[Q] DNA won't turn on - HTC Droid DNA

The phone will not turn on no matter what. It is not recognized by a computer, I believe that the USB port is broken. I have been having problems with the phone since replacing the screen a few months ago. The phone battery died, and it never came back on. When put on my Nokia DT-900 wireless charger, the white light on the charger comes on, but not the light on the phone. I don't know what to do at this point, any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Atrix does not hold power?

I'm aware that the phone is hard to power on after it dies completely, so please consider this:
- Motorola Wall charger does not charge the phone. If I insert the plug into the Atrix slowly the green light turns on, if I finish inserting the light turns off.
- Phone charges on my laptop with various USBs (green light is on) but never powers
- Motorola Wall charger works because it charges my Captivate
- I figured out a way to leave the phone at an angle where it could charge with the Motorola wall charger not placed in all the way (because otherwise it would pop back out). It didn't charge the phone.
I got the phone 4 days ago, and I rooted it 2 days ago, but I highly doubt that is an issue here. I ordered it from Amazon.
Any ideas?
Call Motorola support. They do actually answer in a reasonable time.
Failing that, might need to be returned.

[Q] Will not turn on.

Ok. So it's been a while since I've been on the forum, considering my Atrix 4G kind of died last October (I believe). And I figured I'd see if anything new has come out in the community to possibly save my phone.
It all started one afternoon. My Atrix had a low battery, so I plugged it into the wall charger and took a nap. I awoke to a phone that will not turn on. No LED when connected to stock wall charger. solid green LED when connected to a computer, but still won't turn on. I have tried a spare battery from Motorola, still nothing. I have created my own Dev cable, but had strange results. As soon as I made the extra connection, making the cable a "Dev cable", the solid LED turned off and nothing happened.
Any ideas folks? Bad part? Completely bricked? Is getting a new logic board my only option?

Phone only charges while turned off

My HTC One will only charge when the phone is off, not sure at all why this is. It was unlocked and has the stock rom on it, but it fails to recognize the device completely, when it is turned on and plugged into the wall or a usb port on my computer.
The phone however, will be recognized via fastboot and will charge either through AC or USB. I successfully was able to fastboot and push cm 10.2 on it. Still remains the same problem as before.
I cleaned the port out of the bottom to free it of dust and debris but no luck.
The phone itself will have a solid red charging light for 6 seconds, then it turns into a dim red light for 8 seconds, the led then turns off for 5 seconds and then the cycle repeats. The phone can only charge to 99% and never will show a green light for it fully charged, even after 2 days on the charge.
What the heck is the problem? I have read too many issues in regards to this and HTC has no acknowledged this one bit.
Do I have to replace the USB charging port? I ask that since my bootloader is unlocked.
Seems that on a clean restart and on airplane mode, the phone can't even hold a day charge from 25%..
My device started doing the same out of the blue. All was working fine untill about an hour ago. Now my device will not charge while the device is on. And no usb cable is being detected.

I ended up selling it and going back with my LG OG pro. Warranty it, you will not find a solution as I wasted hours upon end looking for one.
Same problem here
I'm having the same problem since two days ago. Anybody can help?
Thanks.

[Q] TP2 wont charge but LED is amber (replaced charger, battery and usb)

Good morning all,
I have this weird problem with my HTC touch pro 2...
A couple of years ago i bought 2 of these phones and i actually never used them until 2 weeks ago. (so brand new)
This, because i decided to flash them with android NAND ROM's which seemd to be working fine up until one point where i got this issue.
Some background info about the phone:
Both of them are HardSPL unlocked, have WinMo removed and instead have Anrdoid 2.3.7. installed. (which is working fine btw)
At first both of the phones seem to run fine and both of them where able to charge.
After a week of using the phones one of the phones stopped charging. (i tested some VOIP app from Aastra)
When the phone was powered on and the charger was plugged in, the Amber LED was lid but the battery was still draining... altho in the Android menu it stated "AC - adapter, Charging".
Because the charger i use is the original HTC charger which is brand new and so is the USB cable my first thought was.. well the battery could be defective since it has been in the box for some years..
At this point i changed the battery from one phone to the other to see if it would charge, but no luck still the same issue.
Then i replaced the AC adapter and USB cable with the ones from the other TP2, since that phone was charging fine...
Also no luck, the TP2 was still showing a Amber LED but did not charge at all.
After this i tried plugging in de USB cable in my PC to see if the PC would charge it, but as i expected, again no luck.
Then is switched off the phone and plugged in the AC adapter, the LED goes to Amber which indicates charging.
But now the weird thing, when i unplug the cable the LED remains amber !
And then the even MORE weird thing.... when i at this point remove the battery, wait 30 seconds and re-insert the battery the LED becomes amber right away !!
And when i trie to turn on the phone it does nothing, there is no respons at all to pressing the power button...
Just that amber LED....
Then i tried removing the SD-card and SIM, left the battery out for over an hour and tried to re insert the battery, but still the amber light goes on The AC-Adapter is not plugged in at this point !
At this point i was not sure anymore what to do, so i disassembled the phone to look if there was some bad / loose soldering on the USB plug.
But sadly enough i could not find any bad or loose soldering points, i also was not able to find any burnt or other bad looking circutes.
Then i reassembled the phone and made one last attempt to re-insert the battery, then the LED did not start to illuminate !
So for a verry short period of time i had good hopes that it was oke now... but then i plugged in the AC-adapter, the LED was amber again..
But the phone again will not turn on, and when i remove the battery and re-insert it it still shows the amber LED without the AC-adapter plugged in...
Right now i am at the point where i am not sure what to do anymore.
I was wondering if any of my fellow XDA visitors have experience with such an issue, or maybe even know a fix for this..
Some ideas to test or how to fix this are verry welcome ! :good:

I had a tp2 do something similar to this after it was hit with a power surge. Data would work, but no charging. Sadly the best suggestion at this point is to get a battery charger off ebay for like $5 and/or look for a replacement phone on Ebay/Craigslist. If the chip controlling the usb port is damaged it may work partially, and there is no way to repair it.

The chargers i got seem to be fine since i can charge my other TP2 with both of the chargers and cables.
I guess my only option is to leave it be.. cry... and move on with life...
Maybe, someone else has an other idea...

If you have a known good fully charged battery, and you can't make the phone work with it, then you sadly are probably out of luck.
That is a hardware failure, or a software failure requiring something along the lines of a jtag repair.
I was reading the text as though the phone would turn on with a charged battery, but wouldn't recharge the battery. I guess I misunderstood.

[Q] droid razr shows white light

Hello,
I have an XT912 that just did something strange. I have not changed the operating system so it is still stock.
When I plug it in to a charger now the phone turns on a white light in front. Then does not turn on. Can anyone tell me if this is consistant with needing a new battery?
The charging port looks good, not damaged.
I have tried a couple of different chargers.
Plugged into the computer the light stays on.
I am charging it right now overnight to see if that will work since I read somewhere to try that. I do not feel the LCD is bad since on other phones I would at least get a vibrate when the phone is plugged in.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
