can you please provide some info about your device, like :
what is the ROM u were using ?
is bootloader locked or unlocked?
was your device rooted ?
---------
what happens when you press power+vol up till single vibration (see any SONY logo ?) , or the phone is not responding to any reset ?
was your phone charged enough ?
if yes,
is your screen alive when you try to start your phone ? (LCD screen hasbacklit LED, is it working ?)

U can try buying or make your own usb jig and force your phone to download mode, from there install your custom/stock rom. You can get your USB jig from ebay it ranges $3-6

if your device was recognized in usb debugging mode with the flashtool, BEFORE the brick ON same win 8.1, then try getting into fastboot mode again. ( for win 8 support : http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-u/issues/guide-to-install-xperia-fastboot-driver-t2447283 )
- start flashtool
- remove phone from other devices. red LED should turn off.
- long press ( ~10sec ) power + vol up to do a hard reset. ( if possible )
- connect using power+vol up
- press 'flash' button, select fastboot.
if above process fails, try checking where or when it failed. try getting any error out of flastool.
-if you hear any sound in windows of " usb plugged in/out "( like plugging pen-drive in ) or flashtool showing any error ( related to drivers )
open device manager, and try connecting again. double click the device in the list when you connect the phone and check for drivers.
you can also try another usb port and/or another windows installation (preferably winXP).
if there is battery problem, u can charge your device for some time (20-30 min). when battery is drained completely, phone cannot boot up kernel and the phone charges in non kernel-governed mode. u see nothing on screen in this process.when battery is charged enough you can try connecting again.
if the phone is not recognized as a usb device to your computer( in any possible way ), then im afraid u might have messed up with the partition or the bootloader.
try getting help form CM11 devs or other devs on this post.
i am not an expert in hardware methods of recovering your device, HOWEVER, if the device somehow gets connected to pc, u may ask for help anytime.

While updating a new Xperia U to ICS the PCC had an error while flashing the new firmware. Now the screen lights up, the sony logo is shown for ~3-5 seconds and then it reboots.
After that I have been unable to get it recognized again by either PCC/SUS or flash tool.
I also checked my log files in Linux and no device appears.
I've tried 3 different machines (2x Windows 8, 1x Win 7), multiple USB ports. Also leaving the battery out for ~30 mins didn't change the behavior.
The green light for download mode comes on, but after about 5 seconds the light goes out and it goes into the boot loop again.
So by now I believe the device needs to be sent in, but maybe some one has a few more things I can try.
Try pressing the volume down plus volume up plus power button all 3 simultaneously till u feel 3 vibrations

Can you make sure the Flashtool drivers are installed ? Go to Flashtool Directory, open drivers directory and start the setup.. Make sure to select the Flashmode and Fastboot drivers are also selected. Then, reboot System and folow this order.
Startt flashtool, select f/w, wait for Flashtool to tell you to connect to device. Then, holding the Volume down button (while phone is switched off), plug the cable into phone (The usb cable must already be connected to PC before starting the Flash Procedure )
The Order is very important.. I had same issue with U (althoguh mine crashed with Flashtool and same as what you observed. When I followed this order, I was able to get it detected and flashed )
Hopefully, you wont need to return to Service Center

No response, I've tried holding all three buttons for a minute, but it doesn't vibrate after turning on. The only way I can turn it off is by removing the battery.

I tried that right now, Flashmode and Fastboot drivers are installed. Flash tool is ready, device is plugged in with volume down pressed, green light comes on. Nothing is found on the PC, after about 5 seconds the green light turns off and the phone shows the sony logo. Green light also comes on if i simply plug in the usb without volume down pressed. So I'm thinking, the download mode has some how been corrupted?

Make sure when u connect ur cell to ur pc u have nt presed the power key
keep the phone off
Press the volume down button ( keep it pressed, dun
leave it) and connect it to the usb
U will see green light

I'm in the exactly same situation... Any help is welcome...
While trying to enter flashmode, green light turns on but after some secs it turns off and sony logo appears on screen. any chance to recover this beautiful brick ?
thanks
After several tries (a lot of...) I manage to enter flashmode and SUS is now reinstalling sony ROM.
Honestly I donĀ“t know how it works this time and not the others but i'm happy with it independently of what happens.
... seems flashtool is detecting ur phone try to flash first the stock kernel and do not wipe everything it shud be in timing though.. onces it is flash charge ur phone in kernel mode (phone is off) then you can flash the stock fw of ur XU.

I bricked my xperia U as well... When i tried to power ON, it just vibrates and nothing happens, i dont even get the sony logo. When i get into flash boot mode it gets connected but after 20secs, the phone turns off again. Only fastboot mode stays on. How can i unbrick my phone??? Plz help. No worries. The phone turns off because it doesn't receive any signal from the PC - many people make the mistake of connecting the device in flashmode first, and then they start the flashtool etc.
Instead, load the flashtool first, go to flashmode, select a complete/full stock ftf for your phone (whichever version you want, but do double check if the ftf has kernel.sin file in it) and press the flash button. Only once you get the pop up with the animation telling you to connect the phone in flash mode, connect the phone in flashmode (volume - button pressed when connecting cable). As soon as you connect the phone, the flashtool will start its magic and your phone won't turn off.
if you can go in cwm wipe system then you will only be stuck on sony logo then use this guide http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPPWRXcsz7g.....it will work because this same happened to me and i fixed it with this method!

Try that:

4. Hold volume down and while holding volume down connect it to your PC. Just press volume down and connect.
5. Now the green led should light up and you are able to reflash the stock rom

But does it enter fastboot mode? This is done by holding VOL + while powering on or connecting your phone to the computer, you'll know you entered fastboot when the notification led turns blue if not there is not much you can do by yourself to fix your phone.

your technican is dumb. it it was a SW problem u can be fixed....
BUT if u cant: enter fastboot mode (blue led while phone OFF); flashmode (same with green led), i would say its a hard brick = no way to get workin (probably...)
Q: did u tried charge bazttery on other phone + and enter CWM ??? if not its a brick
same here
i have same problem with my cell wt19i and its still dead.
i hve tried everything to resurrect it bt no luck...so i got new one
and one thing i can tell u is try jtag cable to flash your cell and try to connect to pc.
go to some repairing center and tell them cell is dead but i want to flash it.
my problem was i tried to unlock with test point (most risky way) to unlock bootloader.
and it burst power ic which cannot be replaced.
so be sure what problem your cell exactly has.
My wt19i can't connect with flashmode
I installed a cyanogenmod 11 custom rom,after that i can't flash using flashtool,It can't connect flashmode,I connected to pc pressing vol- button

Bit more detail how you bricked it installing CWM. What exactly you done and where you get it from.
Try to shut it down, press power + volume up untill you feel (1+) 3 vibrations.
See if you can connect it in flash mode (connect usb to pc while you hold volue down), the led should turn green.

Well.... I was trying to install the new CM 11 Nightly Build - a custom ROM build on Android 4.4.2 KitKat- on my Sony Xperia P device
I had rooted succesfully and was seaching for an app on google play store to provide access to "recovery mode" that works with my LT 22i to finish the installation of this new rom... i tryed lot of apps, but no one worked... and so I've found this app "Recover X" from LEDelete developer.
after install and run, this app show me one option to get access to recovery mode... i dont remember exactly, but i saw somethig like "CMW......" on screen. after download, I tryed to reboot my phone and then its completly dead!! i'd tryed any kind of possibility pressing buttons dowloading softwares and more but my computers didn't recongize it when connect USB cable...
vol+ / power dont work, vol- / usb dont work, no charging indicator, no lights blinks, nothing works! it looks like a motherboard without any operational system...
And I saw in some websites that exist one JIG for Samsung devices that alows recovery phones with problems like mine... so i wonder if is possible to find some JIG for Xperia P or any other possibility of reinstallation of android system
I hope i made myself clear because I'm still learning this language... that means I'm sorry for my bad english in advice...
If there is anything that you can't understand, please let me know
Thank's a lot!
Alex
If you had asked before I would have told you Recovery X won't work, didn't work the 2 times I have tried it, but didn't brick my phone eithr.
To incatal CM you didn't neet to root or install CWM since you need to flash it's kernel anyway.
Is your bootloader unlocked?
Was the phone fully charged when it happened, did it start boot and then died or just went black?
Have you tried to hold the power + volume up for 10-15 minutes?
To reinstall firmware you need flash mode (volume down while connecting to USB), have you flashed with flashtool or PC Companion before?

Yes i had reinstalled twice by flash tool and pc companion, holding vol down while connecting to USB, because the device was with very low performance.
When i was trying to get rebooted on "recovery mode" before the black screen, my battery was on 85%....
Yesterday i tried to do "hard reboot" holding the power + volume up for 50 minutes and nothing....
Actually what i really need is find a way to get some response of the system of this phone (by connecting in some jig, or doing something with the software or even the hardware...), because if my computer recognize the phone, i do believe that i'll can handle with reinstallation... in other words, my challenge now it's only get out from the black screen for any other operational response
One of my ideas is unmount rear cover and try to disconnect the battery cord for 10 minutes and see if something changes... but i'm fully opened to new ideas
I really believe that i'll succeed on this case with yours precious help!!

Hello guys. This is my problem with Xperia P.I tried to update CWM from 6.0.1.2 to 6.0.3.0 in hope that I will get rid of that status error 7 when trying to install CM 11.Ok so what I did:i downloaded an update for CWM in zip format,i transferred the zip files to my xperia p internal storage then disconnected the phone from pc,then I booted the phone In CWM and from there I tried to update CWM by selectin install from zip sd card the zip archive. It said It was succesfull then asked for reboot and that was. After that the phone gone dead,no response from it even when I tried to power it on or to reset it by key combinations nothing worked.Even when I plugged it on charger nothing or in my pc usb.So when this happened my phone was rooted/unlocked bootloader and running latest JB build 6.1.2.A.100.So what I tried so far:i plugged it in wall charger for 6+ hours in hope I will get a life sign from it and nothing. Then I tried to disconnect its battery,i know its non removable but it has a cord attached that can be detached and I did it for about 5 mins. After that I reconnect the battery and plugged it in.Well I got a solid red led on it and I thought oh well it seems it worked but after exactly 15mins the red led goes out and nothing happens after it.At the moment I am writing this the phone already is dead by 24 hrs+.And yea I tried to connect it in flash mode for flashtool but not a sign at all.My pc doesn't detects it.So is there any hope left for my phone? If so please give more solutions.Oh and another thing it seems that after the red light goes off after 15 mins and I unplug it from charger and reconnect it the red led comes again and the process can be repeated. So should I try this way to charge it until it has enough power to do some responses?

I am running Windows 7 and the bootloader is unlocked. Also I cant use flashtool or any software from pc because the phone it doesn't get detected. But if I plugged it on pc USB it does give a red light for exactly 14 mins then the red led goes off. Also any key pressing or key combinations doesn't help as I don't get any response from phone. So I am really sure its hard brick.Only sign from it is the red led that goes off after 14 mins.
So anymore ideas?Does my phone was hard resetted after I detached the battery for 5 mins and then reattached it?Because before this I didn't got the red led.And also should I try to recharge my phone by pluggin in it in charger wait 14 mins till red led gets off then repeat this process?

And how I am supposed to turn phone off when I get no sign from it when I am pressing volume or power keys. The only sign I get is the red led that after 14 mins goes off.Yea I flashed/updated a wrong CWM for my phone. And how that could screw my phone that bad I don't have any idea.
Just remove the battery chord from the battery (not the charger chord). This means, your phone is in turn off mode. Then reconnect it. Then try those flashmode combinations.
And for any further status 7 issues refer to my guide. Link is in my signature

its not hard brick ... in hard brick you don't even get to see the red led ..... this is a basic soft brick because he flashed incompatible kernel which failed bootloader test and hence he is getting this red led .... hard brick = phone becomes paperweight with no led or anything working ....... even charging which does in his case ....... he is just unable to turn on flashmode , (typical case with new users), even i also flashed wrong kernel on my xgo (u cannot even remove battery in that) , i just waited for red led to shut down then holding volume down and then plugging in usb i was able to get flashmode

first remove battery cable for 3-5 mins then reconnect it ...... don't touch the power button ... hold the volume button down.. while holding it down insert usb cable .... (give it 2-6 seconds and DONT LEAVE THE VOLUME DOWN BUTTON )the led should now turn on and glow green (flashmode enabled , u shud know the rest i think) don't check if pc detecting or not just check LED green or not first

I don't have anymore warranty left.So I think they will charge me for this.Maybe if I will let the phone more time in charger or with the bat cord detached/unplugged from charger/pc and after that trying again?

if you can try using those "butterfly chargers" , the ones which directly charge battery..... then try this approach cuz flashmode needs 30% battery minimum to run , 75% is recommended

phone is not detected on pc and can't start phone in fast or flashboot, the LED turns green for 1 or 2 sec than turns red then the phone start (sony logo then black screen)
Then install drivers again
Install those from flashtool\drivers folder choose the ones for xperia u,p,sola,go and last 2 optins also, thats fastboot and flash drivers.
Open flashtool and try plug phone in fastboot mode, watch the led, if it start booting remove phone and watch right down on your pc screen to see if its installing. When it finish try again.
This is 99% of these problems...

yes do as said on above post. it couldnt be a hard brick. AFAIK hard bricks only occur if you flash something not meant for your device. except in Z series.

What windows versioon do you have?
Force power off, press power + volume up untill you feel (1+) 3 vibrations and try.
Try fastboot too and see if there is anything in flashtool log.

You had fastboot/flash mode working before and now they don't?
Do you feel the 3 vibrations?
Is it charging when pluged to cahrger when off, or even with sony logo?

I don't understand?! I can't go in flashboot mode, how can I flash with stock firmware ? and does stock firmware means the factory one?
if the led is turning green it means you can. but if you dont immeadiately flash stock firmware. it will boot. so you need to prepare stock ftf firmware for your device, choose it, wait for flashtool to tell you to connect your phone in flashmode. then connect your phone in flashmode

Yes it's a problem, but I've seen a few that have managed to fix it by disconnecting the battery.

Nope, u need to open it and disconnect it
You dont need disconnect anything. Your phone is not bricked, its working. The only problem is your drivers, you have to manage install them and it will work. This has been here thousand times.
