I am not new to putting ROMs on Android devices but haven't rooted my AT&T Note.
With nothing even being scheduled for release and June passing and now Jelly Bean already released, I am declaring my independence on this day and root and flash my phone.
Do any of the ROMs have the Samsung note ICS set of new tools like the YouTube video? Do any have nfc built in?
Thanks for the advice!
Steve

If you are familiar with flashing ROM's, then I'm sure you know that most Dev's post screen shots, sometimes video reviews, and detailed descriptions of what their ROM's have and don't have, what's working and not working.
It's hard for the general public to know what your exact taste is right? To each their own, as I always say.
Grab a beer, and start searching and reading through the Dev section. I'm sure you'll settle on at least one, if not two or three that you will want to try. I am currently flipping through 3 different ROMs. Backing up, and restoring each different one daily, playing around.
Seek, and ye shall find. Happy hunting!

Team Perfection UCLF5
Here is a link to my daily driver. I am new to flashing and have tried several of the ICS versions in the development forum but Team Perfections UCLF5 is my favorite. All developers have very clear instructions on flashing ROMS and usually post them on the 1st page of the thread. This ROM is very stable and has very few issues.
I recomend trying all of the ICS mods located on the the first page of the development forum.
Here is a link to my daily driver:

Good luck and happy flashing!!!!

Thanks all.
You have been informative, kind and sagely without being jerks.
Very rare on the Internet and should be praised!
I think my Tapatalk is not showing links, I will check this conversation on my PC.
Thanks,

Hotwire's CM9 port is my favorite.

I've been using the semi-official leaks, currently using UCLF5 - it appears to have NFC built in, but i have no way of testing it. There's an option under wireless and networks to enable NFC, and it lets me turn it on and off.
I am on flap latest rom of UCLF5. Fantastic rom and it's been daily driver. Crazy smooth and NFC built in but I have no way of testing it unfortunately.
Each ICS rom is different and unique in their own way. Flash away and find out which one suits you.
I've used a number of ICS roms since they've been available.
Flap's was good up to B5. OnlyOne's is great. Hotwire's I couldn't get to sit right. Dagr8's AOKP/PA wouldn't sit right.
But CalcProgrammer1's direct port of CM9 nightlies is where it's at for me.
And NFC is built in to the rom and works perfectly.

Actually nothing funny abt it..will maybe a lil...but as to a seasoned individual they would then go to a pc, knowing they will need to use a pc to accomplish what they need/want to do, and if they could accomplish via the phone/tappy...they wouldn't be asking the question in the first place....ha ha ha... But thx for your attention to some what of a lack of detail... ...but why would this comment from you even be....? No worries... op did say "declaring my independence on this day and root and flash my phone."...unless you know a way to do this with the pc...I am all eyeballs and ears....
Btw the reason i have the links on my signature are there to help/assist...if you found them useful...great, if not well...great again.

Goldie is my daily driver, it has touchwiz 3 which is pretty smooth, lag free, beats audio works well on it too, one of the only rom it works on from my testing.
Just pick any of them, they are all based off the same rom and all have the same tweaks.

hyfr is far the best but looks too much like GB. I like seraphim mesophere but it lacks full spen utility. IE you cant use spen snap shot amongst others. Im sure they may add it later when at&t kernel source is out but dman said it isnt a priority.

Some are using the same base for there rom, but they all don't have the same tweaks.
Jus sayin.
I know I am missing something obvious but that's newbism for you...I have been reading through the discriptions of various ROMs, I don't see any that specifically say they include the new sPen Samsung utlilities. Do all of them or is there a Note subset?
Still trying to find the right ICS ROM, all of them report that I will lose s-pen sensativity and none seem to have the s-pen ICS suite. I need both really.
Any ROM recommendations that will give me s-pen pressure, suite and NFC?
Thanks!
What's the most "stable" JB rom on here...preferably 4.2 because I wanted the newer version of the keyboard with emoji's anyone know?
They are in Original Development
Classic. Seems to be more and more of these threads as time passes. Feel free to turn yourself into a flash-o-holic. Its rather fun But the latest CM10.1 is incredible. Carbon is very nice as well but I wasn't digging the screen tearing.

If you searched you would see threads like these get closed.
Take some time and read in the dev section and see what suits your needs the best. Then flash and try them out.

My understanding is that Android Development is modification of TouchWiz based ROMs and Original is anything that wouldn't fall under that category such as AOSP ROMs, custom Kernels, etc.

Original is for original work. Regular is for any modified, ported, tweaked, themed work.

This is how I see it as well. I was confused for quite some time until I finally realized the difference
You guys aren't getting it. The regular development isn't just for touchwiz ROMs. It's also for ports or additional work to roms that the dev didn't do THE ORIGINAL work to.
If it's not new or ground breaking or an original piece of work it doesn't belong in original.

No, the developer only section is for developers only.
To be fair though, only people actively developing should be making new threads in either of the development sections.
Just curious as of 2-18-2014, which ROMs are best with the D803 variant?
AOSP or flex?

Between AOSP/AOSB and Flex/Stock I have to go with Flex/Stock, I prefer having a feel other than Android OS, to me it is very basic, but very functional, I guess I like having all the goods that come with Flex/Stock ROM.
I have to choose the Flex/Stock for all the apps that comes with it as long as it is debloated, but I can get rid of the bloat with a few apps.
I have been on AeonFlex 3 for a while and wanting to migrate but which ones are compatible?

I have been bouncing back and forth between stock and AOSP, then tried a few flex rom.... I finally settled on Aeonflex too.
Coming from the Note 2 and beanstalk 4.4, Aeonflex Has what I was looking for, dark UI and stock apps.
1. A question should have been asking in Q&A sub-section, not in General.
2. I believe it is against the XDA rules to ask "which is best ROM"
Just give you a head up.

☢ [ROM][4.4.2][NC2/NC4] *** Got bigginsROM? V5 ***[6/26/14] ☢ I have to say is the best ROM for a Rooted Verizon Note 3. I have tried all ROMs that are stable and form Battery Life to the Visuals, hands down BIGGINS know what he is doing. Keep up the great work and hope to see what's coming in the future. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2733275 . In know way at all was I told or even contacted to post this. I just wanted to help anyone out there that was wondering what ROM to choose. Enjoy it as much as I do.
I agree Biggins rom being a top contender along with Baja's rom. Rite now i'm running Biggins V5 and patently waiting for Baja's and sbreen94 next build. I used Hyperdrive has a daily driver on my S3 and for a long while on my N3. All great developers. Much respect
I totally agree that Baja and Hyperdrive are great ROMs and developers. Many thanks to all their hard work. I had Hyperdrive as my daily driver for a while. As of now, I am loving Biggins V5. Im one of those who loves to change things up, so I am always changing my ROMs. Can't wait to see more to come from all these GREAT guys!!!

Eclipse is hands down my favorite.
Everyone is allowed there own opinion right.
But no one can do true AOSP code on a locked bootloader like @nitroglycerine33.

Edit - fixed
I have tried out baja rom, hyper drive, eclipse rom.. My fave rom is eclipse by far, best battery life and aosp styling is nice. The other roms are good and i'm looking forward to trying out rom updates on the new safestrap slots.
not generally a fan of these threads since i appreciate all the devs and the different stuff they create but since the rom isnt mentioned here and has been the most updated rom i have ever used on a locked bootloader device then i have to make sure that @hsbadr with his Jasmine rom gets listed.
he is also about to launch a FULL S5 port with the Note 3 specific features injected.
thanks to all the devs listed and not
I originally opened this thread to see what users had to say about a ROM. I put my opinion and read many others. Since the first thread was posted I have tried other ROMs that were mentioned here. Purpose was a success. THANKS Again to all the hard working developers that make these forums worthy and make our phones outstanding!!! As I have said before in other posts, keep up the GREAT work and can't wait to see what's on the horizon
