FINALLY! I picked mine up on Thursday in South Dallas, Las Colinas to be precise. They had four in stock & mine was the first one sold. They did not have any of the dot view cases, nor any other, but they had the device & I picked up a hybrid from Amazon, black bumper with a clear back, that fits perfectly & adds the much needed surface for grip.
The M8 very much surpasses the M7 in every aspect so far. The overall construction is far superior to the M7, which says a lot, since the M7 was also well constructed. It is the most premium feeling/looking device out there.
I am also hapy to see manufacturers are FINALLY standardizing hardware components. One of the reasons I went back to HTC & away from Samsung is because of how seamlessly you can switch between Intl, carrier & GPe firmware versions. Something I feel Samsung has still yet to figure out, providing many variants with varying processor chipsets.
I love beinig able to go from the Nexus-like experience of a GPe device & a Sense Rom & while the camera may not be the worlds best, it is improved over the M7 & just as good if not better than the S5 in many conditions. Sure, you might not be able to print 5x7's if you zoom & crop, but if you take the picture you want & frame it correctly to begin with, it is great.

I think I want to swap the gray for the silver, I am just nervous the silver/white plastic will stain over time.

I went into my local At&t store on Thursday and the guy said i could only pre-order. So anyway, Friday afternoon browsing their site they had a store locator for the device. It said they had them in stock. So i called up and sure enough she said they got a few in to sell. So i ran up there and picked mine up. They only had the gun metal color too. Does at&t even have the silver color in their lineup? I know the gold is exclusive to Best Buy.
Awesome, they are in stock in Atlanta I'm probably going to wait for a $150 or less deal to come to AT&T first before I buy!

They didn't believe I had the At&t version. Said they didn't think it had been released. Made it funny because I was using my phone to email them.

If you are planning on getting one you can sign up on their website to get emailed a discount code when a case is first made available. I imagine once it comes out officially you won't be able to get the discount.

I emailed David a long time ago to confirm the date and never got a response...
I emailed him today and got a response which stated the case would be available on the 25th but in the email he referred to it as the Skyrocket so its probably not for our phones.

These cases got horrible video reviews on YouTube. Did anyone actually try these?
Based on their responses (or lack thereof) and not being able to distinguish the Skyrocket from our phone, I am not putting any faith anymore in this vendor to be honest.

I picked up my EVO 4G LTE on the 1st weekend it was out for $99 at a sprint store. I got a killer deal and some discounts and my old EVO was not even ready for a full upgrade at the time. Sold my old Evo on ebay for about $75 so I walked away with a steal.
Got to know how to shop and deal these days, I'm afraid.

I work for a sprint repair center and we noticed the other day that people coming in with issues with their phone and needed replacements that we had the option to give them an HTC one!! We thought at first it was because the evo lte was on backorder but it's not. It gives us the option of either or. So hey if any of you guys want to take advantage of this free upgrade with insurance then get your Ass to a repair center!!
Edit: btw this does not effect your upgrade or contract it acts as a simple swap

What if there is physical damage? I have a hairline crack on my screen...mind you I have a Seidio Convert Rugged case (sat at an odd angle and somehow did the impossible)
Would I be able to do the same?

I may be SOL then. The crack I have is a single line from the back button to just about an half inch above the recent apps button. Who knows though? I've always believed a sturdy case would protect me (had the same case for my OG EVO and that was flawless), but I guess not. I could call in and try tmrw morning. I have TEP insurance.
I'm waiting for a replacement right now. They said my EVO will be here Friday. No talk of the one or of being on back order.

Might've been limited to certain areas. Ugh. Did you ask? I remember having to do the same with my gf's Thunderbolt. Was so butt of a phone that Verizon (or at least Asurion) eventually upgraded it to a Rezound. After I asked though.
Just snagged this phone today on amazon for a whopping $21.74 can't be anymore excited to have it wednesday. I got it's predecessor for 100$ last year at this time of year and snagged it's successor for even less today. Talk about winning! So, what should i expect from this phone coming from the Optimus G. Just a heads up. Best Buy has preorders delivered by the 25th for people that haven't ordered yet or have to wait until next month to get theirs. Also showed store pickup for today in certain locations. Ion gold was on backorder but after checking today they added the preorder for Quartz Grey. Hope this helps.

Had I known it temporarily went back in stock with Amazon, I would have bought it immediately.. I swear I've never had so much difficulty buying a phone before and as it turns out there's only so many delays I can stand before just quitting.
True but keep checking because originally Amazon had it backordered for 1-2 months until earlier this week when I ordered so it might appear again unexpectedly.

I got mine (also grey) from Newegg 2 days ago. They were showing the release date as 9/9, but shipped it very early

Mine is supposed to be delivered tomorrow, but the tracking page hasn't been updated to shipped status. I'm still in the limbo whether I'm gonna get it tomorrow or not. =(

Chech your local bestbuy, some have the gray in stock.
Picked up the gray one on Monday in NJ. A few stores have them in stock. A BestBuy in Philadelphia has some too.
Yea, I got mine today also. The local Best Buy had 3 gray ones in stock.
