I've just received the Logitech keyboard/cover and noticed that the hotkeys for applications run the Android defaults, whether or not you've set another default. For example, I use the Habit Browser and if I click a link in a document it "always" uses the Habit browser, but if I use the Internet hotkey it opens the default Android browser.
Any ideas?

External keyboard helper pro. Use this and set a tasker profile using bluetooth state and secure setting plugin to make it auto switch to it as the input method when your keyboard connects. It allows you to completely configure your keyboard. It will take a little bit to figure out but its worth it.

Any chance you (or some other equally helpful person) would be willing to provide detailed instructions on how to set up the Tasker aspect of this?

External Keyboard Helper does not work with the wifi version (wish I knew why???) Is there a way to use Tasker (or some other program) to trick the tablet into launching the stock email program when the email key is pressed on the Logitech Pro (which defaults to launch Gmail)?

In browser type in, about:useragent
Then choose desktop
Otherwise use Opera Mobile and under the advanced menu select Desktop, I know this method works perfectly no more mobile sites with Opera Mobile
thank you for solving this problem for me. It's been bugging me ever since I got the phone and the only negative issue I've experienced mainly because I've not had time to have a good old geek weekend just playing with it whilst pretending to look painfully efficient using phrases like "work hard, play hard and 24/7" It sounds like I'm a f***ing Mars Bar.
bluppfisk, do you have a location for that onwhere firmware? The only site I can find it on is in Chinese and I can't seem to download from it.
It doesn't work, the about:useragent option reverts back to "custom"

As soon as you Exit the browser it will be reset to Custom. Permanent fix you could do from here,

I can't set my brain for it anyway.

So the title kind of says it all can the Hackers Keyboard from the Google PLay store be configured to work once its installed?
Sure can. I did that a while ago. I have to go into the hackers keyboard app and set current input configuration that way. Used it when I needed to insert text. Now with CM7 i don't use it much because of the text handle that lets you slide over text and insert. I just tried it again so I know it works.
Works for me

There is an app called Air Display that works for both Windows and Mac and allows you to use an android or apple device.

Thanks, i'll try them out tonight
As others have mentioned, there are a handful of apps. In my experience they are all garbage though. Off the top of my head there is:
Air Display
Screen Slider
iDisplay
And each of them has some combination of the following issues:
500+ ms lag
Disables Aero/DirectX
Apps freeze when moved to tablet (expecially browsers)
Not compatible with 64 bit OSs
Can't set size or relative position of the tablet display
I have heard of good results from setting up VNC to stream a second monitor to an Android device, but I've yet to try it. If you find a good solution to setting up your Nexus as a second monitor, let us know. I'd love to use my Nexus and an extra touch monitor for my PC.

Personally I think you will struggle to find an app that will allow you to play games like this without noticeable lag or other problems.

While using a laptop I've had success "creating" another display in the Windows resolution menu, then simply connecting with Splashtop and using that. It works well for me, running games, apps, etc all in windowed mode

I've always found TeamViewer hard to use for anything substantial due the lag and slow loading times of everything on my screen - of course that could just be my slow connection.

Splashtop works....kinda, have to drop the display from Sharp to Smooth to get rid of annoying green line across the screen.
Like eall so far, there is considerable lag. A cabled solution would be great for my needs for now.

Hi -
Does anyone use the Citrix Receiver app on their Note 10.1? I have to use it for work, and I was wondering if people were successful in using the S-pen to edit documents, etc. It seems like the S-pen is great for the native Samsung apps, but using it as an input method, especially in citrix where the keyboard takes up half the screen, making it really hard to scroll and such.
Thanks!
I use citrix receiver on my note 10.1, but have never really tried to use the spen with it because my work applications don't call for it. My work is just mainly typing and clicking.
But it does work well.

Thanks for the reply. Do you run it with the native resolution, or do you have it set to some sort of magnification? Right now my screen is so tiny that it is hard to select things, such as to manipulate the cursor to select an email, etc., even if I am using the stylus. I tried changing the magnification settings in the Citrix Receiver app, but it doesn't seem to change anything when I connect to my remote desktop - everything is the teeny tiny size.
Also, how do you emulate the "shift" button to select more than one thing (e.g., deleting multiple items in outlook)?
I use the native resolution. I just pinch to zoom. I don't know how yours is set up, but mine has "apps" for the different programs I need to get into and the size can vary in the apps but I can just zoom in. I don't use it for outlook since my job also gives me a blackberry. Yes a blackberry lol

Don't knock the blackberry! I have a blackberry for work too (opted for the new Q10 over the iphone 5, insane, right? But I need that physical keyboard to deal with the volume of emails I have)
So when I log in using the Citrix receiver application, the "app" IS my desktop - there are no separate apps available for Word, Outlook, etc. Maybe that's the difference. I did change my setting to "optimize for high resolution" but all that does is give me a giant version of my desktop that I have to scroll around with my fingers.
Haha I just can't deal with blackberry. At this point in life I am just as fast with onscreen keyboard as the physical blackberry keyboard. We had the opportunity to get some S3's, but my boss opted for blackberry because he is an ios fanboy.
Back on topic, yeah mine seems to be set up a bit different with separate apps for the different programs we use.

I use Citrix for work. I have the screen set to static so the mouse point moves with my finger and then tap to click. This way I can pan the screen. As for the stylus, I use it sparingly. Mainly if I want to you the pen for touch instead of my finger, then I disable the onscreen mouse.
Are you using Xenapp or a web interface? I can log in, but I can't open any apps. The blue progress bar runs across the top, but nothing else. Wondering if it's A Note 10.1 2014 issue.

I use Xenapps. There used to be a beta version of receiver available to try. You might want to give that a whirl.

Auto rotate frequently gets in the way when I'm using my device. I never want it on until I'm trying to view something meant for landscape. Instead if there was a module to enable it automatically while using certain apps and have it disabled for others would make much more sense. I don't want it always on or off.
Here's an example;
Enabled when using gallery app.
Disabled when using Textra. I never use landscape keyboard.
If anyone wants a new project I know this would be a very useful module I would use everyday.
