooth without errors and built just fine as well.
I do plan on continuing these builds. I will update to include the latest commits as well as keeping up with the nightlies. I will not build every night, but I will build relatively often.
I am also open to adding new features as long as they are in the OmniROM gerrit. I will eventually get to learning how to cherry pick other features from other ROMs, but since I'm still new to this, I will stick with experimental Omni features for now.
I'm thinking about a few other features I may pick in the near future, let me know what you think:
- On-The-Go Mode
- Battery Saver Mode
- Smart Stay (similar to Samsungs)

[ROM][4.4.2] AOKP Unofficial Nightlies for hammerhead

my-blue-snog-box's unofficial AOKP Nightlies for Nexus 5 (hammerhead)
I started compiling AOKP nightlies from source recently. This project started as a way for me to learn about compiling from source and to grab the latest commits for myself. I figured that if I'm using the resources to compile nightly builds, I might as well share them. Currently, everything is true to the latest AOKP source code.
I would really appreciate any feedback once you've flashed the ROM!
Check out the source code.
You can find the changelog on AOKP's Gerrit
PS: If you see a merged commit on AOKP's Gerrit that you've really been waiting for, don't hesitate to PM me and ask me to compile a fresh build. I have a lot going on in my life and I can't always follow commits as I would like, but most of the time it's fairly easy for me to start compiling even from a remote location.
Thanks to:
The AOKP Team for the Source code and all the awesome work they do
@jabza for all the help with Git and Repo
@Red Devil for his guide on Repo and manifests here

Hey, @my-blue-snog-box , I'm doing more or less the same thing but for ParanoidAndroid. While I am not a huge AOKP guy myself, I figured I'd just let you know that I'm happy to help you with any questions you have or if you run into any issues. It looks like you've got things under control so far, but as you go on to cherry-pick new features or make some tweaks or whatever, I know it can be nice to have someone to ask questions to.
Anyways, I don't mean to derail your thread too much, I just wanted to say I'm here to help. Good luck! :highfive:

Yeah immersive is awesome you can use halo as the status bar and it works great! I'm just a builder right now not quite a modder! And that ota wiped halo because that's pa if you want halo you will have to look in this thread each time they update. Beta 5 didn't add much so...

The OTA app will always go to AOSPA's official builds. If you're going to use an unofficial build, I'd recommend turning off checking for ROM updates. You'll have to update it from here.

DT2w also working. Not to mention smooth fast and crisp animations. I would def recommend to anyone running cm/caf based roms. I am gonna stream bluetooth pandora and play with sound next.

This is a really handy kernel! Nice work, sir. The only thing I have to complain about is that the L2R and R2L require slow swipes for them to register as a swipe, otherwise, they seem to register as taps. Otherwise, it definitely makes this device better for us lazy types :good:

FAQ
What type of kernel does this use?
AOSP kernels. I, personally, use ElementalX.
Where's my root access?
Look up a little bit, above the FAQ section.
Where is ART?
It seems that this is a hybrid 4.3-4.4 build of android, mainly KitKat, but features such as ART and Immersive have yet to be implemented.
What about Immersive mode?
Read the question directly above this one. Immersive is partially present, but seems to be statusbar-only.

I notice it in the Copy/Paste mainly, but the order is easy to remember.

Are you sure you can use ElementalX with this? I've been running it since the first beta was released, but every time I try to flash a custom kernel it fails to boot at all. Also you should note that if you flash GAPPS the weekly automatic OTAs will fail due to the way MIUI implement weekly patches - checks for system apps and if it finds anything it is not expecting then it fails.

You can use ElementalX as long as you use the AOSP version. As for the GApps issue, I think I mentioned something about that in the OP. I'd have to double-check.
EDIT: I didn't mention that issue specifically, but I did mention to check that thread for details with root and GApps.

Amazing!
Thank you so much! This is amazing! A nice change from stock Android
I also have the Chinese characters in the copy/paste text popup even though I selected English. Definitely not a big deal though
Thanks OP!

If anyone wants, I have a little review of the ROM at http://en.miui.com/thread-20605-1-1.html. Enjoy!

Themes haven't been fully implemented yet. You can test some of its current, limited functionality by going to Settings > Display > Wallpaper > Themes.

Care to check General Chat? I was told to put the thread there by a mod due not being "original" (by me). Otherwise it's duplicated...
Have used the rom.... its sad we can only choose the V5 to flash.. the previous V4 is way better.. there is no theme to choose for V5 and all the icon fonts and logo are tiny winy...

This is actually v6, based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

What type of kernel does this use?
AOSP kernels. I, personally, use ElementalX.

Nice, but XDA and GPL require a link to kernel source included with the ROM. AOSP really means .... nothing as it's only a generic term.

There is no v6.. Search at en.miui.com and you would not find it.. This is just v5 based on kitkat.. Still a nice looking rom though!

Minimus is back! I built Minimus on the idea of minimalism. The idea behind Minimus is a stock like ROM with the benefits of essential features that enhance the stock experience.
Features:
CM Theme Engine support
Advance Reboot
Screenshot delete
Switch apps via recents hold
Quick Unlock
Volume Rocker wake and Music Controls
Volume Adjust Sound
Instructions
1. Download ROM and Gapps.
2. Boot into custom recovery of your choice.
3. If you're coming from a different ROM, I suggest you perform a factory reset using TWRP
4. a) Clean Installation: Flash ROM, GApps.
b) Dirty Flash: Flash ROM
5. Reboot and enjoy.
Download:
ROM: Minimus - 07/17/15
Gapps: TK Gapps
Older builds
FYI: Kernel Source is stock

Going to try this will report back ?
Hey bud. Just flashed this ROM, and everything seems to be good so far! Stock with theme chooser! Something I've been wanting for a while, now Just letting you know, though. ROM does NOT come with a launcher. If you flash TK gapps then it will, but otherwise it won't. Luckily the Play Store popped up for me in my recents so I could install GNL, but yeah man. Just letting you know.

App ops will be included in the next build. The others I'll think about it/look into it.

Great but pls include not to many features. All the other roms are overfilled with features...

This will be my rom for a long time. I've always been a fan of less is more.
Is there a way to turn off the sound when adjusting notifcation/ringtone volume?

I intend not to bloat the ROM up with features. Like you said, there are plenty of ROMs out there that have every feature available. I want to keep minimus to a minimum when it comes to features.

Some useful features would be quick unlock, and a clear all recents button. That would be it. I understand exactly what you mean when you say you wanna keep it stock with a few features, but those features should've been in stock AOSP in the first place.

Quick unlock will be included in a future build. Clear all I'll think about. Tbh I never use clear all because I use an app called recently by chainfire. It's extremely useful. You should give it a try.

Recently? That does sound interesting. I'll give that a look a little later.
Also, hold back to kill app and last app with the recent button. Those shortcuts are EXTREMELY useful.

Oh! My bad, dude. Late nights at work, lol. I flashed back to Chroma because of some certain features not included (I mean that in no disrespect to you or your work whatsoever), and because I've come to find out that my phone doesn't play nice with ElementalX kernel. But I'll definitely be coming back on the next build.

Waiting for volume rocker wake and will flash this asap! Thanks @jarjar124 ?
