Yeah like this.

thanks for this.

When I first got my M8, the AT&T and normal Cricket settings did not work. Not sure how I found these, but they work flawlessly. If anyone is having Cricket issues with MMS in particular, try these.

Help with MMS Picture messages.

Hi, I have had my Hero now for 4 weeks and have been very happy with it apart from the bluetooth issue, I have updated it to the latest rom with no problems. Today for the first time I needed to send a picture message to a friend and discovered that they will not send. I contacted Vodafone Customer services who were no help at all because phone is not supported. I did a search to check if the right settings are in place and as far as I can see they are. I got a friend to send me a picture message to see if it would arrive, it arrived but came as a download format which after downloaded shows as a slideshow with just one slide. Is this the normal way a picture message arrives on the Hero or am i missing something in the settings. Any help would be very much appreciated to help with the sending and receiving of pictures messages.
It should display like this. I'm on O2 and it automatically downloaded the mms server settings when I turned the phone on

Thanks, yes thats the way it arrives, I have just discoverd something very weird, I turned on my wifi to do some stuff and all the picture messages were sent out. Im not sure why this is happening but it seems that if the phone is connected to wifi then my picture messages are going out but wont send on the mobile network alone. Very strange.

Yup. sounds about right. I'm on o2 and I have to disconnect my mobile internet to send/receive MMS messages, stupid!
I don't have to do this, PM me your MMS settings and i'll compare them to mine.
have you guys gotten around the user-agent based problem where O2 resizes all incoming mms to 160x120?
It's infuriating
Strange, I have to turn off my WiFi to send them. Lol.

No not yet, I did try bypassing O2's proxy by using the bypass username but that seemed to stop the messages being delivered properly and I was getting the same effect as belfastbob, where you have do download them manually (and then that didn't even work!)
Back to square one now. Not sure what to do

Yeah I used the bypass proxy and whilst it worked occasionally (and at much higher speeds than I normally get too), it caused all manner of problems with accessing mobile web
I think there are only two ways to get around this:
Hack the htc message app to provide a fake user agent
or
Phone O2 customer service a lot and complain until they get off their dumb asses and add a filter in their mms servers to recognise the hero (probably a 2 minute job)
I haven't phoned yet, but I plan on doing that tomorrow.

I assume you know why they are grainy? (and are putting up with it so you can get MMS)
How massively irritating... after updating to the new ROM I have to turn off mobile internet to send MMS messages too. Arrrrgh!!
FIXED!!!
I wrote over the ROM with the original, unedited 2.73.405.5 ROM provided by Modaco
Forgot to do a wipe, but all seems ok
Still using the same updated radio (63.18.55.06EU_6.35.06.18)
Can now send MMS without having to disable mobile data
(Still low resolution due to O2, but other networks should be fine)
Just an update for those interested... I rang O2 about the small MMS images, and got quite a helpful chap who emailed the customer feedback team about getting the Hero's credentials inputted onto the O2 MMS server.
I don't live in hope of a fix for this yet, but if enough O2 Hero users tell them about the problem, hopefully they will do something about it. It can't be a difficult or time comsuming job surely...
Hi Kadison, I took your advise and installed the Generic 2.73.405.5 enhansted rom and as like yourself I can now sent and receive mms picture messages as per nomal. I glad that this has sorted the matter out but I hope that paul will have a look at this as I really liked using the 2.2 rom. So much for thinking that it was a vodafone problem.

thank you every1 for your help.
using the above sttings i have finally got the mms to work. however i do have to stop normal data and then download mms and the re activate the data. got a widget set-up on home page to do this. same for when sending. need o2 to sort out the 2kb receiving now
and also anyway we can send larger pics. currently hero re sizes/compresses to around 25k. we have up to 300k to send. seems just unfair
wonder if paul at modaco.com can, in any way, address these issue in next rom updates?
that's both for higher sending pic size and also receiving. we need to spoof o2 in believing we have another phone supported by them like xda orbit 2 and not a htc hero
I can receive mms but there is a download button in the mms... once i click on it, it downloads it but i dont know where it is stored... help

[UPDATED 5/22][AT&T DATA FIX] AT&T's HSPA+ APN's

My First Guide!
Flashable Zips at the bottom!
Okay, so i have seen a post claiming to fix the APN settings, however this is the only true one i have found (credits to shoman for these, i picked them out of his rom!).
it is pretty self explanatory, any field that requires you to put something in it has something in it, otherwise it has a -. underlined means that it is a new apn (settings->more->mobile networks->access point names->"menu" button->new apn)
MAKE SURE YOU SAVE THEM!!
Code:

then, once all of these have been entered, make sure that the one labeled "ATT PHONE" has the tick to the right of the name filled in (this is your default!) reply with any questions and i will try my best to help!
MIUI currently will not send MMS with these settings. Looking for a solution!
EDIT: Some ROMs require you to flash your modem manually!

There's a typo in your MMS settings. The MMSC should read http://mmsc.cingular.com.

I'm assuming this is for ICS? I'm on a stock rom and don't have the option to add anything under APN. ):

Yea, Gingerbread must be different. That's ok because what ever APN settings Ryude is using in UnOriginal works just fine. Though coming from an iPhone 4s, data speeds on the GSII are faster when your closer to the tower. I was able to get faster speeds with 2-3 bars on the 4s. Oh well. Uploads speeds don't seem as great on the GSII. With the 4s I could get 7 down and 4 up. See my attachment for GSII results.

Can't send or receive mms or group messages

Hey guys, did a bit of searching, found some similar issues, but no fixes or anything.
My HTC one cannot send or receive any mms messages or group messages, I always get an error after some time saying "generic network failure"
I get a poor signal on lte, around -91dBm. I tried switching to gsm only from lte. It worked until I rebooted my phone, it reverted back to lte.
This happened on stock, before I even rooted or unlocked the boot loader, as well as any roms I've tried.
My current rom, clean rom 2.0, doesn't have the option under mobile data in settings to even switch network modes. I installed an app called phone info to switch to gsm only, but it didn't fix the issue, and reverted back to lte on reboot.
Anyone have anything to offer on a possible fix? I've tried multiple roms with the same result. Could something be wrong with my radio?
Thanks!

Just an update, I've got 4 bars, yet my signal seems pretty weak at -93 dBm. I should still be able to send/receive mms with a weak signal, correct?

I don't know what it came with stock, what you name it doesn't matter, it's just a name. The settings are what count. These are the settings I always use when the ROM I'm using doesn't have the apn set.

I'm not referring to the name field, I'm referring to the APN field. The stock APN on their 2 newest LTE phones (HTC One and Galaxy S4) is using phone instead of pta.

admin and fota (firmware over the air) aren't needed for custom ROMs since we don't need or want AT&T administering our phones or pushing updates to us. Name is irrelevant as you said. pta works fine though for now.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro Kenzo 4G LTE settings for T-Mobile USA

Hi
I just received my Kenzo today but was only getting H+ and I definitely seen Band 4(1700/2100) LTE on spec sheets. I would like to have band 12(700) but I lived without it on my ZF2.
On the device I think it has the Global ROM as it had google apps etc. I updated latest OTA update.
I added an extra APN (you could probably modify the existing T-Mobile "epc.tmobile.com")
Go to : Settings > SIM cards & Mobile Networks > Select SIM 1 1-xxx-xxx-xxxx > Access Point Names > + New APN
Name: T-Mobile US LTE
APN: fast.t-mobile.com

Save these settings and select as default APN.
I will be testing as not every location has good LTE speeds but it works. :highfive:

Edit: default apn settings now working for 4g.
This is great news but I'm out of the country and have a few questions:
1) Where did you buy your phone?
2) Can you confirm your ROM please?
3) See pic below and notice settings are different with no mcc etc. I know we need to change to fast.tmobile for 4G though.
4) What are the standard vpn settings you refer to in your last post? Like what shows up first without modifications.
If this works for me too I'll be in heaven because this phone is sweet when taking price, performance and epic battery life into account.
Bought from GeekBuying in China.
Popping the SIM in worked giving H+ so it had preconfigured settings.
Tried the standard config over the manual entry and 4g worked.
I updated to available OTA update.
Find build attached.
Had Google apps pre-installed.
Thanks

Thanks for posting this. I recently got this to work as well and finally committed to cutting over to the phone today after getting the ROM set up and apps copied over.
I am having an issue however, I use Textra for messaging and I just realized that I can send mms but when I receive them the miui messaging app grabs them and they never make it to Textra.
Any thoughts or suggestions?;

Any idea , on your bill, what is your exact rate plan?? How is it listed on the bill?

I use a TRACFONE SIM on ATT 5G network.
This allows me to link to my ATT phone (to give me voice dialing and messages) along with TRACFONE text messages.
