Tmobile now 3G

having trouble getting 8525 on tmobile 3G network. it still showing only the E. help....
I thought tmobile wasnt coming out with 3g til oct or nov.... Im a bit behind on times if it's already out...
TMobile has rolled out the 3G in a handfull of areas right now.
I don't have a list handy, but it's available out on the Internet, search for it if interested.
As for the hermes, this has been covered before, a few times at least.
In a nutshell, the hermes will not work with the TMo 3G network due to the 3G bands that TMo are going to use. Unless TMo sets up some kind of roaming/tower sharing agreement with whatever carriers are in your area, it will never work.
Here are the cities for 3g..unfortunately none of our current phones will work with these ODD TMobile bands (U'll have to get a new phone from them)
Markets currently with T-Mobile 3G (13):
Austin
Baltimore
Boston
Dallas
Houston
Las Vegas
Miami
Minneapolis
New York/New Jersey/Long Island
Phoenix
Portland
San Antonio
San Diego
Markets getting T-Mobile 3G by mid-October (8):
Atlanta
Chicago
Los Angeles
Orlando
Philadelphia
Sacramento
San Francisco
Seattle
changing the radio frequency, is it possible?
is it possible to change the frequency on the hermes to run in
1700/2100? or is it set on the phone? can it be turned like a radio by turning the dail?

Technically, it is possible, but only by changing the radio hardware and recoding the radio stack and OS software (if any) to handle it.
So for all usual intents and purposes, no it's not possible. If you are a hardcore enough phone hacker, then I would say yes.

3g on roaming

I am on roaming right now but connection is only 1xrtt but during the drive i did get evdo, is there a way to force 3g? Would a diff prl make a difference
You cant force 3g while roaming. It depends on the roaming partner. Verizon only provides 1x while roaming, while Alltel and some others do provide 3g roaming. It is based on agreements with sprint.
changing the prl 11115 force 3g with verizon.

I'm in north central (Greensboro) and have never had much coverage of any kind on this or my old 3D
The last 4 results were standing right next to a Sprint tower yesterday( maybe 20 feet away)

If you are not in Raleigh, Charlotte, or (maybe) Greensboro, you wont have LTE until AT LEAST 2014-2015.
Raleigh and Charlotte should have LTE sites coming online in the fall and winter of this year.

There isn't an exact list of where T-Mobile is re-farming/ using AT&Ts 3G spectrum for now.
Not in Kirkland, WA.
Guess they're experimenting on a tower by tower basis, or maybe in very specific areas.

T-mobile has announced a major change in their upcoming "Uncarrier" plan and while I was at my local kiosk the folks in there showed me a refarming map of our area which is identical to the same area that is now HSPA+. As soon as this is complete it won't matter whether you're using a T-Mobile SIM card on the Titan. This too is setting T-Mobile up to sell the iPhone 5.

[INFO] List your T-Mobile LTE Area Here!

North Royalton, OHI thought I'd start a thread listing the places where folks on T-Mobile are able to get LTE so that people thinking about buying the dev editon (or just using LTE) will know for certain that it is available in their area. If I have time I'll post new areas in the OP.
EDIT 3 July 13: Thanks to XDA Member meleniumshane90, who has provided a map that is being updated with LTE locations: http://ltemap.org/tmobile

T-Mobile DOES have LTE in NYC. Right now it's only underground inside subway stations. Not sure why nobody is reading my posts...
Once you stumble upon LTE, you'll be like "look what I've found"!!!
It's been accessible since April 25th on some stations of 1,2,3 lines N,Q,R lines and A,C,L, etc. http://web.mta.info/nyct/service/WirelessServiceAtSubwayStations.htm

On your notification bar by your battery indicator...4G will just be HSPA+ and if it's on LTE, you'll see 4G and LTE below it.

Ah, so that's why I wasn't getting the speeds that I had been hoping for. Hopefully T-Mobile decides to set up more LTE towers in my area (Pomona, CA)

Do I need to change a setting or something to pick it up? Was just on the 2 train tonight - I was only getting 2G at Times Square. At 96th, 72nd and 14th I got 4G, and 34th St. voice only, no data!
I had heard a few weeks back that one could pick up LTE in the Atlantic/Barclays Center area in Brooklyn - haven't had a chance to stop by around there yet to see! Haven't seen that LTE yet since I got the One.
You don't have to change a thing. It automatically upgrades to LTE. Maybe not if you stay in the car, but on the platform is all LTE.
I am going to definitely head over downtown to check that out...
