Hello everyone, I have a Verizon HTC One Max and am planning to change carriers to Sprint. I've read that the Verizon Max is sim unlocked but everyone only mentions using it on GSM. Am I able to use a Sprint sim card in my Max or do I need to buy Sprints version?

Hi
I have a quick question: I currently own an Epic 4G which I am planning to sell and buy a Motorola Photon 4G to replace it. Since this phone is a Global Phone, do I need to get a sim card from Sprint in order to use/activate it? Or is the sim card "optional"
Thanks in advance!
The sim card comes with the Photon from sprint at no charge
The sim allows for global roaming and charges will come On your sprint bill
You can get a prepaid sim while traveling internationally as the phone is unlocked globally but not domestically

Thanks turns out that it can be unlocked and used in canada (had to speak to sprint international support for the code)
Ok I'm not a total Noob but if anyone can answer this question for me I'd be grateful.
Can I use a phone on at&t that is not offered by at&t, such as an eve from Sprint or a Droid x from version or a thunderbolt or the new Motorola razor!
At&t uses GSM which uses sim cards. Verizon and Sprint use CDMA which is a different technology. Sometimes phones will be global and have both CDMA and a GSM sim slot. My Droid 3 is global but Verizon locks US GSM carriers.
So basic if it has a sin slot and I can root it then yes, otherwise no
AT&T is now offering LTE on their prepaid gophone plans. I have a T-mobile HTC One and wanted to take advantage of this. I got it unlocked, paid my $60 and connected to AT&T just fine, but I'm not getting LTE.
I've searched. I know it used to be the case that you could only get LTE on an AT&T branded phone (maybe also unbranded ones?). I assumed with the new plans they'd let anyone hop on LTE.
Anyone know what to do? Is this one of those "borrow an IMEI" situations?
T mobile uses a different band for their LTE so you would need an ATT branded phone if you wanted to get LTE.

I recently purchased this unit from an online dealer who claimed it would connect into my AT&T LTE network. It does not even with a new AT&T sim card, the best speed is less than a 3G performance.
Any thoughts, ideas, comments help??
It's unlocked? Did you try different radios? This is why I buy carrier phones and use that carrier. All the people that buy phones and unlock always have problems. Every day there's a new thread or two. Lol

I currently have a sprint HTC One max, rooted and s-off'ed. I am going to get the same exact phone from verizon. I was wondering if there is any difference between the Sprint HTC One Max and the Verizon HTC One Max. Or are they the exact same phone, just different carriers.

You sre right . They are same phone with different carriers. But the verizon one comes sim unlocked..
Is it possible to sim unlock the sprint version without rooting? Like one of those unlocking companies online. I'd love to buy a Verizon version for use on att but I find the sprint version so much cheaper on the used market. Anyone know? OP what are you doing with your spring t version?

They are not the same hardware. Verizon version has two bands sprint does not. Also you cannot use one on the other because cdma carriers lock their network down.
