Hello there,
i am using the Stock E-Mail Client from my Galaxy S3 and now, i want to reset my Phone but there are > 3000 Mails stored in the local Sent-Folder.
I have used SMTP to send Emails, My Mail-Provider and the Stock Email Client doesnt support the Server Side Save of Emails.

[Q] Having more contacts on the phone than on the Exchange server

Hello,
I have a SGS2 with stock XWKI4 ROM and i have 581 contacts on the phone and the Exchange server shows only 577 of them, the phone show all the contacts as beeing on the exchange account.
If i add a new contact on the phone or on the exchange server they sync ok, but if i modify a contact that is only on the phone it doesn't get uploaded to the server.
Is there a way to force upload the differences to the server?
Thanks for any suggestions.

[Q] Hotmail - Non deletion of email on Server

Hi all,
I have set up my hotmail account on my Samsung S3 however, when I delete an email on my phone I do not want it deleted from the Hotmail server. Is there an option to do this or is it just tough
Thanks
No takers?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA
You set it on the Hotmail account itself. Log in from a desktop computer and go into POP3 settings - you should be able to find a setting in there that allows you to decide whether to delete emails from the server when they're deleted from the device.
Mmmm thanks for the reply but I have tried that. Seems once you delete them from the S3 they are deleted from Hotmail also. On most other devices there is an option to stop deletion from the server.
Any other help?
Depends what sort of account you've set up on the phone. If it's POP3, the method I've described above will work - however if you're using Exchange / Activesync, since that sort of account is direct sync, there is no option to leave mail on the server when you delete from the device as far as I know.
That's the one. Thanks chap. Now I've done it I am not sure I prefer the POP3 setup BUT at least I have the option.

Export emails from stock email client

I have inherited a phone and would like to put a custom rom on, but before I do, the previous owner would like the emails off it.
The phone (not rooted) is running Lollypop (5.1.1) and the stock email version 8.0 and has nearly 7000 emails that have been pulled down with pop3. The emails are no longer on the server.
I am looking at a way to get these emails off the phone and into a format that I can use elsewhere. The owner of these emails wants them on Outlook ultimately, but I am open to any method such as transfer to IMAP, or import into Thunderbird just to access them off the phone.
I have tried installing an IMAP account alongside, but when trying to move emails I get the message POP emails cannot be moved. I also thought of backing up, but I cannot access the data directory.
Any ideas? Thanks

how to move e-mails received trough POP3 account to a new phone

Hi,
I have 2 xperia phones and I'm using native e-mail client. On the old one I have a POP3 e-mail account. I want to know what possibilities I have to move received e-mails to my new phone.
I can think to try to find where stock e-mail app store the messages and than to copy that file to the same location on the new phone, but I don't know where e-mails are stored
Does anyone know/suggest other way to do it?
Thank you
