I would like to setup an ms exchange sever account, but my phone can not connect to the server. With Touchdown I succed to connect only with Exchange server 2007, but then push email not working. I have to manually refresh my emails. Extra thing is that it does not download pictures and attachments.
With the built in email client does not work.
I think the exchange server does not have a certificate. With Samsung S2 (2.3.6) it was working perfectly. Is it an S3 promblem or is it related to android 4.0.4?
Thanks.
I've got a question, and I'm not entirely sure this is the best place to put it. But here goes.
My company provides email services for several other small companies. This email system allows you to access email using pop3 with Outlook, your mobile phone, or webmail.
We have had no problems with this before when using mobile mail applications. Recently a company we provide services for got all new Samsung GSIIIs.... we've had issues with them since then.
So, for example... one customer has outlook set up with pop3 and also mobile mail set up with pop3. The webmail is also using pop3. So when the mobile device is synced and has all of their messages, I send a test email to the account. If I go to the message on the phone and delete it, it stays on the server and can be accessed on outlook and webmail later on. If i go to the message on webmail and delete it, it deletes off of the phone AND webmail, but not outlook. It will not save an email to the phone,,,, EVER.
It's as if the GSIII is using a mail app that just uses the webmail server settings, and only syncs with the mail server... or something of the sort.
We have it set to keep the message on the server, so that's not the issue.
This ONLY happens on the GSIII, we have tested the same accounts having the issues on iPhones, my droid RAZR, other windows phones... I'm at a wits end on this one.
I've also tried using K-9 mail app, same results.
Hello there,
i am using the Stock E-Mail Client from my Galaxy S3 and now, i want to reset my Phone but there are > 3000 Mails stored in the local Sent-Folder.
I have used SMTP to send Emails, My Mail-Provider and the Stock Email Client doesnt support the Server Side Save of Emails.
Samsung have no Solution in Form of a Backup.
How i can Backup Email-folders, if possible without Root?
Regards
Hello,
I am running stock android version 4.1.2 (rooted with philz safe custom kernel) on my galaxy note gt-n7000. I am unable to setup my corporate email account under Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.
I tried to setup my corporate account on another device and it worked like a charm. No issues at all.
Then i setup my yahoo accounts on my phone. It also worked fine on my phone. I am sending and receiving mail through my phone using yahoo accounts.
I removed unneeded apps like samsung reader hub, mini diary, snote etc I removed all the samsung bloatware. Accidently i removed playstore files and lost my cellphone network as well. But i figured out and restored these apk files. Now the only problem is that i am unable to setup account under microsoft exchange activesync. Could you please let me know what backend files are required for exchange to work properly?
Waiting for response. Do let me know if you want to know anything.
Hi everyone. I have a very, very strange problem.
1) I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 running CyanogenMod 12.1, nightly 12.1-20150915-nightly-klte.
2) I have Android 5.1.1, therefore.
3) I use Gmail, and Yahoo! Mail.
4) My Yahoo! Mail account is accesssed via IMAP, but, weirdly, it appears with the Gmail accounts rather than in a freestanding Email account. I can't remember how I added it, but this is probably "deliberate" (I had more difficult fish to fry at the time!).
5) I changed my password for Yahoo! Mail at least twice on a completely different, and free-standing machine. I had to re-type the password in order to get back in on all other machines (e.g. browser access)
6) Despite this, the Gmail app on my Samsung S5 merrily continues to be able to access my Yahoo! account, even though there is no way it knows the password!!
7) This sounds like it should be impossible. Is it something to do with the frequency with which Yahoo! update IMAP passwords (i.e. maybe they only do it overnight) and so I have to wait 24 hours before my Gmail account / my Samsung s5 is blocked access?
8) When I log into Gmail online I see no evidence of any link to Yahoo!
9)The only clue I have is that when I go to CyanogenMod Accounts, I am not permitted to change the Yahoo! password (it says "Signed in with Yahoo!" and offers no password option in Accounts Settings >> [My Yahoo Account] >> Server Settings > Incoming Mail. The server is stated to be android.imap.mail.yahoo.com
Please help!

I just tried the same thing on a near identically-configured Samsung s3 running CyanogenMod 12.1 and it gives me the option to type a password in in the Incoming email settings, so perhaps it is a feature of the version of CyanogenMod / Android 5.1.1 I am running on the S5?
Fascinating. It is a breach of Yahoo security though - I had to retype the password on the S3, and then it worked!
The S5 just accesses the Yahoo! Mail anyway (and refuses to let you type the password in, even though it has changed - see above).
Surely this exploses a big hole in Yahoo mail's security - no-one should be able to access Yahoo! Mail without a password, yet this configuration on the S5 can!
I have the answer! It is explained fully here on Yahoo! Answers: https://sg.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20151101043604AAIClm6&ap=0&ans_success=1 (by me). Summary: -The problem is that Yahoo! Mail disabled any ability to click-through, in the Account Info screen, to "Manage App and Website Connections". Only there can you prevent the Gmail App in Android from accessing Yahoo! Mail via IMAP. The Gmail App is able to access Yahoo! Mail irrespective of whether or not you have changed the password. The solution is to use the link in your original email from Yahoo to access this, now hidden, page and then de-authorise Gmail if your phone is, for example, stolen.
Given that it took me over a month to find an answer, I hope that this summary will help someone else out in my predicament in the future. Do post and let me know if it has helped you - it will make me feel all warm and fuzzy!

Yahoo mail access from an android email client app
Hi, I am making an email client app, my concern is yahoo is currently with its new security regulation,s not allowing any 3rd party app to access yahoo mails but still Gmail, Outlook and few other android mail clients are still able to fetch yahoo mails. I need to do the same but I don't know How as nothing more and new is documented by yahoo. Moreover when I create my app on yahoo developer page, I do not find mail access scope. So I guess I will not be able to get mails from there.
I dont know why wife's cheat on their husband and vice versa. My mum
cheated on my dad when he was in the military.he hired a hacker and
started getting my mum messages on his phone even when he was in Iraq
and Afghanistan. guess what the hacker was my neighbor. I met him in the
club this evening, gave me his number and told me that anytime I might
need his help tracking my lover's email account, phone number, credit
fraud, erase criminal records and grades e t c.... but I dont think I
can connect with this guy. He made my dad divorce my mum. Maybe he is
wicked , maybe my mum is wicked but wait before you judge my mum, my dad
is not always around and women have needs. I blame the millitary.
