The Walking Dead: Seasone One - Sound issues on SIII - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey!
For some days The Walking Dead from Telltale is finally on Android and I wanted to play, but... I had sound issues.
Do you experienced any sound problems in this game on our device? Currently I'm on CM11 with Boeffla 2.2. Maybe this game isn't supporting Android 4.4 at all?

Any updates on the audio problem that crashes games?

I recently installed Star Legends in my galaxy s2 (great game btw, try it) the problem is every now and then the game just freezes and crashes back to main screen. This would be annoying in any game but it is specialy annoying in a MMO like star legends because it kicks you out of the current session and you cant go back in to the same one it seems.
I did some searching and I found out that the galaxy s2 (and maybe dual core phones in general) have some problem with the way the audio is implemented by samsung or something that makes it crash. So far the guys who make star legends have pretty much said that they dont have an S2 at the moment and wont be fixing it until they get one and see if they can.. and that samsung should fix that on their part.
I am using the latest villain rom with the latest Ninphetamine kernell (2.05) and everything else works so good it is not even funny, this phone is the best phone in the planet by far except for this little bug that really gets on my nerves.
Is there any alternate fix for this? Thanks! (I already tried lowering the volume and dissabling sound in the game completly, it still crashes from time to time)
Guess not
I'm curious as well.
I have the audio crash problem with Cut the Rope and HexDefense.
ZDefense automatically disables the audio because I have an S2.
You can keep track on the (lack of) progress here.

[Q] 101 g9 turbo sound issues?

Does anyone else have the problem in games of background music cutting out when sound is played? Happens in ffiii and great little war game. Gta3 seems fine. Running clean & fast 4.0.25. Happened in older firmware too
I have this problem too. And it is very annoying...
In the World of Goo game it plays background music, but when another sound effects appears - sound breaks for a length of sound effect time.
confirmed from the german archos forum too... problems with Asphalt HD, Spiderman HD and others.
greetings AOD
Strange that it hasn't been mentioned much on here.... irritating as hell
Even when music players plays music and you're typing on stock keyboard - there the same problem.
I noticed this issue pop up after the migration to the latest kernel version (3.0.21) in fw 4.0.24 and 4.0.25 (both official and surdu's mods). The Bard's Tale is affected, as are some other games ( Devil's Attorney also).
The sound begins to play, and then it cuts out.

The issue is not low sound level, the issue is sound cutting out after a few moments (less than a second).
I've noticed the same thing especially in Bards Tale, I get the first second or less of the dialog then it goes silent (background music stays) also no sound effects in chaos rings.. This is really starting to get very annoying any found a work around?
Sent from my ARCHOS 101G9 using xda app-developers app

I think it's related to the updated kernel present in 4.0.24 and 4.0.25. The games that are affected are primarily direct ports from other platforms, and I think they rely extensively on their game engines written in native code and directly ported to Android.

[Q] I9100 AOSP NeatROM 2.5 Music Player Issues

About 1 month ago I flashed Sale's NeatRom v5.42 and the Apollo Regular Kernel . It was a great rom, mostly because of its smothness and the battry drain (it drains less than the half of my stock ROM I9100LSD). One week ago I thought "Why don't try KitKat?". So I flashed the latest AOSP NeatROM and the correct Apollo Kernel. I also like this ROM, but I have some issues considering music playing with my smartphone. I've tried three apps (Google PlayMusic, RocketPlayer and finally now Apollo), but they don't solve it.
Music playing drains a lot more batttery than before.
When acitivating the screen while listening to music, sometimes the sound stutters.
Randomly the music player app seems to hang when a new song starts. Only after a reboot can listen again to music.
The first two points are only peanuts, but the last point is really annoiying.
I assume the only way is reflashing a stock based ROM, isn't it?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, the music player getting stuck is a known issue with KK roms for now, but its a random one.
U can try moving all ur music files on to ur Internal Sdcard (11.5gb one) and then try and also check the above with the stock kernel
Well, i have no external SD card (11,5 GB internal should be enough for my mp3's).
I've switch to the latest stock based NeatRom and stay there until this issue is resovled, but I miss the dashclock and DSP-Manager. Will this issue will be ever resolved? I cant't believe that bugs bugs are neglected in the develepment thread ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50067179&postcount=2379 ), but I'm now allowed to post there because of I've just registerd because of this issue. It would be great, if someone can make a statement that there are bugs. Either they should be fixed or the user should be informed that there are known issues with KitKat ROMs (that maybe cant't be resolved considering to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2612329). I would suggest that a moderator make a sticky. I don't want to attack the developers for their hard and volenteer work, but make suggestions.
OT question: Is my assume right that stock based ROMs are the most reliable beacause they are best optimized for the hardware?
So enough questions and reproaches. I'm proud that so many developers care about our almost three years old device.

Note 2 w/ 5.1.1 Audio problem in most games

I have a Note 2 running wilsonq3 ROM cm12.1 Android 5.1.1
I have the same issue with all the cm12.1 and cm13 Roms where most games have a serious audio issue where the audio seems to play slow, crackles, and cuts out. Almost sounds like a buffer issue or sample mismatch like playing 48k audio at 44k.
Has anyone experienced this or know what the issue is? Only happens in games and most games do it but not all. Pretty much any cool game I want to play does it like VR games.
I'm thinking maybe replacing a system file like audio driver file would fix it? Any ideas?

Bluetooth audio lag in games

Hello there,
I'm encountering some problems with my bluetooth headphones when I start games. As long as I'm using Spotify, Youtube etc. everything works fine, but in games I have like 0.7 to 1 second audio lag. It always occurs, no matter if I've also connected my BT gamepad or not.
What I'm using:
Device: bq Aquaris X Pro 4gb/64gb
Android: 7.1.1
Baseband-Version: 1-00333-8953_GEN_PACK-1.110987.1
Kernel-Version:
3.18.31-perf-g23e2fe9
[email protected] #1
Fri Nov 10 09:54:40 CET 2017
Build-Number: 1.5.1_20171110-0910
Additional info: Unlocked Bootloader, rooted (Magisk 15.3 (5.5.5))
Bluetooth headphones: Teufel Move BT (Bluetooth 4.0 + apt-x)
Bluetooth gamepad: Stoga STM01 (Bluetooth 3.0, also known as iPega BTC-938)
What I already tried:
- Reconnecting all devices
- Resetting all devices
- Reinstalling Games / Software
- Testing audio-altering software, just in case it'd change anything
- Deactivating any other connections beside bluetooth
- Uninstalling any app that could cause those problems, like antivirus
- Checking CPU Load (~25% in games) and RAM usage (never completely full)
- Fiddling around with audio options - doesn't change anything
- Looking up if it's a buffering problem (didn't find any information)
A kinda interesting observation I made is that the lag seems to only occure when he got (game-)footage to render. There isn't even any audio lag in the Rockstar logo video when I start GTA 3, but it starts when I load my savegame. Doesn't have to be 3D though, it happens with GTA 3 as well as Angry Birds or PPSSPP, ePSXe or any other emulator I got.
The bug probably was always there, I just happen to notice it now because it's the first time I got a smartphone strong enough for something I'd call a "fully fledged game".
A friend told me it's maybe a known problem with the Android 7 stock ROM, but since the internet is full of bluetooth problems on android I'm not sure about that. I would've tried a custom rom, but there isn't any rom for the Aquaris X Pro yet (even though there's a team working on a Linelage OS 15 port). Just buying cheap headphones to play with isn't a real option, since I'd also need a new gamepad (my current one blocks the audio port), and I'd be forced to always change to crappy sound when I want to play a game (The Teufel Move BT are really high quality).
There's actually an open beta programm for Android 8 Oreo for my device, but I don't really want to unroot (Some apps I regularly use need it) and accept all the telemetry....
Created a logcat file (search term "bluetooth"). Just connected the devices, moved around a bit in two apps with BT lag, and disconnected them again.

Anyone got an idea how to fix this?
Greetings,
Serry
I have the same issue on my Galaxy S9+. Same lag value in games only. It seems like Android bug and can't be fixed by users unless they deploy a fix.

Same problem on Note8 (Exynos), while on games only with powerbeats 2.
same happen in note9 (exynos) while on games only with oneplusBullet wireless
It's an AOSP issue and it makes me frustrated that no body report the issue to Google itself. It's been years man!
OEM roms like oxygen os and one UI have fixed this issue but the problem is that they have closed sources for their oos and one UI... It's an issue deep within the aosp code... And will continue to occur in all aosp roms ?
We should ask Google to fix their aosp for this!
