Weird problem with my phone chaps, can you please help?
I can flash CM9 & CM10 with no issues. I can flash it via restore (CWM) or through a wipe.
I can flash CheckROM V4 Via ODIN with no issues, but I am unable to flash anything I download through the kitchen. I get a bootloop or it gets stuck at the Boot up Samsung logo.
Similarly, I am unable to flash any other ROM apart from CM9/CM10 via recovery. It gets stuck at the boot logo. I've wiped all the caches, and even tried to flash checkrom via Odin to see if this resolves the issues, but unfortunately not.
Is this a case of flashing an original Samsung ROM, then re-rooting and starting over?
I will be grateful if anyone can offer some assistance!
Are you doing a full wipe factory reset in recovery before flashing a ROM? you mentioned you wiped cache thats it

Maybe Megawipe or Superwipe script can help. You can try it if you haven't gone with flashing original firmware.

Start by following the instructions in full regarding a wipe first .
That does not work redownload the rom or try another rom .

Thanks mate
so I did a system wipe, then installed a stock ROM, then rooted and the installed Omega ROM and it seems to be working now.
THanks for your help all!
Hi,
I'm on stock rom. But because of flashing a wrong zip (with aosp camera) my phone got into a bootloop. The first time it boots it go's to homescreen right before I have to press my pin. The second boot it doesn't go further than samsung logo. I tried reflashing stock ROM without wipe. Still got the bootloop after that. Is there a way to solve this problem? If not, is there a way to backup my sms and whatsapp in recovery?
Thanks in advance!

Thank you but I flashed the firmware and I still cannot get into recovery mode even after reinstalling clockworkmod recovery
I had installed CM 10.1 (Unofficial) for Galaxy Grand Duos. This one worked fine for me.
After that i i tried to install GENNXT ROM Android 4.2.2 for Grand.I tried wiping cache, data partitons etc. But No effect !!!
when i press the power button, The phone just shows "samsung galaxy grand logo" and reboots ...
Still iam able to revert to the CM 10.1 (Unofficial).
What will be the possible cause for the boot loop after installing GENNXT ROM Android 4.2.2.Please help me.!
For gennxt ROM : you should have android version 4.2.2 and cwm recovery then go to recovery and wipe data then wipe dalvik cache and then format system. Now download the zip from SD card and reboot system.
If it still gets stuck on boot the flash any other firmware

before flashing any rom you have to go back to the stock rom
it is a choice but that's better
from your question I understand that you flashed the new rom over cm 10 may be that's causing the boot problem so first flash the stock and then flash the custom rom you want to install

helo friend wiping data cache and dalvik cache is good
but wiping system?? that will format the rom and you cant boot
after that you will need to reinstall or reflash the rom in order to boot so complete the quotes carefully

Nope!!
Neither of these worked for me!!
What i ve done :
as i mentioned, Installed CWM & installed cynogen mod, Working perfectly.
Then i tried to restore backup of another device(Which is exactly the same model.) but not of the modded phone.which result in boot loop!!
while completing the flashing of stock rom: it confirms that "this will install stock recovery," I confirmed with "Yes"...
But the fact is :i can still flash the cyanogen mod!!
do i ve to use Odin ?
