Can someone post the vzappzone cab from the TP? I want to check out the visual voicemail using the XV6800...hopefully.
THANKS!
There is no CAB in memory... it was a download from Verizon, not sure how extract it...
I dont see a Visual Voicemail app anywhere on VZAPPZONE either... I searched.
As far as I know, Visual Voicemail is only available on the blackberry storm and costs $3/mo.
Here I found this:
http://products.vzw.com/index.aspx?id=fnd_toolsapps_detail&appId=3109611
Apparently it will be pre-install on the Samsung Omnia (WM6.1 device) so we may be in luck soon!!

I think that when you download the cab, you can save to the storage card. If you have the time to try that and then attach here that will be great.
Thanks!

FWIW, I asked about visual voice mail when I bought my TP (through the telesales store), because I noticed it comes pre-installed on the Saga, too. The Verizon rep told me that it's not compatible with the TP.
But, don't let that slow you down -- Verizon reps say LOTS of things....

I am seriously getting sooo sick of Verizon's Bull Sh**. First they cripple the Touch Pro and charge more than other uncrippled versions. Now the rep says no visual voicemail even though the TP support page shows the feature and the visual voicemail page shows the TP as a supported device. One of these days it would be nice to get what you are actually told you are buying!

I got fed up with it too. I orriginally bought the verizon TP. ended up buying the sprint version, returning the vzw one, and going through the lengthy, hacky, process of making the sprint TP work on verzon's network. I'm very happy now.
What route did you go to buy the Sprint Touch Pro and how much?
Any problems yet?
Thanks!
I found a registry key identifying the Titan as XV6800 for IE browsing. Can someone with a Touch Pro pass on the info in this reg key for me.
HKLM\Security\Internet Explorer\User Agent-Custom.
Thanks!

Alright, I just got it. I changed the above reg key to XV6850 pointed to ota.getvzappzone.com and got the download. On to Visual Voicemail.
Here is the Cab.
I just checked, VZAppZone is now on mobile.vzwapp.com

WOW.... so you think if you change that reg key to "Omnia" or "SCH-i910" then VZAPPZONE would let you download Visual VM????
I uninstalled piece of crap vzappzone because it kept turning ON my internet connection at random times for no apparent reason.
Original Registry Key:
HKLM\Security\Internet Explorer\User Agent
"480x640; XV6850; Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional;" (without the quotes)
Uninstalled vzappzone, changed reg key to: "240x400; SCH-i910; Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional;"
reinstalled vzappzone, still no ability to find visual voicemail...
Here is the visual voicemail cab I have been running on my i910 as well as i730, going to try it on my saga next, remember to install .net framwork 3.5 with it!
Link to framework: http://frifor.com/download/IBI/NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.CAB
VVM Cab - Attached
I downloaded the cab and installed it. When running through the startup sequence it failed and said to call customer care. They obviously wont help with this. Do I also need to change update the reg key so that VZ on connection thinks its a touch?
i downloaded the cab, and tried to subscribe and install but i get error code 206. i tried to call Verizon and they just gave me the run around and eventually told me that i wasn't able to have it on my account. Has anyone gotten this to work for their Verizon Touch Pro???

Yep, runs great on mine. BUT.... You will not get it to work unless you know someone on the inside. A vzw rep from this board had to turn it on for me. Once he did that all was well. Otherwise, you will not get them to do it until they make it official. the cab you downloaded is not for the TP, more than likely the4 omnia or that other Samsung crap.
Visual Voicemail on TP
Can you post your .cab files here for Visual VM on Touch Pro?
Ditto here. & who's the VZW rep who did it? I'd be willing to PayPal him a little if needed. The service looks pretty good.
The real crappy part is that the Touch Diamond that was just released by Verizon does have visual voice mail. Internally both devices are very similar. Minus the fact that the touch pro has more ram and a keyboard. Not Fair!
yeah this is really stupid since the diamond has it and there is no question they are the same phone software wise so just give us the ability to add visual voicemail already.
Are there any updates on this? Is there anyone on the board with VZW who can help?
Yes please post the Vis Voice for Verizon Touch PRO here
Pretty please with sugar on-top
Remember to Install .net framework 3.5 with it as well...Like everyone said, you need someone on the inside with Verizon to activate the service for you.
.net Framework cab can be found here: http://frifor.com/download/IBI/NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.CAB
I used this cab on my i910 omnia as well as i730, I am going to try it on my saga now, should work though I would think...

Although the cab installs no problem; getting it activated on the account is where the issue is...
hmm...so it installed ok, but when tried on the Saga, I get the error of "The device number could not be initialized. If you are in flight mode, please turn off flight mode and try again." My signal is def on...any idea's? I still have the omnia here if I should pull some files off of it...
It works fine for me & I didn't have to call anyone at Verizon to get it to work. After the install I was prompted to sign up for enhanced VM for 2.99 extra a month. From there it works well except the sound only comes out the speaker and not the earpiece, regardless of what I've selected in settings.

I actually called and requested the 2.99 service after downloading/ installing Verizon VVM app, they told me I couldn't get the service. As I was reading this thread, I came across this post, checked my VVVM app and there were my voice mails! Just waiting for me!
Can't wait for him to call me back Friday (like he promised) so I can tell him all about the miss information I get from the Verizon folks.
Side note, I see the MR1 2.0 is available from PCD
http://pcdphones.com/phone_downloads.aspx?bid=110&cid=1&mid=328&carrier=Verizon%20Wireless
I am sure this is the wrong place to post, but I don't post much!!
works fine on my touch pro...
I signed up for it on My Verizon first.
wish I could map it to cVoicemail....but that cHome stuff is beyond me for some reason.
bah.

Yea it would be pretty cool to have though but it's time to move on WP7, Android here we come.
I just switched from Tmobile (MyTouch 3G Slide) to the Verizon Thunderbolt.
I REALLY REALLY miss the Hand-Free (Texting) ability from the MyTouch...
Is there anyways to get the Hand-Free ported from the MyTouch to the Thunderbolt?
(I tried Vingo, I don't like its. And it didn't seem to Read Incoming SMS)
Just download handcent SMS.
Sent from my rooted T-bolt using my fingers!
Its not just the lack of HandsFree Texting on the Thunderbolt.. Its the Call Announcing through Bluetooth, and other features within the HandFree app on the myTouch...
I don't want a Third-Party Messaging app, when the one within Android works just fine.

Well Maybe you should be laughing at yourself for being douchie, because the HANDS-FREE Feature from the MyTouch is not built into the SMS App. Its a whole different app. If I'm not mistaken its apart of the Genius Button; Because its Activated by pressing the G-Button>Menu>Hand-Free
So think, then type, then think again before hitting POST
→ Me laughing at myself.
The feature you wanted was specifically built/integrated for the phone in question (through proprietary means) and was not built by HTC. That is why it's not in every HTC phone and why you won't have it on the Thunderbolt without additional software you claim you can't stand.
"Genius" is a custom voice command and text-to-speech system powered by Dragon Dictation technologies. The button replaces, and is in the location of, the Search button previously on the myTouch 3G.

Properly built third party software is as good as anything that comes on the phone or better and has the same means/access to build their apps as the OEM.
I've been using Voice Control Full and I think you might like it. Check it out from your Android phone:

Wow. And we wonder why everyone eryone is leaving xda... You ask for an app that does what your last phone does, someone suggests a viable alternative w and you call him a douche.
I guess welcome to the Thunderbolt forums... :-(

Yeah, I mean I don't understand what the OP wants and thus is a pretty useless thread. He knows our phone lacks a certain feature that he seems pretty passionate about having, but yet says the SMS on the phone works fine and does not want a third party alternative (despite the feature on his old phone technically being a third party feature, just one that came with it and porting it would be the same as installing something in the market).
I would recommend using a keyboard that has voice control in it like swype (and there's some others), but I wouldn't to look too "douchie" by recommending third party apps to the OP.
Apparently No one seems to get the Idea here.
I don't want a second SMS Application such as Handset. I never asked for that.
I ASKED FOR the TEXT TO SPEECH application that is built into the MyTouch 3G Slide.
the HandsFree app from the MyTouch 3G support Voice Texting, Voice Calling, etc. When a new SMS Message arrive, the phone Announces the sender, and asked if I would like to read no, or later. Then after the application reads the TEXT, it give the option to REPLY, which can then be done through voice... So Never do you have to touch the phone while driving.
The appication from the MyTouch that handles all that has been the best HandFree application I've seen yet. And I've had nothing but Android phones since the Original G1.
I asked for that one application, because I figured with all the smart people on this site, they might have been able to extract it from the MyTouch at some point. The CM7 for the MyTouch has it. I've tried to look within the zip for the application (apk) that might be responsible for the HANDFREE app, but have yet to locate it.
So in the end, If I wanted to try one of the 30000000000 other SMS/Text Apps out there I would have asked for it. And technically I orginally never asked for a SMS Application. I asked for a HandFree (Speak-to-text, and vis versa)
Well here's my stab at it. Voice Control is proprietary software by Nuance (Dragon Dictation Technologies) meaning even if we did find the apk or were able to port it, it would be considered warez which is against the rules of XDA. All apps by Nuance are paid apps.
Nuance Voice Control Webpage: http://www.press-and-speak.com/PressAndSpeak/2338
Nuance and T-Mobile had an exclusive agreement to implement this software on the myTouch 3G/4G. I'm sure later on other devices will be supported. The only download they have for Android is the flexT9 keyboard for $4.99 . They seem to have all their apps available to the iPhone however.
However when I asked about alternatives, someone recommended Vlingo Virtual Assistant for reading SMS in the Android Market. Not sure if it has the same exact features as Voice Control, however its a close alternative.
EDIT: nevermind noticed you said you tried Vlingo. My bad
Edit 2: I know you said you did not want alternatives but Drivesafe.ly can read txts to you and the pro version let's you respond. I really don't think there are free alternatives for a fully featured app other than Vlingo.

Actually Vlingo does read incoming text messages. The feature is Safe Reader. Also has voice dialing and texting.
Oh and p.s. no need to be a **** to people offering assistance.

My HTC One (M7) AT&T phone recently received AT&T's software update that updated it to Android 4.4.2 and Sense 6. While looking at the HTC and AT&T overviews for this update I saw reference to the Gallery 'Image Match' feature. Finally a feature that sounds useful. Well, as far as I have determined, AT&T stripped out this feature from the HTC Sense 6 release when they created their update for the M7.
I had extensive tech support communication with HTC and AT&T on this. AT&T initially pointed to their and HTC's documentation stating that the feature was indeed present (i.e. http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-one-m8/howto/464947.html - I know that's the M8 but they both said it applied) and that I should engage HTC to see why I couldn't find it on my phone. HTC said it should be there. We did everything short of a full factory reset of the phone and it does not show up. Then they located two of their colleagues' AT&T HTC One M7 phones and compared to an unlocked M7, all with Sense 6 update. The AT&T phones did not have the feature, just like mine. They determined that AT&T must have pulled the feature before building its software update for the phone.
Why would AT&T do that? The feature is not hardware dependent at all. Is it purely to strip out functionality on an 'old' device to hobble it?
Does anyone have an HTC One (M7) from AT&T that DOES have the Image Match feature in the HTC Gallery app??
By the way, one of the undesirable 'features' of the Sense 6 update is the location and style of the lock screen text notifications. They are now at the top of the screen and are transparent to the background. They used to have a darker text box to make the text easier to read. Is there any way to revert this??
Thanks,
Rob
