I'm 99.9% sure it can't be done. Even on other HTC models it's already very hard to port over, much less a different brand of phone.
hello Sir , so you can do it and send it to every one ?!

In the immortal words of dumd and dumber
" so your saying theres a chance"
what about just porting the touchwiz and the parts it needs at first then the rest of the os
I think due to the Galaxy S being an hdpi device it would be a near impossible job of porting it to our mdpi Hero. I think the nearest you'll get is a theme. I currently have a near complete framework port of all the images, scaled and re-9.png'd it looks cool but it's still not the ROM is it.
I wish I could do this for all Hero users too. I saw my coworker has bought a samsung galaxy. This device is really fantastic. Also its customized andriod system is very impressive. For instance the overview of desktops. Not like HTC, all desktops are reduced to a almost unreadable size but are aligned in one line. The menu font can be changed. The contact list looks more like iphone style. For me, the buttons in HTC sence look too bigger. This will also minus some points.
I bought my HTC hero last october. But the device has been slighly dropped to ground twice but looks optically very terrible now. And the microphone in headset does not work properly. Generally speaking the HTC qulity is not quite confident to me. Plus the attractive samsung software, I am now heavily considering to switch to samsung. (Smartphone is a great thing. I cannot help to wasting more money on it)

Well the themed framework should run on any 2.2 Froyo ROM. But to achieve the look you need to be able to change the Clock, Date, Notification text colour etc... like in CM6 or Fusion.

I tried this on top of a Sense ROM (Villain12) yesterday,.. this morning my alarm didn't sound, the jogball started going crazy, but there was nothing I could do to turn it off.
Maybe best to try on non-Sense/Vanilla ROM.

I have tried it and it does run, but there are some alignment and graphical issues. This would be due to the resolution it was meant for, Nexus and the like. This guy over here - http://forum.samdroid.net/f42/touchwiz3-launcher-spica-mdpi-screen-1615/ seems to have scaled a version down to fit mdpi devices. Not sure if it works but gonna give it a go. If so, the next cool thing would be to see if we can get some of the widgets to work with it.. ? :S

works fine on the fusion froyo rom, shame none of the samsung widgets are included.
apart from that, its perfect!
Its quite clear now that there's is going to be an ARM version of windows 8 in the future so I was just wondering if it would it possible to ever install it on a galaxy tab 10.1?
Interesting question twisted! Let me know if you find anything…
Looks like it is possible ...

The guy's a wanker, It's a launcher because everything from the sounds, to the clicks, to the animation are all fake, probably modded LauncherPro skin or something.
it freaking says ADW at the corner..i wonder why some people put complete junk on the internet and say its something cool....
this would be awesome if it came to the tab though...
No

Options aren't something you get when the "market" stupidly tolerates locked hardware.
I've been searching around on the subject for the last few days, in hopes of finding the answer...but I'm still not clear. Is it possible to load the tablet version of GMail on the Note, without switching to a new ROM? I'm running the basic stock ICS, and rooted. I'm really enjoying the stability and S-pen gestures working 100%, but would like to have the tablet version of GMail without switching the DPI, or changing ROM's. I'm pretty sure this isn't possible from what I've read so far, but figured I would ask the question before I gave up completely.
Thanks
AFAIK, the tablet versions of any app only apply when the correct DPI is detected. If you are on stock DPI of 320 then I don't think it would work. You'll need custom DPI control via a supported ROM/kernel to achieve this. But I might be wrong.

Ditch stock ICS and try paranoid android. You will get tablet style apps and a host of other features stock android could only dream of. Seriously using stock ICS with all the great ROMs floating around is like being at a feast and only eating bread.
I'm interested to know the same thing

I've tried all the other ROM's, albeit a while back, and lost all S-Pen gestures. Maybe this has been solved since then, I haven't been tracking the threads, but I need that functionality. I use my device a huge percentage of the time on my job-sites for taking pictures. I'm wearing work gloves, so using the S-pen is a great way to do this without taking your gloves on and off all day long. For some unknown reason Samsung made the S-Pen not able to hit the home, back, menu buttons and opted for a silly gesture system to achieve this. I'm stuck with no way to go back, use home, or menu on other ROMs with-out taking off my gloves, or the rare-used hit the button with the tip of my nose trick .
This is the first device I've left pretty much stock, and I have to say it's pretty awesome not constantly checking threads and flashing nightlies in hope of this bug or that bug being fixed. Everything is working rock-solid right now with no FC's, no reboots and all S-Pen functionality. I do understand all the great ROM's are out there and I might switch back to them at some point...but for now I need the gestures.
Another thing I was getting on the other ROMs was some pretty erratic s-pen behavior like activating screen taps when I was over an inch away from the screen, and being overall less accurate then when on stock. I'm hoping the Galaxy Note2 will come with an S-Pen calibrating app, that will be able to be ported over the original Note.

I wonder is there is a way to 'mock' your dpi. I'll think I'll check into that today, might be possible.
Anyword on this yet? I'll love to use tablet apps on my note 2.

Just change the dpi of gmail and it will turn them to dual panel. Try 220 or 240.

Has anyone figured out how to get S-view to work on AOSP 4.4.2 roms. More specifically I cannot answer or end a call with the flip cover closed. I switched over from hyperdrive 14 and it worked fine on there. I know it is a tw rom but there must be some way to get this working on the AOSP roms.

All of these features are built into the samsung framework and that is only included in the samsung firmware which google has nothing to do with, so it is not easy to just bring all of that over.

Do you think if you were to flash the dialer from the touchwiz rom that it would work. I downloaded a exposed mod for the note 3 to get s-view working but that dose not seem to work.

I have tryed 2 of the apps on there for the s-view and they dont seem to do anything. You would think this would not be that big of a deal but I guess it is. Im sure once the right developer gets there hands on it it will be a piece of cake for someone.

Ya I will have to try and find out who that was. I might post something on the rom thread I am using to and see if that dev might be able to come up with something.
It's tied into TW framework, which is proprietary. It's the same reason you can't get anything else TW on AOSP roms.
Got it to work on C-Rom

for everyone trying to get S-view to work I.E. being able to answer or reject calls i have finally gotten it to work. I downloaded the galaxy s4 glove mode app from the playstore and activated both S-view and Glove Mode and now i am able to answer and reject calls. Hope this helps. Also the C-Rom is my secondary ROM i could not get it to work with Multi ROM 1 or 2. Please let me know how you all make out.
Anyone been able to get this going on 4.3? I thought it was spose to work on 4.3 up. But while I get the audio history etc settings, I'm not getting the extra two related to using it from any screen and from the lockscreen. I've switched to US English. It all worked fine on my N7. Just wondering...

You're not the only one. I've been searching daily and trying different things to see if I could get it to kick in. I tried tricks that people have posted but I'm just like you. I get the Audio History settings but not the additional settings in the OK Google detection area. I went as far as wiping my phone and starting from scratch just to see. Still no luck. I am rooted and am using a different phone running 4.4.3 but the same results. My wife is purely stock and her situation is identical to ours. Bummer

Bump.
I have the Galaxy S3 T999, stock, not rooted, Jelly Bean 4.3, Google search 3.5+, Play services 5+. Audio History is on. I've tried searching OK Google Everywhere and Unleash the Google. I factory reset my phone, and didn't use any data restore programs at all. Play services auto updated, and I updated my Google Search app. STILL no luck. Re-searched the OK Google Everywhere and the Unleash the Google phrases.
Nothing doing. Can somebody help us figure out what's going on?
And here I thought it was just me... I'm glad I found this thread. I was able to get it to work on my stock N7 with 4.4 but can't on my stock Galaxy S4 or stock Galaxy Tab 2 7", both running 4.3...
It's pretty disappointing. I checked a friend's phone who has the same exact phone and software as me but she has the OK Google everywhere option. Oh well I'll sit here and cry with you guys until something magically changes.
Fortunately for me I FINALLY have this activated. Turns out that the problem for me personally was due to the ROM that I am running. I'm rooted so if anyone here is I would advise you to check out this link because it fixed it for me right way. Good luck everyone.

Hey ccw, could you let us know what phone you have, and what rom and Android version you are running?
I reinstalled archiport beta and immediately got ok google everywhere available. 4.3 is more stable for me, but if use this feature enough to wanna put up with a less stable rom. Has anyone on stock 4.3 tried the method ccw linked?

I've just tried it myself, switching back to stock 4.3 after archiport 4.4 beta was getting unstable. Unfortunately this method didn't work, and I think it's a 4.3 thing. Bugger that, as if really use this feature, but am not quite prepared to get a new phone yet. There is an xposed module to get this kinda working, but again just for 4.4.

My wife is on stock 4.3 and she doesn't have the feature either so you could be right. I wish you the best of luck because I truly feel your frustration. If it makes you feel any better though now that I actually have it I only use it to goof around and that's becoming less and less. My family is sick and tired of me saying "Ok Google" every 10 minutes.
