Hi all,
I have an issue with bluetooth audio while in a call. The audio quality is so bad, even with a lot of imagination I can't make up what the other one is sating. Normal bluetooth audio (like touchsounds or media) is fine.
This problem doesn't occur on the stock rom, but only on the custom (CM10-based) roms I tried.
I've tried ParanoidAndroid 2.51 and AOKP milestone 1.
I've got the same issue with both my bluetooth headset and carkit.
I also tried different radio's, currently I'm on I9300CEDLI1.
It doesn't seem to be a kernel issue ether. Currently I'm running stock JB with Siyah kernel 1.7rc1 without any problems. (I tried PA en AOKP with this same kernel)
I would appreciate it very much if someone could point me in the right direction.
Regards,
Roel
I recently upgraded my Galaxy Tab GT-P1000 to CM9.1 from the stock Gingerbread ROM and the microphone in the headset stopped working. I've tried CM 9.0, a Nightly CM10 build and an AOKP rom as well... still no luck. When I restocked back to Gingerbread it starts working again.
I've done a ton of google searching and read a lot of forums and I haven't seen many threads listing similar issues (or fixes), so I'm wondering if it's just on my unit.
Has anyone experienced anything similar to this and does anyone have any ideas how to fix?
Thanks!
Hi,
Currently I'm using a GT-I9300 and a friend has the GT-I9100 on a CM/AOKP/PA based rom and we both have the issue that VOIP apps can't use the bluetooth headset. On both devices. I get no sound at all and mic doesn't work (BT).
On normal Phone Audio it does work, I can make calls through Cellular using a bluetooth headset.
On stock ROMs I don't have this problem. Skype and other VOIP apps can use Bluetooth headset correctly. Only on CM/PA/AOKP based ROMs.
Would this be a global CM issue? Would this be kernel related? I have triend several kernels and all have this issue. On STOCK Samsung ROMs I don't have the issue. Not on GT-I9300 and GT-I9100. using the same kernels which I tried in CM/AOKP/PA.
I've tried Ressurection Remix, Temasek CM10.2, JellyBAM 9.1.2 and others. All have the same issue.
On all STOCK samsung roms (JB Leak 4.2.2, Stock 4.1.2 ROMs, currently I'm on XXEMG4 STOCK based rom) it works
I'd like to use a CM/AOKP/PA ROM with bluetooth VOIP apps support.
Can anyone test this and let me know if it works? Is this a kernel issue?
Perhaps a ROM developer can shine some light on this.
I have seen that TheWhisp has fixed a bluetooth audio VOIP issue on one of his ROMs for the Samsung Mini II, I know this is a qualcomm device and not exynos, but this info could be relevant:

GT-I9300 and GT-i9100 are Exynos devices, Mini 2 is Qualcomm. So the fix I used on Mini 2 wouldn't work on your devices. Anyway, I fixed it on Mini 2 simply by updating audio HAL from latest CAF sources.

Having the same problem on my i9300 and i9305. On CM11 or any other non-stock rom. Anyone found a solution yet?

nikec, I have asked this question on other forums too and this is one reply I received:
It is a problem the cm team cannot fix due to the fact that Samsung doesn't release the kernel modules.
So no Bluetooth voip support from cm

I have moved on to the Google Nexus 5 and it does not have this issue.
I have tried several different AOSP roms - currently on slimbean r7 - and it seems that all of them have varying degrees of issues with bluetooth. I have tried to sync my phone with my car and also with a portable speaker (jambox) and have had varying levels of success ranging from not working at all to working intermittently to working perfectly. This is the case before and after a restart.
Question - is there a fix, or is this a known problem with all aosp roms? If i go back to a TW rom will i have this issue?
Thank you so much for your help.
=)
anyone able to help?
This problem is now affecting CM 10.2 and CM 11.
Hi guys,
I just wanted to let you know that CM 10.2 and CM 11 has an echo problem with earbud inline microphones. I do not know how to use JIRA its not very user friendly so i'll post it here.
I am using:
CM 10.2 Stable/Final and CM 11 Nightly
Samsung Galaxy S3 - International i9300
Skully Candy Smokin' Bud earphones with inline mic./ Original Samsung Earbuds.
Problem: When someone calls me they can hear themselves as they talk with the earbuds on. There are no issues with bluetooth, earpiece and speaker.
Attempted fixes:
I have disabled noise reduction.
Disabled all DSP Manager features.
Purchased new earbuds, nothing made a difference.
Fix: I flashed stock Android 4.3 into my phone, the echo completely disappeared.
I tested nightly and stable for CM 10.2 the and the problem is consistent in both. I have also tested for CM 11 Nightly.
I would use JIRA to provide feedback but I have no idea how to use it, so I'm putting it in the forum and hoping someone will see the feedback here.
Other than this echo problem, the firmware is fantastic.
